  • A quote about traveling the world only to find the love of your life at home?

This is the situation for my brother and he's getting married in a couple weeks. I'm the best man and would like to include a quotation with this sentiment. I know a good one must exist but haven't had any luck browsing online quote indexes.

Does anybody know any good ones? Heck, I'll give you 10 points if you can invent one that I'd like and quote you at the wedding! hahaha...

  • Ironic or deliberate?

First A-Rod and Borras take away a bit of the luster from the Red Sox championship win by announcing his "opt-out" during the final innings of the World Series.

Yesterday, a day that should have been dominated the baseball headlines what with A-Rod returning to the Bronx was completely overshadowed by Bonds' indictment.

Irony? Did MLB have a hand in this?

    My thoughts to come...

  • "The Office" without Dwight AND Andy??

I am big fan of "The Office." I thought last night's episode was pretty good but was a little disappointed to see that Dwight only had a small cameo performance (and in my opinion, it was still the funniest thing in show), and there was no Andy whatsoever.

Now I realize that it is Steve Carrell's show and I think he does a fantastic job as Michael, but for me, it's just not complete without lots of Dwight and Andy. The contrast between the crazy, over-the-top characters and the normal "every-day" people is an intricate part of the show's success, in my view.

So my question, could "The Office" ever function without one of these two characters. Could it function without both? Are there any other characters' departures who would potentially cripple the show? i.e: Jim, Pam, Jan, Kevin, etc.

  • What is Indy Rock?

I know that this is a precarious genre name, because most popular bands that we regard as "Indy" are usually already signed to major labels by the time they are mainstreamed. But I guess my question is:

What is YOUR definition of Indy Rock? Is it "underground" music? Can it be defined by a certain type of sound? Or does it strictly according to label status?

Also: Who are your favorite Indy bands?

  • Does it bother you...?

...when people give a "thumbs down" to your well-thought-out, nicely-written, reasonably intelligent answer?

I mean, I realize that's the game, but MAN, why do there have to be so many haters ou there?

If somebody gives one of your good answers the "thumbs-down" how likely are you to go on a massive "t-d" streak yourself?

haha... just venting... Thanks for your answers, I'll try not to "t-d" anybody...

  • "The Office" Fans?

I've been catching up by watching Season 3 of the office on DVD while continuting to watch the new episodes. I have a question. Why does Michael HATE Toby so much?!! Did they ever give a sound explanation for this? I can't figure it out. I mean, Toby is definitely one of the nicest guys in the office and the classic underdog figure. But Michael is always horrible to him! Why is that??

  • Fiance Visa: Worth it or should I just marry her?

I am an American. She is Brazilian. As much as I love Brazil, I can't make a decent living as a teacher the way I can in the States. For this reason, I have convinced her to move with me back to the US.

The dilemma: Although we both know that marriage is inevitable, I would really like to hold off marrying her until she can meet my family.

The question: How LONG will it take to file for and see through to completion, the fiancee visa? How MUCH MONEY should it be? I have already done some research but have seen many different answers. Would it just be easier to marry? Help!!

  • Which playoff teams from last season are seriously improved and in better shape THIS season.?

I ask this question as a Met fan, but can not honestly tell yet if they are better or worse this year. I'd say they're about the same, and should improve with a move or two and especially with the return of Pedro.

I'd like to hear all (intelligent) thoughts...

  • What would have to happen for you to give up baseball forever?

It's no secret that MLB had an extremely low popularity rate immediately following the Players strike in 1995. Shortly thereafter, the homerun race between Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa revitalized excitement and popularity for the sport. Now, it is generally excepted that all of those results were garnered through illegal, performance enhancing drugs. Once again, the sport lost more credibility as many fans felt cheated and disenfranchised.

My question, if you still love baseball (which you obviously do if you're reading this) what would have to happen, IF ANYTHING, for you to swear off of Baseball forever.

Thanks for reading, and please have some fun with this one...
