  • Do you remember a Twilight Zone style show named something like Real or Unreal?

It showed several mini episodes and at the end of the hour told you which horror stories were based on true stories and which were completely fictional. I can't remember exactly when it aired but I think it was about 10 years ago.

I'm looking for the name of the show and hopefully a link to a wiki page or something about it.

  • How long do you bake a 3" strawberry rhubarb pie for?

I made a 9" strawberry rhubarb pie baked at 425°F for 20 minutes and at 350°F for 55 minutes. I had a bit leftover and made a mini pie in a 3" pie plate. How long and what temperatures should I bake it?

  • Beer free slug traps?

I want to put slug traps in my garden but I can't use anything that would harm curious small children. That cuts out pesticides and beer. What else can be put in to lure slugs to their doom?

  • What are the difference in rules for comma usage between Canada and America?

My anthropology professor mentioned that the rules are different while going over what she expected for an essay in her class. None of my English professors have ever mentioned this.

What are the differences? A link to a reliable online Canadian grammar guide would also be appreciated.

  • Does a high margin of error or confidence interval mean that the statistical claim is generally unreliable?

Using made up statistics, if a study showed that 50,000 people were killed by carbon monoxide in Cambodia is 1997 with a confidence interval of .95 and a margin of error of +/- 45,000 should this study be treated as generally unreliable? And please tell me why. I think I know the answer but I don't know how to explain why.

  • Internetantispy.com keeps hijacking Firefox?

Firefox keeps randomly directing me to this page. I've cleared all my cookies multiple times and run ClamXav to no avail. The title of the web page is trust soldier, the same as a Trojan virus, and it creates a pop up where I can only click OK and presumably download something. I have to use force quit to exit Firefox because it won't let me close the window. My task bar with file, edit, and whatnot disappears entirely.

I'm on a Mac running OS X. How can I fix this, preferably without having to reinstall Firefox. I have a lot of bookmarks and saved passwords.

  • What's a nickname or pet name for a little girl in German?

Please post the names and what they mean in English. I was looking for an affectionate term that a father, uncle, older brother, or someone with that type of relationship would use but any pet names would be good.

  • Should I get an iLap, Cushtop, or something else for my laptop?

I want to get a cooling pad to keep my laptop from overheating and to spare my thighs. My primary concerns are that it keep my laptop cool and it won't be uncomfortable on my lap. I don't plan to use the pad while it's on my desk.

My computer is a 13" MacBook. I am leaning towards a Cushtop or an iLap but I'm not sure which is better or if they both suck. Other suggestions are welcome but I'd prefer a brand I can pick up from a store rather than order online.

  • Which philosophy course is best for a law student?

I have to take one of four philosophy courses as part of my criminology degree, which I plan to use to go to graduate school and study law. I do not have a specific area of law in mind yet. Which course sounds the most useful for a law student?

Please tell me why you think so and if you've studied law. Thanks.

    Course 1- Introduction to Philosophy

Students will study central topics in the major areas of philosophy. They will examine a variety of philosophical perspectives on issues such as mind-body problem, the nature of reality, the limits of human knowledge, morality and moral judgement, and the justification of religious beliefs.

Course 2- Confronting Moral Issues: Introduction to Ethics

Students will consider the meaning and justification of moral judgments by examining various views on whether or not morality has an objective basis. They will be introduced to leading theories of ethical conduct and will learn to apply these theories to contemporary moral problems and workaday situations.

    Course 3- Critical Thinking

Students will study the process of argument reconstruction and evaluation. They will focus on skills necessary that will enable them to distinguish argumentative from non-argumentative writing, rationally persuasive from rhetorically persuasive arguments, and strong from weak arguments. Students will be expected to analyze arguments from a variety of contexts such as newspaper editorials, advertising and surveys.

Course 4 -Introduction to Formal Logic

Students will study the basic techniques of formal deductive logic. They will learn the semantics and syntax of two artificial languages—sentential logic ( SL ) and predicate logic ( PL )—with emphasis given to the former. With the aid of the formal techniques learned in this course, students will gain insight into the nature of rational argument and sound reasoning.

  • How long do cherry tree seedlings take to grow to maturity?

I have 3 cherry tree seedlings that recently sprouted. If I were to keep them in their pot until they grew a bit larger then transplant them to my yard, how many years would it take until they started producing fruit?

I don't know what type of cherry tree they are if that makes a difference. They're just seedlings from an existing tree in my yard.

  • HP Pavillion dv6500 won't charge?

The laptop registers that the charger is being plugged in and the little light there turns on but the light that that shows the laptop is being charged remains off. The battery is completely drained and the laptop will not turn on. It worked fine yesterday. Only previous complaints were a line of red pixels vertically and the laptop has been getting hot easily. The person who owns it said she wasn't sure if the fan was working. The laptop is out of warranty.

Any ideas on what's wrong with the laptop and how, or if, it can be fixed?

  • How do I claim income from an employer on my income taxes if I didn't receive a pay stub?

I was paid by the Canadian government for working in the 2008 national election. I didn't receive a T4 or anything because it was under $500, I just have a pay stub. Is there a specific thing I should enter it as, or should I do it under other income?

  • Right to refuse medication?

In Canada, does a minor have to right to refuse medication? Or can the parent force or trick them into taking the medication? For example, slipping it in their food or drink.

I'd appreciate it if you could point me to a site I could cite. I need the answer for an assignment.

  • Canadian election party platforms?

Does anyone know where I can find a comparison of the platforms of the Canadian parties running in the election, other than the party's website? Something in simple language so I don't have to translate political language into plain English please.

    Not the US election!

  • University school supplies?

I will be taking English and some art classes at university this fall. I will be waiting until classes start to buy my art supplies but I need to buy school supplies for English. I have a laptop to write essays and such, but I'm not sure what else I'll need. Are there any good lists out there? All I'm sure I need to buy are pens, pencils, a binder or notebook, highlighters, those little sticky tabs to find a page, a day planner (I suck at keeping track of dates), and report covers.

  • Tokidoki: Scuola vs Abbraccio?

I need a new backpack for uni and I'm looking at buying one of my favourite brands, tokidoki by LeSportsac. I don't live anywhere near a store that sells them though and I would need to buy it online, so I need some advice from people who've actually worn the backpacks before.

I want to know if you prefer the old style of backpack, the Scuola, or the new style of backpack, the Abbraccio, and why. Please don't use the different prints as a factor in making your decision, I just want to know for the backpack itself.
