I have a BA in History with a emphasis on ancient Greece and Rome. I also haunted the Classics department as I loved (and still love) mythology. My first job out of university was working as an archivist. I show Dachshunds in AKC performance events -- dog agility and earthdog. I've owned both sizes (minis and standards) as well as both smooths and wires. I have taught dog agility for several years (but am not currently) My dog, Zak, is a standard wire. He has a degenerative disease called Cerebellar Abiotrophy and will have to be put down in a year or two. But right now - he is still enjoying life.

  • Does Queen Elizabeth II still go out horse-back riding?

I know that she has not ridden in the Trooping of the Colour ceremonies for a decade or more (using a carriage instead). But does she still ride for pleasure when out at Balmoral or is she too old now?

  • When Camilla broke her leg - did they ponder putting her down?

Sorry - could not resist -- was finally catching up with my reading from the weekend and saw she had taken a tumble while hiking in Scotland.

  • Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop screen goes dark & then recovers....Thoughts on troubleshooting?

Ok - I'm a total PC/Laptop newbie. The screen goes dark 10 times a night and then recovers. A message comes up saying: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I don't think I am doing anything that stresses the PC. Just surfing the web or viewing Facebook. I have a couple of the Dummies series books (Vista for... & Laptops for....) but nothing seems to apply.

The Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720, runs Vista, has Norton,

    has Intel processor Core (T) 2 Duo CPu T7250 @ 2. GHz

3.00 GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GC.....

See - I'm babbling because I don't know what to look for -- Any Thoughts? Thanks Yahoo guys & gals

  • Do you want your TV viewing choice taken away? PETA seeks to have USA Network drop Westminster KC Dog Show?

So - what are your thoughts on this issue?? Personally, I have purebred dogs and I have shown in agility (NADAC, AKC & USDAA). I support spay/neuter laws if an intact dog owner pays higher licensing fees or must have a breeding permit.

But why does PETA (or any other organization for that matter) have the right to dictate my TV viewing habits? I'm an adult. I can make informed decisions. I can decide what I should or should not watch. Thoughts, Y!Aers?
