Who is asking all these "4 pics, 1 word" questions, and what is the point?
It seems like a huge waste of time to me. (Not the people asking here -- I mean who is asking them and what is supposed to be taught/learned by the exercise?)
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoShould water heater be insulated when it's in a small unheated room?
I live in southeast SC, a very humid area. I always thought water heaters should be insulated, but someone said, "Yeah, if you want it to rust." I notice a water temperature difference, compared to handle position, with the seasons, so the ambient temperature is affecting its efficiency. What are your opinions re whether to insulate it and whether insulation increases/causes a WH to rust? Thank you.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat is the most effective, and inexpensive, way to insulate glass windows and?
still have them look nice from the exterior? Is there a film, or do I use multiple layers of fabric, or are there other products/options? Shutters are too expensive, unfortunately. Do wooden blinds make a significant difference? The windows fit well; I'm concerned about the R value of the glass. If you know R values of options, or any links to them, they'd be appreciated, too. Thank you.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow should I insulate a warped exterior door?
It fits perfectly within the frame, but there is a significant gap in the top, non-hinged corner through which exterior air enters. I now realize that the door is warped and that portion of it does not fit against the framing. What should I do to insulate the gap? Thank you.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat is the best way to insulate a wall switch on an exterior wall?
I have a multi-switch electrical switch panel on an exterior wall and can feel cold air entering the house through it. What type of insulation should I use and where (exterior side of box, sides of box, within the box where wires are)? I don't want to create a fire hazard. Thank you.
