Where can I find dresses similar to ones celebrities have worn?
Prom is a few months away and I have my mind set on finding a dress as close as possible to the red Donna Karan gown Nina Dobrev wore to the 2011 Emmy's (Google it- it's gorgeous!). I want to find a credible place to find dresses that are similar to the ones celebrities have worn, whether online or at a store. Is there any way to find structurally similar dresses to ones that I have seen? (Googling "dress similar to Nina Dobrev's Donna Karan dress" didn't help at all :(
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories8 years agoHelp with a couple Logarithmic and Exponential Functions, please? :)?
I am doing a take home test and it's a review of logarithmic and exponential functions. I haven't done these in forever, so I am having a hard time with some of the equations. If you could please show steps and answer one or all of them, it would help me out SO much! Thank you in advance :)
Simplify:
16 * 2^(2n+3)
Solve:
(2^x - 2^-x) / 3 = 4
This one seems easy, but I don't know why I can't get the answer!
(Below: the x is the base of the log)
logx(4) = 2/3
Below: The 3 is the base of the log
5log3(2x) - 3 = 6
1 - 2 ln x = -4
3 AnswersMathematics9 years agoWhat movie could I critique the science in that's not a "Sci-fi" movie?
I have to watch a movie and critique the science in it, but I hate alien/outerspace sci-fi movies, so I need a movie that has science in it (cloning someone, for example) but also has a story line that isn't like Star Trek or anything like that. One example I was thinking of doing was Weird Science but I can't remember how much science stuff is in it that I can write a two-page critique about.
Please help! This extra credit is due tomorrow, and being in AP Physics, I need all the help I can get.
4 AnswersMovies10 years agoHelp with difficult Algebra II simplifying problem about fractions!?
I have two, actually. If you could please show me the steps you did to get there, it would help! Or just tell me how to solve it? Like, in what order?
There's a lot going on in the problem and it looks confusing if I write it out, so if you look at the "Input" thing on Wolfram Alpha that I typed in, it makes way more sense...
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%28%281%2B%28...
And the other one:
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%28%287y%2F%2...
This is a take home test, and I was able to do all of the other ones, but these have stumped me! I remember from Algebra II (I'm in Pre-Cal) that if you are dividing two fractions, you multiply by the reciprocal of one of them? (Like one of the fractions is upside down) But what do you do if the denominator of the big fraction has two fractions being added together? I'm so confused!!! And the Wolfram Alpha explanation doesn't seem right to me.
1 AnswerHomework Help10 years agoCan you suggest some books that are good fantasy reads for me to send to my soldier!?
I adopted a soldier and he mentioned that he is into religious literature (he's a Christian) and fantasy novels, like books with wizards, dragons, etc. I'm not really familiar with good books that would match what he likes, but he did mention the Narnia books and the Lord of the Rings books. I would really love to make him happy by sending him and the other men with him lots of books that can help them escape from war and delve into a great book. Thanks for your replies!
Also, does anyone know where I could find these books for cheap? Like half price books, or a website?
4 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoInformation about wealthy American women in the late 19th / early 20th century?
I looked on Google but it has too many variables so I'm not coming up with any information. I need to research life for well-to-do American women in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century (1885-1915). What types of activities do they do? What was expected of a woman of high social status? What did they wear for different occassions? What was a typical day like? etc.
Can someone PLEASE provide me with a website that would give me facts about these things?
Thanks so much!
3 AnswersHistory1 decade agoHow much could I get from selling a WORKING 1997 Playstation?
We are having a garage sale and I would like to know if I should take it to a Gamestop or sell it in my garage sale..? And I also want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off. Is a 1997 vintage or junk? Like I said- it still works!
Thanks so much! Just a ballpark range or price or how much it's worth?
2 AnswersPlayStation1 decade agoWhat job would fit what I want to do?
I'm trying to figure out what I want to do before I go to college. I'm interested in psychology and I'm good at it. I would love to travel but that's not a necessity. I'm not really looking for a desk job. Also I would LOVE to work with sheltered women, foster children, or (especially) children in underdeveloped countries. Money is important but not the deciding factor. What job would incorporate those things? Or things similar? It would help a lot! Just throw out a suggestion or 20. I need help!!!

And don't tell me to do my own homework. I've already made a list, but I need two more. I have symbolism, but if you can help me really quick, that would be awesome! And my teacher is evil, so please make them really obvious examples :)
Thanks so much if you can help me out!
2 AnswersHomework Help1 decade agoCould someone explain The Other Boleyn Girl to me?
Could someone please explain the story line and the connection to the real-life scandal? I have to watch a movie about a scandal, and I know it IS a scandal, but I can't explain it well. And I read the summary, so please either explain it yourself or attach a link to a helpful website! Thanks so much for your help!
5 AnswersMovies1 decade agoHow do you cite a poem?
Our teacher gave us a printout of Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe. I don't know what book it came from, or where she got it from, so I don't know what to do. I found a website that has Annabel Lee on there, so could I just cite the website I found it on? Or do I need to cite the poem itself?
Please and Thank You :)
2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoCan my mom teach my friend and me how to drive?
I live in Texas, by the way. I just turned 15, and my friend will turn 15 in a week. We considered driving school, but it consumes WAY too much time. My parents said that online was fine, and that my mom would teach me the driving portion. However, my friend's parents refuse to teach her, but are open to the online idea. My question is: Could my mom teach my friend also? If her mother is fine with it?
4 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoExample(s) of how Zeus was influential? Please help!?
I have to write a short newspaper-like paragraph, because we are doing a newspaper project in English about Greek Mythology.
I have to write it about: An Influential Person or Idea of the Time
The four gods we can choose from are Hermes, Ares, Zeus, or Hades.
I don't HAVE to use Zeus, but I kind of want to. But I can't really figure out specific ways that he was influential. Could you please give me examples of how Zeus (or the others) were influential.
Please and thank you!
2 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoHow could I fundraise $7000 for a Student Ambassador trip to Europe?
I got accepted for People to People Student Ambassador program, and the trip I would be going on is 19 days in France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. After going to the meeting and hearing from kids that had gone on a trip last year, I was convinced that this was something I wanted dearly! I have always wanted to travel, and this is a great opportunity, and will help set me aside during college applications (I will be in the 10th grade after going this summer).
HOWEVER, the big kicker was when they said it was...
$6,500 for everything (inc. food, transportation, and hotels, etc.)
+ $295 for a plane ticket to New York (that's where we leave out of, and I'm coming from DFW area, Texas)
+ $295 for insurance for my bags and health and stuff.
Also, I would need spending money. But I was wondering how much money I should need (for 19 days) ? $1000? I don't know!
But my main question for you guys is... I need a way to raise the money myself. My dad offered to pay $2000 of it, but I would so much rather do it myself and not suck out two grand unless it is absolutely necessary...
I am already asking friends and family for money (which I HATE to do), and I am telling them it will count as my b-day and christmas money!
But I need creative ideas for getting ALOT of money. And luckily, we don't have to pay it all for a year, but still... I need it stat.
Car wash?
Scholarships?
Garage Sale?
Give me your ideas or links to websites with ideas!
Thanks so much!
7 AnswersOther - Europe1 decade agoI need help on a To Kill A Mockingbird page number ASAP, PLEASE!?
I was looking for a better quote about racism than the one I found myself, and I saw someone put this quote:
“There’s something in our world that makes men lose their heads- they couldn’t be fair if they tried. In our courts, when it’s a white man’s word against a black man’s word, the white always wins. They’re ugly, but these are the facts of life”
But they put page 252, and that's the part where Scout finds out she's going to be a ham in the pageant, so that's not right. And I need the correct page number! So could someone tell me what page number this quote is on in the book, or even during what part of the story specifically it is in. As I am a procrastinator, this is due tomorrow, and it is driving me crazy! I will be extrememly grateful for anyone who can help me out! Thanks so much!
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoHelp me name my dog(s), please?
I am going to the pound to pick out two medium sized dogs. I want a dog that I can throw a ball with, but can also have sleep at the foot of my bed :)
And, I am getting two so they will have each other! But I really love the color gray, so I was wondering if there are any breeds that are a pretty gray color that fit my size specifications.
But, my main question is what to name them! I want a BA name for them, like Boss or Fletcher (names stolen from my friends dogs used for an example) and I am getting both males. Random ideas: I am a huge fan of the Twilight Saga, but I don't want to name my dog Edward. And I like Alternative/ Rock/ Acoustic music types. And my favorite song is My Heroine (Acoustic) by Silverstein... though I'm not sure any of that is helpful or relevant in the least bit.
Anyway, let your creativity flow, please! I would appreciate it!
Thank you so much!

10 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat are good symbols for Twilight?
I'm talking about like... things you would get tattooed to represent the Saga (Not JUST the first book). Anything to represent Edward, Bella, Renesmee, Jacob, vampires, their love, or the book itself. Thanks so much!
6 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoWhat did Edward mean when he said this?
Edward is telling Bella (in the movie, its when they're in the woods) about all the things that he has that invites her in. His smell, looks, voice, etc. And then he says- " As if I'd need any of that." I've always been confused about what he means. Is he being cocky, or what?
