4 AnswersEngineering8 years agoVolume of the solid? (triple integrals)?
Find the volume of the solid D between the cone z=(x^2+y^2)^(1/2) and the paraboloid z=12-x^2-y^2
I decided to change it to polar coordinates, split them into 2 volumes, then add |||r*rdzdrdθ (R={(z,r,θ):0<3,0<3,0<2π) and |||(12-r^2)rdzdrdθ (R={(z,r,θ):3<12,0<3,0<2π) together.
my final answer was 1323π/2 but I think this answer is too big?? How do I solve this?
|=integral
1 AnswerMathematics8 years agoPhysics help? (mastering physics)?
A physics major is working to pay his college tuition by performing in a traveling carnival. He rides a motorcycle inside a hollow transparent plastic sphere. After gaining sufficient speed, he travels in a vertical circle with a radius of 13.4 . The physics major has a mass of 68.0 , and his motorcycle has a mass of 40.0 .
a) What minimum speed must he have at the top of the circle if the tires of the motorcycle are not to lose contact with the sphere?
b) At the bottom of the circle his speed is twice the value calculated in part A. What is the magnitude of the normal force exerted on the motorcycle by the sphere at this point?

So here's a little scenario:
Theres a high school reunion party with me, my gf, her ex, and a bunch of friends. We have been together for almost a year but she has been with her ex in the past for probably about a month (happened a year ago).
Would it be appropriate for me and my gf to avoid her ex? Me and him dont really have conflicts. I dont think he misses my gf since he broke up with her.

1 AnswerChemistry9 years agoWhat is a possible career for me?
I need to create a powerpoint for a school project on a career that best fits me.
currently, im taking AP chemistry and AP calculus AB and is currently doing well in them. I have in interest in sports and body building. I am a senior in high school and is on the wrestling team (first year) and have been running track/cross country for 3 years. I take a weight training class and most of the students call me fit and "buff". On the day i have chemistry and calculus (my only 2 APs), i look forward to going to school because they are my favorite classes.
I want to major in something that relates with the human body, chemistry, math, and possibly biology (havent taken AP bio). I dont think I can pursue in a PH.D since it can be quite vigorous for me.
Some careers that i'v been thinking about are sport trainers, physical chemists, and meteorologists.
