    The Finance department (http://bit.ly/eqDyKU ) said the government expects to get as much as P 58.5 billion in revenues from excise tax in cigarettes under the proposed sin tax reform filed.

    The tax proposals filed by Iloilo Rep. Niel Tupas and Batanes Rep. Dina Abad seek to increase the excise tax of low-priced cigarettes brands to P14 per pack and P28.30 per pack of high-priced cigarettes by January 1, 2012.
