Should I complain to the owner about a disappointing Pedicure or just never go back there?
I went to a local nail Salon for a pedicure and I was very disappointed the experience. It was your typical nail salon, so I was not expecting Spa level service, but still this was the worst pedicure I've ever had. (I usually get pedicures at this type of salon.)
I'd been to his nail salon a few times before, but I walked in without an appointment, A few months ago, I had great pedicure there, but I was told that women no longer works there. So a new girl did my pedicure. She told me she had been only there about a month, but I wonder if she'd ever worked a salon before.
Anyway, the Pedicure seemed shorter than I expected. She just seem to rush through it. She did not even massage my legs and feet(my favorite part), she just rub some lotion in for less a minute. And usually, they rub your back,, while your toes are drying. She did not even stick around, she went on a break. I did tip her, but only 10%. (I usually give15%-20%)
And now that I'm home and my nails are dry, I noticed she did not file them evenly. Maybe I'm just being nit picky.
Oh, It's not a language, issue. In fact most of the women in this salon, speak English as Second language, but this women (Girl really, she was very young) was clearly American born.
So should I call the owner and complain or just go somewhere else next time. I would hate to be the reason this girl gets fired, but she needs to learn how to do her job. There are dozens of other nails salons near by, so I have no loyality to any one of them
4 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style1 decade agoWhy is reply with original text not working in AOL 9.1?
I have two screen names in AOL, both were set for "reply with original text" in AOL 9.0. However, for one screen name it was not working. I double checked my mail setting and reply with original was checked. But every time I replied, I would just get a blank e-mail. It worked fine for my other screen name.
Since I have AOL for broadband, I can't get any tech support from them. So, I read about the new AOL 9.1, in which reply with original text is the default now and you can't even choose not to anymore. I thought upgrading would solve the problem. But it did not. One screen name still works fine, the other still comes up blank when I try to reply. Is there a setting somewhere else that I need to change? Is there someone I can e-mail at AOL for help without having to sign-up for a paid plan?
1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade agoHas anyone ever actually gotten paid by readerspaid.com?
I signed up for this website because someone here said you can really make money on it. Well, I haven't been able to even find out becuase everytime I try to login I get an error message. I've e-mailled them dozens of times, but I've NEVER got a response. I get e-mails from them everyday reminding me to login, which I can't do. I half expected this to be a scam, but I did not expect this. At this point, I just want to stop the e-mails. Has anyone had any experience with them and how can I contact them in a way that they will actually get back to me?
1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade agoHow do I set-up an Inflatable pool?
I want to set-up my inflatable pool this weekend, but it is a pain to set-up.
Does anyone have tips on making it easier? How to make sure the ground is level. Getting the pool spreadout evenly. Any advise to make it go smoothly. I'm basically alone in setting it up as my husband want nothing to do with. (Unless I wanted bring it to the dump..LOL)
Also any tips on taking it down and storing for the winter would be great too. Summers are too short in the NE.
Thanks
2 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoWhere can I rent a heavy duty truck?
Does anyone know any place in the NYC area (NYC, Westchester, Putnam or Dutchess county) where I can rent a heavy-duty pick-up truck? It must be able to tow a large excavator and it’s trailer. Our Ford F-350 was not able to tow it. I have tried many equipment rental places, truck rental companies like Ryder, and all the car rental companies in my area already. I’d even be OK with hiring someone to move it.
Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Local Businesses1 decade agoWhat is a good brand of peanut butter for a toddler?
My daughter is 15 months and she has already has had peanut butter. (A family member gave her a peanut butter cookie by mistake. Luckily we have no history of food allegies in the family and she had no reaction. Plus her doctor had said peanut butter was OK at her 1 year check-up).
So now, which brand is best. I don't really care for Skippy or Jif, as they add suger and might even have trans fat. The all-natural, which is what I eat, seems to chunky for a baby. I don't want her to choke. Is there a brand that is very smooth, yet all natural?
Thanks for all your answers.
18 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoWhy do you think they changed David's name on the Roseanne show?
Did any else notice that the1st time David (Johnny Gelecki) appeared on the show, he was introduced as Kevin. The next time he was in an episode, his name was changed to David. I was just wondering if anyone knew why the writers changed his name.
4 AnswersTelevision1 decade agoHow can we get fast food restaurants to offer more vegetarian choices?
I had heard that Mcdonalds was test marketing a veggie burger, but now according to their website, they will not be adding a veggie burger to their menu. It seems that most sit down restaurants are now offering more vegetarian options then ever, while most fast food "burger" joints are getting rid of veggie options. Yes, places like Subway, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are very veggie friendly, but I'm married to a meat eater and sometimes he wants a burger. Some Burger Kings offer a veggie burger, but not all. McDonalds, Wendys, and Arbys have stopped offering full size garden salads, in place of chicken topped salads. I just want to be able to order off the menu and not have explain my eating habits to the employees.
Sound off vegetarians..they will add it, if there is a demand.

27 AnswersFast Food1 decade agoWhat should I do when I see an injured animal?
I saw an injured deer lying by the side of the road today. I was not sure whom I should call. I knew if I called the police, that they would just come and shoot it. I know the animal might have been so badly injured that putting it down would be the humane thing to do. I'd still feel better if I knew of an alternative agency to call; someone who might try to save the animal. And I know better than to try to approach the injured animal myself. In the end I called the police, figuring it was been to call them than to do nothing and leave the animal suffering in pain.
23 AnswersCivic Participation1 decade agoCan Dysgraphia be cured?
After struggling with writing problems my whole life, I've finally realized that I suffer from Dysgraphia. I've been doing research, and I have all the classic symptoms; poor handwriting, difficultly spelling, omitting words or parts of words when writing, loosing track of my thoughts while writing. I had a very hard time in school with any kind of writing assignment. The school told my parents they could not help because I was doing fine in other subjects. They told them I was just being lazy. With the help of my family and friends, I did mange to get a college degree.
But I still have trouble. I need to proofread everything I write many times, but I still fail to notice my mistakes. It is like I read what I meant to write, instead of what is really there. It's effecting my job and personal life as it takes me a long time to write even a short e-mail. Does anyone have suggestions or tips that could help me overcome this problem? It's really embarrassing. Total time to write this: 35M
2 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoHow can I add Blackstrap Molasses to food without having it effect the taste?
I'd like to start adding blackstrap molasses to my food, just to get some extra iron. I'm a vegetarian (not vegan). I've never been anemic, but last time I was pregnant, my doctor put me on extra iron, just in case. I'm trying to get pregnant again and I want to make sure I'm eating right.
I've tried adding to oatmeal, but it's got a very strong taste, that I don't like. What else can I try?
7 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoWhere can I bring old VHS tapes be recycled?
In doing our spring cleaning, we have deceided that we can get rid of about 50 or so old VHS tapes. I don't want to just throw them away, I'd like to recycle them. None of them are pre-recorded, so I can't give them a thirft shop. We have a DVR through cable TV now, so we never need to tape shows anymore. I suggested that we offer them on Freecycle, but my husband is not comfortable with that. And it has to be free for us to do. I can't afford to pay to ship them to a recycling company. Any ideas? Thanks!
2 AnswersEnvironment1 decade agoIs it illegal for supermarkets to require you to sign-up for their card in order to get the weekly specials?
It seems that most supermarkets now require you to have their "bonus club" card in order to get the discounts in their weekly flyer. Since I shop about 5 different supermarkets, I have signed-up for all of their cards. However, sometimes I go to a supermarket whose card I don't have. Usually the cashier will scan his or her own card, if you ask. But recently I had a cashier refuse. He said his manager would not allow it. The manager refused to come over. Can they do this? Is it legal (in NY) to refuse to give a customer a sale price because they have not signed-up for your store's card? This seems like discrimination. What if I don't want to give out my personal information? Or what if I don't live near your store and don't plan on shopping there often? It just seems like poor customer service and that it should be illegal. Does anyone know for sure?
10 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhy do I need an "extra" exam to get contacts?
I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years now. Since I wear disposables, I need to order new contacts every years or so. I know I need to get an exam every year, to check for problems and see if my prescription has changed. No problem, this is covered by my insurance. But then I was told is would cost an extra $150 for a “special” contact lens exam, in order to get new contacts. I've been going to this same eye doctor for most of life and I've never had to pay for an extra exam. The doctor did move into a new larger office a few years ago and got a lot of new fancy equipment. So I wonder if they are just trying to "milk" some money from me.
Is it common practice to have to pay out of pocket for this exam? I can't afford the cost of the exam and to buy a year's supply of contacts. Does anyone know of a cheaper way to get contacts? I have my prescription, but it’s “expired”, 1-800- contacts won’t fill it.
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoHow can I safely (w/o toxic chemicals) remove baked-on grease from a Teflon coated (Calphalon) baking sheet?
Over the years of use, my baking sheets have become coated with black grease. I've tried soaking the pans in hot, soap water and scrubing with a Dobie, but it does not remove any of the baked-on stuff. Is there anything I can do, or should I just replace them?
