what should i do? im afraid to tell my husband, should i wait it out or should i confront my FIL?

this year i have , through my employer, a 403b and 401a. i will leaving this position so i plan to roll this over to a traditional IRA and convert immediately this to a ROTH.

I also would like to contribute to my SEP IRA and contribute to nondeductible traditional IRA.

1. is my contribution of $5500 to the nondeductible traditional IRA limited by either the 403b/401k for this year? or will it be an issue next year when i file my taxes then?

2. my SEP IRA contribution will be low(around $1000). what is the most i can put into a traditional IRA(nondeductible), if i am able to do that at all?

3. if i am able to contribute to a nondeductible traditional IRA for this tax season, what line do i enter this on my form 8608? or does this need to be entered for next year on the 8606?

4. When is it a good idea to start merging the different IRAs into one? or is it better to keep them separate? i have all my IRAs with the same bank but i would like to consolidate them into one big account after they have been converted to ROTHS? is that a possibility or a wise move?

i have a huffy 10 speed and it has a steel frame which is really weighing it down, i wanted to know if there is anything i can possibly to make it a little lighter. it pretty heavy and hard to move forward, otherwise the bike is in great shape, i have had it for ages and i would hate to replace for that reason

any suggestions?

i have a huffy 10 speed mountain bike, i have had it for over 15 years. it has served me reasonably well, but now i would like to do some more heavy duty riding(ie on trails).

i noticed that on paved services i ride REALLy slow. at first i thought it was just out of shape. but i tried a 'specialized' road bike from a cycle shop onthe same trail and was able to ride MUCH faster. i was told that my huffy is a very heavy bike(made of steel) and the new bikes are made of aluminum which make for easier riding

that being said , any recommendations on what kind of mountain bike brand to get which wont cost too much?(ie less than 400bucks)

i have a samsung smart tv which allows me to plug external hd's and play off them directly.

my old hd's are

1. 1tb toshiba(2010)-does not play

2. 500gb iomega(2007)- plays

3. 500gb iomagic(2007)-plays

i was looking to get a new external and wanted to get a samsung external hd 3tb, but wasnt sure if this would play on the samsung tv? does anyone know or have experience using this combination?

My laptop is having problems connecting wirelessly. at my apartment, it connects to the internet via tethering the data from my cell phone. the cell phone functions as the router. anyways, when i got to my parents house, i tried to hook into their cable via the wireless router. my laptop says it connects to the router but that it cannot connect to the internet. when i connect the laptop directly to the hard line, the computer connected. so anyways i replaced my parents' home router to see if that was the issue. but im getting the same problem. also i brought the same laptop to friends house today and it connect to his internet but worked with the hardline. any clue as to what might be causing the problem?

so i have a dilemma

i did my taxes using the free fillable forms on irs.gov...when i submitted them by e-file, initially it seemed all was ok. i sent a my check with voucher in the regular mail. i just checked my email and see that the e-file submission didnt take. i tried to fix the error but its not making sense(its saying my ssn on my w2 is not the same primary ssn but i double checked it and it is).

so anyway, id like to just mail in my 1040 and the schedules and forms , but since i already submitted my check, should i send them another check or just write a note? i dont have the check number or a copy of the check so im not sure what to do.. help!

im looking to open a SEP IRA for the tax deduction

what is the amount i can contribute? is it just 25% of 40000= 10000

or will i need to do a net profit on the income and then multiply it by 25%

also, can i contribute to my traditional ira? can i put in 5k into that as well and get the deduction?
