Is $800 labor cost high for installing am exterior back door?
I hired a contractor to remove my old exterior door and install my new one. He billed me for $800 and when I asked why it is so much he gave me this list. He worked on the door for 2 hours... I don't see how $800 is justified. Thank you for all your help.
Labor Breakdown:
Pick up door and material
Remove existing storm door
Remove existing door & frame
Cut out existing framing
Reconstruct frame opening
Remove brick molding from frame
Rip jamb extenders
Fasten jamb extenders to frame
Reinstall brick molding to frame
Apply sill sealer to stone sill
Apply silicone caulk to back of brick mold
Set frame into place
Level frame and fasten to new framing
Install door in frame and align
Prep door frame for locks
Install keyed lock and dead bolt
Clean up Debri
Load debri in truck
Unload debri in dumpster
Cut exterior trim pcs. @ shop
Install exterior trim pcs. and caulk

Hey, I am a 20 year old applying for FAFSA for when I go to school in the fall. I am independent from my parents, but according to FAFSA guidelines, I must file as a dependent. Is there any way around this so I can file as independent? I was also wondering if I do have to file with my parents, is there any aid for students whose parent was laid off late in the previous year?
