Why do christians seem to think their religion is untouchable?
Like no one's allowed to question the silliness of their beliefs or practices? As if there is some sanctity about it where it is not allowed to be questioned?

Help Save Salmon and Protect Human Health
Organophosphate pesticides hurt human health and threaten Pacific salmon and steelhead with extinction.
Pacific salmon and steelhead populations have fallen dramatically in recent decades, and these pesticides represent a distinct threat to their survival. Worse, exposure to these poisons also threatens human health.
Right now, the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Marine Fisheries Service are considering new restrictions on the use of these deadly pesticides… and they need to hear from you!

So have you been to the valley lately?
Have you noticed the shepherd is gone?
So walk gently lady
As you walk along
Cos I once had fought for his forces
But that cross bears nothing now
I've seen all but your Crusades succeed
And it's growing sour
Gonna be a long time waitin'
Things are always look a little better
When you're on the back-side of them
And then you know all that you think you might need to know
But even then, my little wing, ya you'll have to grow
So have you been to your God lately?
No Jesus Christ, he ain't nowhere to be seen
He is not there matey
He has never been
So have you been to your church lately
No cannot find the key to your home
They got no support for you now my friend
They got problems of their own
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoGOP Chairman Says Afghanistan is Obama's war of choosing?
Should this guy step down or stay since he represents the right wing's ability to just pretend whatever they want is true?
Republican chairman Michael Steele drew criticism from within his own party Friday, including calls to resign, after saying the 9-year-old commitment of U.S. troops to Afghanistan was a mistaken "war of Obama's choosing."
As criticism swelled, Steele issued a statement stressing his support for U.S. troops, but he did not acknowledge his factual error about a war launched by former President George W. Bush in response to the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. A senior official in Bush's administration said it would be impossible for the Republican National Committee to speak with credibility on foreign policy if Steele remained chairman.
7 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoQuestion for Regressives, How do you make yourselves believe the lies?
I mean, really believe them. I used to think you guys were just hacks, but Im beginning to think youve convinced yourselves the GOP talking points are actually true, like the Kenya thing, the idea the federal govt has ignored the border (vs reality- which is that AZ gets more border agents than just about anybody- and that there are more agents NOW than there EVER have been before), the repubs apologizing to BP for causing the spill and not being able to clean it up, fighting wall st. reform at the same time claiming to fight for main st...?

A New Mexico mother is accused of fatally abusing her 5-year-old daughter. Investigators said Jessica Barron, 27, beat the girl over and over in their Anthony home. The child died at the hospital Thursday night. Doctors said she had severe bruising, brain bleeding and bite marks all over her body. Barron is jailed on a $100,000 cash bond on a child abuse resulting in death. Her two other children are in state custody. It's unclear if they were also abused.

10 AnswersOther - Environment1 decade agoSince a couple snowstorms in the US meant warming was over..?
are these record temperatures for an ENTIRE CONTINENT going to convince deniers it hasnt stopped? Im just trying to use their own logic to figure them out, since using science doesnt convince them.
A hellish heat wave hit Pakistan last week, sending the mercury to an astonishing 53.5°C (128.3°F) at the town of MohenjuDaro on Wednesday May 26, reported the Pakistani Meteorological Department. While this temperature reading must be reviewed by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) for authenticity, not only is the 128.3°F reading the hottest temperature ever recorded in Pakistan, it is the hottest reliably measured temperature ever recorded on the continent of Asia.
Record heat also hit Southeast Asia in May. According to the Myanmar Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Myanmar (Burma) had its hottest temperature in its recorded history on May 12, when the mercury hit 47°C (116.6°F) in Myinmu. Myanmar's previous hottest temperature was 45.8°C (114.4°F) at Minbu, Magwe division on May 9, 1998. According to Mr. Burt, the 47°C (116.6°F) measured on May 12 this year is the hottest temperature measured in Southeast Asia in recorded history.
8 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoWhat Will it Take for YOU to Change Your Ways With Oil?
First, we live in an oil based society, no denying it. But people waste so much oil. Some people still dont care and wont even carpool or buy local food, or any of the hundreds of ways they could be helping. I have done everything I can but am always looking for more ways to cut oil out of my life.

8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy isnt BP still pumping mud to hold it down?
They are now building a custom made cap to try, but it;s going to take 4-7 days. In that time, they could keep pumping mud down into the well to hold down the oil. While they were pumping the mud this week, no oil was coming out. Why did they stop? Cant they do two things at once?
2 AnswersOther - Environment1 decade agoNow that man has created synthetic life, will creationists wake up?
Man has a made a creature with no ancestors. We have duplicated the beginning of life (albeit not with the same ingredients), so I guess now the only argument creationists have is what ingredients were around?

Assuming the stage of denial has progressed at least the where Bush is, where are the scientific facts supporting natural warming? Dont forget if you claim a cycle or sun you need to show scientific proof that it is happening today. Not that it happened naturally in the past.
