What is the best cleaning product to use on wood furniture?
I recently purchased an old wood coffee table from a yard sale. It seems to be in pretty good condition, except that there appears to be some old dirt/food caked on it. I'd like to be able to restore it to a nice glossy finish, but I'm not sure what cleaning products to use on it. Any help would be appreciated!

6 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhy does American Idol limit its contestants to 28 years old?
There have been plenty of people who have started a successful music career at a later age. Also, I would think that older contestants would be able to emote songs better, in general. There's nothing more frustrating than a young contestant singing a sad, lamenting song with a big smile and bouncing around the stage.
I was just wondering, has American Idol ever given a reason for this age limit?

2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoQuestions about sound waves?
If I'm playing my stereo, and I place an empty can on top of one of my speakers, it'll only rattle during certain parts of certain songs. Is this due to the wavelength of the sound being played? And if so, what exactly causes this to happen? (Scientifically speaking, of course).

5 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoDo I need to replace my computer's power supply?
Here's the problem: About every other day, my computer will suddenly turn off while I'm using it. It's like someone simply pulled the plug on it. After this happens, I need to let it sit for at least 15 minutes before unplugging it and plugging it back in. After restarting, it sometimes will go back off after 20-30 minutes, while other times it will stay on for a few days or so before shutting off. Does this sound like a power supply problem? Note: I've already tried changing power cords, with no change in the problem.

4 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoHow do you get the volume bar back on screen?
I have an old HP 503n. When I first bought this computer, any time I adjusted the volume, it would give me an on-screen display, such as this:
VOL: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
A long time ago, it disappeared, and hasn't shown an on-screen volume since. Does anyone know how to get this feature back?

1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoBeef Stroganoff recipe. How would this be for an addition?
I'm making beef stroganoff in my crockpot. I want to add a bit of a twist to it. I was thinking of adding a couple of teaspoons of Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard to the mix. Do you think that would taste good? Or should I just forget that whole idea?

5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoIs it safe to drink directly from a stream or river?
It seems like that's how many of our ancestors got their water. With all of the contaminants that may be present in the water (decaying life, fecal matter from aquatic life, mud, etc), it doesn't seem very healthy to drink.
Anyone got any input about this?
