  • Travel trailer towing with a 2000 Cadillac Escalade?

I have a 22' trailer weighs about 4500 lbs. Tow it with a 2000 Escalade which is a Denali with different emblems. I have heard that because of the gearing in a SUV as apposed to a pickup I will likely lose my transmission if I keep towing with it. Is this true? If it is what would be the solution? Lower gears in the front and rear differencials? A shift kit in the transmission? Or changing the transmission to a medium duty truck transmission?

  • Have a problem with a home security system. Any suggestions?

I have an older security system. Exxis is the brand with telephone connectors and wire not coax. I get audio but no picture from any of the cameras, three set up. I'm guessing it's a problem with the monitor and would like to know if it is worth repairing or just replacing. Any suggestions on how to find the problem myself? Three cameras with motion detectors run through recorder. Have contacted Exxis and the monitor is obsolete and they, of course, suggest replacing with one of their current models.

  • I have a seven month old Bull Mastiff who has developed loose stools. How can I help him?

I have wormed him and changed his food. I was feeding him Iams puppy and have changed to Canidae. I was thinking it could be parasites in the well water but the other two dogs (a long haired Chihuahua and a miniture Dachshund) don't have the same problem. We need to get past this as we live at the 3500 foot elevation and staying outside isn't an option. He was house broken but I believe the loose stools are the cause of the accidents. He'll go outside if we leave the sliding glass door open but as I said that's not an option in the winter.

  • Why is there such a heated debate on wearing or not wearing a helmet?

The general question refers to rude and derogitory answers as to why others can't see and conform to the answerers views. The underlying question is more to justification as to why ALL should conform. Given the pros and cons. And not just the superficial like noise, vision and weight, but medical as to neck injury, brain swelling which they don't prevent, hyperentention of the neck and the fact that they are tested for effectiveness at only 13 mph.

Are they of benefit? Without a doubt. But doesn't it come down to indiviual accidents? Whether you talk to the quadripaligent who received a broken neck from a frontal impact or the rider who slid into the curb or sharp object and spit his helmet open insted of his skull?

OK as you can tell I can go on and on. But I do genuinly whan to know the justifcation for feeling all should conform to one view or the other. And I will read and respect all honest views and replies.
