(2 Corinthians 3:5-6) Not that we of ourselves are adequately qualified to reckon anything as issuing from ourselves, but our being adequately qualified issues from God, 6 who has indeed adequately qualified us to be ministers of a new covenant, not of a written code, but of spirit; for the written code condemns to death, but the spirit makes alive. I'm just one of 7 million Witnesses of Jehovah...devoted to do his will, in imitation of Jesus Christ his son.

  • How has prayer helped you to be closer to God?

Please feel free to also share how God has answered your prayers? Kindly read first before answering. Thanks

    PRAYER

It is not possible to maintain spiritual balance without prayer. It keeps a person reminded of their dependence upon God. It is one of the ways we can express our heartfelt gratitude for what God has done and will yet do. It is the way we can talk with him, unloading our troubles and worries upon the heavenly Father. “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God, and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.”—Phil. 4:6, 7. Sincere prayer brings a person near to God, just as it is written: “Jehovah is near to all those calling upon him, to all those who call upon him in trueness.” (Ps. 145:18) He is near those whose mind is on him and his interests and whose heart is in their prayer.

This is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us.—1 John 5:14.

This question is for those having faith in God, his son, and his word the bible.

  • Do Jehovah's Witnesses really cause families to become divided?

Could it be someone else who is causing this division? Did you know there is scriptural proof of why division takes place amongst family, are you willing to share any that you know? Now is the time to clear the air on this topic...so people will quit blaming JW witnesses for breaking up their families, due to some invalid prejudices and misunderstanding. There needs to be just insight from the bible on the matter. For the record 95% of the time those who study the bible w/JW is jilted by their family member initially and also resented because they no longer participate and celebrate worldly holidays ( without even listening to the reason why). Many claim the student has placed an hedge and feels they are above/better than the everyone else. Is it true if the student has went out their way to try to share with those they love the things they have learned. It is not that the student hates his family but the family starts hating the student due to the changes the student is making in their lives. Why is that? A person can attend any church...but let them study or become one of JW then it is a serious uproar. I'm looking to hear from everyone. I will be interacting with some, so check back.

  • Can you relate? Knock!! Knock!! Who's there......Jehovah's Witnesses?

Some of us as Jehovah's Witness has been on both sides of the coin. We all were not raised as Jehovah's Witnesses. In fact someone had to lovingly take time out their busy schedule to knock on our doors and then something in our hearts moved us to eventually see the need to sit down an actually ask those questions we longed to have answered, you know the ones... (we could not get satisfactorily answered in Church). So there we were finding ourselves asking all those questions about God with a stranger/neighbor. The funny thing is no matter what Religion we were in at that time, we sat down and started studying with Jehovah's Witnesses because someone actually cared enough to take out the time to help us learn the truth about God. Jehovah's Witnesses please feel free to share your story, if you like. However, I felt impelled to share this link I got today from a sister in a email...thought it was worth sharing with those on Yahoo Answers. From Essence Magazine. Everyone can share their sentiments who can relate on a positive note...feel free. I just ask for you to keep things respectful. Please

Whether a person listen or proudly refuse...no matter what we are still lovingly giving a witness.

  • Why don't Churches teach about God's Earthly Hope and Promises for mankind?

It's not a doctrine teaching because it is found throughout the bible. Paradise was lost and it will be restored. That is why Jesus could tell the evil doer, truly I say to you today, "You'll be with me in Paradise" Which has only been here on earth. That is why Jesus came and died, so that we might have hope. John17:3 We are taught to Pray the Lord's Prayer, and to ask for "God's Kingdom to come on earth" as it is in heaven. Would it make since for us to pray for heaven like conditions here on earth, if everyone is to end up in heaven. Which is my next topic of discussion: Who goes to heaven and why? Think about the existing condition of this world with all the (wars, crime, violence, hunger, pollution, homelessness, illness, death.... so many woes) and how it is getting a lot worse in these last day. Very soon God is going to step in and put an end to all these things. Please meditate on these scriptures below before you give a response. Know those scriptures are not talking about conditions in heaven. Iit is speaking of what is to take place very soon right here on earth. (2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.(2 Peter 3:13) But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.

KNOW THIS IS MANKIND'S OTHER HOPE. & PROMISES held out in the Bible. Keep in mind, It is IMPOSSIBLE for GOD 2 LIE.

    PS. 37:9,11,29:"Evildoers themselves

will be cut off, but those HOPING IN JEHOVAH

are the one that will possess the earth...The

    MEEK ONES THEMSELVES WILL POSSESS

THE EARTH, and they will indeed find their exquisite

delight in the abundance of peace. The RIGHTEOUS

themselves will POSSESS THE EARTH, and

they will RESIDE FOREVER upon it."

Isa.33:24: " NO RESIDENT will say: "I AM SICK."

Isa 25:8: "He will actually SWALLOW UP DEATH

FOREVER, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will

certainly wipe the tear from all faces."

Isa. 65:21, 25 : "And they will certainly build

houses and HAVE OCCUPANCY, and they will

certainly built vineyards and EAT (their) fruitage."

The wolf and the lamb themselves will feed as

    one and the LION WILL EAT STRAW just like the bull;

and as for the serpent, his food will be dust.

They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all

my holy mountain, "Jehovah has said."

Isa. 35:5, 6 " At that time the eyes of the blind

ones will be opened, and the very ears of the

deaf ones will be unstopped. At that time the

lame one will climb up just as a stag does, and

the tongue of the speechless one will cry out in

gladness. for the wilderness water will have burst

out, and the torrents and in the dessert plain."

Isa. 11:8,9: "And the sucking child will certainly

play upon the the hole of the cobras, and upon

the light aperture of a poisonous snake will a

weaned child actually put his own hand. They

will not do any harm or cause any ruin in all my

holy mountain, because the earth will certainly be

filled with the very knowledge of Jehovah as the

water is covering the very sea."

PS.46:9 "He is causing all WARS to CEASE."

Isa.65:17: "For here I am creating NEW HEAVENS

and a NEW EARTH and the former things will not

be called to mind, neither will they come up into

    the heart."

Isa 45:18: "For this is what Jehovah has said, the

Creator of the heavens,. He the (true) God, the

FORMER OF THE EARTH and the MAKER of it.

He the One who firmly established it, who did not

create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to

be inhabited: "I am Jehovah and there is no one

    else."

Isa. 55:11: "so MY WORD that goes forth from my

mouth WILL PROVE TO BE. IT WILL NOT RETURN

TO ME WITHOUT RESULTS, but it will certainly do

that in which I have delighted and it will have CERTAIN

SUCCESS in that for which I have sent it."

So again, why isn't the earthly hope ever mentioned in other churches and religion?

The theme of the bible is Jehovah GOD'S KINGDOM...By means of his son Jesus, it is going to correct the effect of sin and remove Satan and his demons, and remove all ungodly man. So that righteousness can prevail here on earth...this is the truth that sets men free.

  • Does God really care about us?

On here a lot of Atheist choose to believe that God doesn't exist nor does he care for us. Many persons who have faith in God seem to misdirect the fact that mankind's suffering is somehow God's will, but is it? Here are some scriptures to give persons something to think about and to give hope to those desiring to know the truth about God. Is God to blame for all the atrocities and wickedness that prevail on the earth? Sickness, Death, Starvation, Homelessness, Wars, Violence to name a few....is it feasible to believe that God would want the world to be in the condition that it is now in, or does he have a plan? Could this be the works of someone else, who's responsible for intervening in God's Original Purpose for mankind?

    WHY THE QUESTION ARISES:

We live in a world full of cruelty and injustice. Many religions teach that the sufferings we experience are God’s will.

    WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES:

God never causes what is wicked. “Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!” says Job 34:10. God has a loving purpose for humans. That is why Jesus taught us to pray: “Our Father in the heavens, let . . . your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.” (Matthew 6:9, 10) God cares so deeply about us that he has gone to great lengths to make the fulfillment of his purpose a certainty.—John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

(Genesis 1:26-28) And God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth.” 27 And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. 28 Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”

(James 1:13) When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.

(1 Peter 5:6-7) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt YOU in due time; 7 while YOU throw all YOUR anxiety upon him, because he cares for YOU.

How does those scriptures make you feel about God?

Serious answers only. Thanks so much.

  • Reasoning on The Eternal Hellfire...as one of Jehovah's Witnesses does this make sense to you?

    Yes I know it's a lot...look at it as a short Story....lol

Tormenting in hell is not a scriptural teaching. Hell is just mankind's resting place...his common grave. Jesus went to hell/hades for 3 days the bible says (Acts 2:31) he saw beforehand and spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he forsaken in Ha′des nor did his flesh see corruption.

    Ha·des (hā′dēz′)

    1.Greek. Myth.

a.the home of the dead, beneath the earth

    b.the god of the underworld

2.Bible the state or resting place of the dead: name used in some modern translations of the New Testament

•Sheol (pronounced "Sheh-ole") , in Hebrew שאול (Sh'ol), is the "abode of the dead", the "underworld", or "pit". ...

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheol

•the realm of dead, the common grave of mankind, Hell. In older English translations of the Bible, notably the Authorized or King James Bible ...

    en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sheol

Jesus was perfect. Let me ask you, was Jesus deserving of eternal burning in hades/sheol/hell since they are all one in the same...one is greek/hebrew/english? Besides...not once do you read that he said, Man it's HOT down there...lol

Churches teacher you are forever torment and burned...with no escape. Jesus was resurrected from out of Hades/Sheol/Hell which was his grave after God resurrected him from it. (Acts 3:14-15) Yes, YOU disowned that holy and righteous one, and YOU asked for a man, a murderer, to be freely granted to YOU, 15 whereas YOU killed the Chief Agent of life. But God raised him up from the dead, of which fact we are witnesses.

Besides two scriptures come to mind "the wages of sin is death". And those that "have died has been acquitted of their sins"....so where do Religion get this notion of constant torture and burning forever after death. Once you die the soul is unconscious of anything Eccl. 9:5,11 (state of the dead.) It is like FRYING some CHICKEN!!! It's dead!!Who's feeling the pain, when one is dead?

They teach this false pretense that the soul lives on after death, if that were true. Then we would not have needed Jesus Christ to die for our sins nor would it be any need of a resurrection because technically we're still semi alive and kicking it in some kind of burning torment afterlife. Which God do not teach, giving person's who has made a practice of sinning (any pleasure or pain) He only speaks of death or cutting off as their punishment. He talks about a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.(John 5:28,29) which means many sinners that have died STILL HAVE A HOPE. Which also means they could not be burning in a hellfire to this day.

They Bible says Satan is there too in HELL...which is ironic because the bible clearly talks about Satan's demise. he will receive everlasting cutting off...annihilation in the near future. So who is going to keep the FURNACE HOT if it is to be FOREVER..LOL

When Adam and Eve sinned....are they still burning a eternal death due to their sins? God said in the very day of your eating from it (forbidden fruit), THEY WOULD POSITIVELY DIE!!! Their punishment was only DEATH. That was their judgment.

When the land of Sodom and Gomorrah was committing their gross sins of immorality/homosexuality. God said he was going to rain down fire and sulfur and he did. To kill those wicked people of those Cities. Death was their punishment. So now after burning to death, he is going to make them burn some more in a eternal torment hell afterward. Really.....of what benefit is it.

The loving gift Jehovah God gives is life....and eternal life for those desiring to know and please God by following in Christ footsteps.John 17:3

The bible says "the soul that's sinning it itself will die". Death is the punishment of Sin. Not an eternal blazing fire of damnation....

Ohhh la la la...this is funny to me regarding the lack of sound reasoning that comes from people believing what is said in Church from one or two misinterpreted scriptures. Yet it is very sad because people are going to lose their lives believing in false teaching, derived from Church. There is a need to ask Jehovah God for his loving Guidance. Thru prayer, study, and meditation of his word. I'm sincerely wishing everyone well in their quest of knowledge and finding the One True Religion who teaches truth according to accurate knowledge of the bible.

God describes what false religion does:

(2 Timothy 3:5) having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.

(2 Timothy 3:7) always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

    NWT Bible and sound reasoning

Yes, I am one of JW.

  • Have you ever seen in the bible the reason why Jehovah's Witnesses go door to door?

Many people believe Jesus went preaching door to door, but many have not read it for themselves in the bible. As "Christians" imitators of Christ, if they believe this, why isn't everyone doing it? How do you personally response when Jehovah's Witnesses come to your door while preaching the Good New of God Kingdom which is God's will? First read scriptures, then reply (Incorporate your understanding of the scriptures too: Serious answer only! Please!

(Matthew 10:11-15) “Into whatever city or village YOU enter, search out who in it is deserving, and stay there until YOU leave. 12 When YOU are entering into the house, greet the household; 13 and if the house is deserving, let the peace YOU wish it come upon it; but if it is not deserving, let the peace from YOU return upon YOU. 14 Wherever anyone does not take YOU in or listen to YOUR words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off YOUR feet. 15 Truly I say to YOU, It will be more endurable for the land of Sod′om and Go·mor′rah on Judgment Day than for that city. (We know what happened to them.)

(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. (The end has not happened yet, still hope)

(Matthew 28:19-20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” (Jesus said "GO'!!! he will be with whom??? the conclusion of things has not taken place yet...so that includes now....those doing his father's will)

  • What is the difference between Hell and the Lake of fire? Why all this burning?

On different topics persons are always "shouting you're going to burn in hell" as a response to the Atheist, Homosexuals, and anything that goes against bible principles. I saw someone even mentioning Hitler burning in hell. I always saw in the bible such person who keep making a practice of things contrary to God law, will not inherit God's Kingdom. Not that they will burn for eternity. When God always brought about judgment or destruction he would just allow death to be their punishment....like the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, he rained down fire and sulfur. According to popular beliefs (Christendom) God is still now burning them some more for eternity...does that really makes since. The loving compassionate, God of justice, wisdom and power, who loving gave his son to die for mankind...so we can gain everlasting life; now enjoys seeing persons tormented for eternity in a hell fire. Then what about the lake of fire...wow some more burning....hummm. Help make sense of all this burning. Oh yeah Hitler...committed such terrible atrocities and killed millions of innocent persons. Is he still burning too? I am from Missouri, the show me state...use some scriptures ...sound reasoning is a plus.

  • Is it normal to wait 7 months after an AOS family based interview?

My husband and I live in Chicago. We are looking for someone to help inform us about the time frame regarding immigration process here in Chicago. We filed in July 2007. We are already outside of the processing time. After constant info pass visits, INS calls, and certified letters we have no insight to what is going on. We're just looking for answers. Also his temporary EAD I-94 expired (she took it at the interview), we didn't file for a new EAD because we were told we were approved in February 08. Our adjudicator was Ms. Christy Pendley, she did not stamp his passport said that's something they don't do anymore. She also said we should have the green card within 3 months, and she would put a rush on it. ha ha ha...Nothing yet. Please any information would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance.
