I am planning on running an approximately 100 ft. ethernet cable from my upstairs computer that I use for gaming downstairs to the router. I am wondering if a cable that long would cause any latency in my connection, or possible affect the quality of it.

I know that the C: Drive is usually your main drive, and the D: Drive is just a partition for the files required to factory reset your computer. I just bought a new ASUS laptop and my C: Drive is named OS and has 372 GB, and the D: Drive is named Data and has 542GB free of 542. Why is it so large? Is it intended for me to place other files in it? Will it affect the speed of applications installed in D:?

Does anybody know where I can find the code for a premade text editor (like the kind you find on forums) that I can put onto a website? I can use HTML, PHP, and Javascript

I am creating a Rock, Paper, Scissors game in Python, and I would like to make it so that a window pops up with 3 buttons on it, each saying rock, paper, and scissors, and clicking one of them will return an input to the program. I'm picturing something like the default windows info message, the kind with the buttons Yes, No, Cancel. How can I do that? What function do I use? How do I use it?

I want to upgrade to windows 10. I know that next month, it will be released and right now, you are able to reserve a copy of Windows 10. I am trying to figure out to do that, and I find out that you need to click on an item in your system tray to open a window to reserve a copy. I am currently not seeing that icon in my tray. I have made sure to install KB3035583 and KB2976978. I have the GWX folder in my system32, but the icon just doesn't show up. Does anybody know how to make it appear? I have run Windows Update and installed all available updates for my computer. I have a Toshiba Satellite L55-B. Intel Core i5, 64 bit with 8 GB of RAM. Is my computer is not supported, or is something else wrong? Please help. Thanks.

I usually record gameplay videos with Dxtory, and when I finish, a 45 minute long video can be up to 150GB. I have tried downloading codecs, but they barely reduce the size. I have chosen for it to save in .avi format 960 x 600 30fps. Does anybody know why the size is so large? How can I fix it?

I know I am not the only person with this problem. There is no way to upload a file size that large onto YouTube.

Something has gone wrong with my computer.

It is a Windows 8.1 Toshiba Laptop.

When I click on the start button, nothing happens, I now have to press the Windows key on my keyboard to open the start menu. Also, when I move my cursor to the right corner of the screen and move it up along the edge, the charms bar should open, but that doesn t happen anymore either.

It was working fine before I started up the computer this time, can anybody tell me what I can do?

A section of a simple program I am working on will require the player to select a number from 1 to 3. I want python to detect if the number is not 1, 2, or 3 using an if statement.

if variable != 1 or variable !=2 or variable !3:

do stuff

That is what I have, and it does not work. Now matter what, it will always run what is in "do stuff."

I have had this problem ever since I switched to a new laptop. My computer is the Toshiba Satellite L-55B, with 8 GM RAM, 64-bit Windows 8, 750 GB HD, and Intel Core i5-4210U.

Whenever I am playing games, doesn't matter which, the audio is fine normally. But once everything is quiet, and all I would normally hear is the ambience, the sound suddenly gets muffled, and as soon as something loud sounds near me, the sound is back to normal. The effect is almost like taking off on an airplane. Your ear gets muffled and you can't hear much, and then it pops and everything is back to normal.

I have tried switching headphones, updating audio drivers, and even turning down the audio quality, but nothing is working.

(Keep in mind that on this computer there is only one audio port, and it can be used for both input and output.)

We have all seen those websites that claim to generate gift card codes for services like Amazon, Walmart, and Steam. When you click on the Generate button, it makes you complete a survey or download something. I have never bothered to do any of those, but I was just wondering, has anybody every done them? What happens afterwards, and do you really get a free gift card? ?They always have little boxes to the side with convincing-looking quotes of customers in there. But I have heard many accounts of where people got the gift card, and others say it is a scam. Please, I only need answers from people that actually finished the survey.

How do I park my hard drive? What software do I need?

Just curious, I know y=mx+b results in a line, and y=ax^2+bx+c makes a parabola, but what would higher equations look like, like

y=ax^3+bx^2+cx+d

or even higher?

I am trying to make a program using Python. It is just a simple one without a GUI. It is supposed to ask for the Username and Password. Everything works perfectly, except for one thing.

It actually shows the password that is inputted.

Is there any way so that when you input a digit of the password, it shows up as an asterisk (*) ?

I am using a solid body electric guitar, and I am wondering if distortion can damage or destroy my amplifiers at medium volume after extensive use. I mean distortion by turning up the gain with no pedal.

I would be browsing the internet, and EVERY TIME I click on a link, 2 tabs open up. One for an advertisement, one for the link I click. I see double underlined blue words on every page that when I hover over it, a popup ad appears. Sometimes, a random dialog box comes up telling me to upgrade my browser or my flash player to the newest version, but it is just some random program not even related to the popup.Also, banner ads are appearing on pages that are not supposed to have any ads. Please help, I do not know what to do, it is so distracting and happens all the time. Even when I don't click anything, it sometimes happens. My Antivirus did not detect anything after a full scan.
