  • Unemployment interview AFTER stopped certifying?

    I recently received notice of a phone interview with California unemployment about 30 weeks after I opened claim.

    I stopped certifying for benefits about 3-4 weeks ago (~26 weeks into claim) since I returned to full time employment. Technically, my claim is still open, I just haven't collected benefits. Additionally, I took my job knowing we would have 3 unpaid weeks off in first 8 weeks for the holidays. I DID answer honestly and certify for benefits to receive money for those 3 weeks. (To my knowledge it is valid to claim unpaid weeks when you take a part time job/employer not offering full 40 hours)

    I'm thinking I will go back and certify for the weeks 3-4 weeks ago, claiming "I returned to full time work," and just ignore the call. ( I keep reading phone interviews can only do a disservice)

    Is this a valid strategy?

    Are they simply trying to verify I'm back working full time or it something more sinister?

    Is it possible they have questions regarding the validity of the 3 weeks I claimed while not offered full time work?

  • Recieve unemployment for temporary closure?

    My employer will have a two week unpaid closure for Christmas. We are not laid off but will not recieve pay for the two weeks.

    Will i be able to recieve unemployment for the two weeks in California?

    Additionally, I have an already open and active unemployment claim that is valid through June 2020. Hering from an union electrician friend, he is able to simply submit his weekly certification for any weeks he is out of work. (He also maintains and active case though he goes on and off work) I’m essentially seeing if i too can keep my claim open and certify for benifits the two weeks i’ll be out of work just as he does.

  • Left turn into a driveway and parked car in oncoming direction starts to move and causes collision. Who is at fault?

    If I am making a left turn into a driveway, signal on of course, and a parked car in the opposite direction begins moving straight while I am mid left turn. The car pulling out of the parking space hits the left turning car, who is at fault? Typically we assume straight traffic has right of way but would this be the fault of the parked car ignoring the left turning cars signal. More so the idea of roadway hiarchy is why I am uncertain.

  • Are people driving faster the in the past?

    In particular, i want to compare today to the 1990s. Especially in California. Today, people usually drive 80 in the fare left, 75 in second to left, 70ish in the righter lanes, give or take on specific routes and conditions. [speed limit's 65, btw, but that's the driving culture here].

    When i asked my mom about the 90s, she said people usually topped in the 70s, and the righter lanes often stay at or bellow the speed limit. We live in San Diego, California. She even mentioned that before, a 12-14 miles drive from the beach areas inland to La Mesa seemed SO far away. Now a days its not seen as 'out there,' it would actually be considered in the centre city area (San Diego and touching cities.)

    I'm open to responses, even if not spesific to 90s California.

  • Differential Equation with linear relation?

    There is a linear relations between the increase in height and the decrease in temperature of a mountain. The temperature decreases 8 degrees per every 1000 meters. Starting at 20 degrees at 0m.

    0m -> 20 degrees

    1000m -> 12 degrees

    2000m -> 4 degrees.

    How would i express this as a differential equation? (using the derivative symbol form calculus)

    I already made the "linear equation," -> Y= (-8/1000)X + 20
