  • My hands became red and tingly after rolling peanut butter cookies - am I allergic...?

...or is there another explanation? Perhaps another ingredient causes a reaction like that? Baking soda ? etc...

  • Apartment can't rent to full-time student because of some tax credit thing?

I'm desperately looking for an apartment, I finally found somewhere with available units and the woman told me they don't rent to full time students because of some tax credit thing? What is that? And is there a way around it? My hubby works in Canada... can I just tell them that he just works out of country for months at a time?

  • US Citizen marrying a Canadian... Can he come live with me (in the US) while his visa is going through?

It says on the USCIS site:

"Can My Spouse Come to the United States to Live While the Visa Petition Is Pending?

If you are a U.S. citizen, once you file Form I-130, your spouse is eligible to apply for a nonimmigrant K-3 visa. This will entitle him or her to come to the United States to live and work while the visa petition is pending."

How exactly does that work? Can he come immediately after I turn this form in? Does anyone have any experience with this situation?

We aren't married yet, but plan to in Canada, because if he came to the states to marry me and then planned on staying that would be fraud, I'm aware. I just don't understand the specifics of this process and the USCIS site lists no email. (I'm abroad right now - Germany - and cannot go into an office.)

  • A guy I met online wants to fly across the Atlantic to meet me... It's awesome, but I'm nervous?

We met through eHarmony. I'm an american student living in Germany and he's from Canada. We've been emailing back and forth for about a week now, looong loooooong emails. We pretty much agree on everything and have a lot in common... He's cute, intelligent and funny... But for some reason I still feel anxious...

Has anyone ever had a similar situation?

  • I don't know whether I should leave or not?

Been together 5 years, lived together for 3 - next to his alcoholic parents. His parents always seem to come first even when our household is in disarray. Perhaps because he relies on them for financial support. He's 30, I'm 21 and going to university. He doesn't have a degree or anything, just a GED and no job. I worked for the first year I moved in while he sat on his *** playing World of Warcraft everyday, also leaving me to most of the household chores. He has changed since, is going back to college this fall. But he's let himself go - gained 30-40 pounds, won't go to the gym. He gets angry at me for not wanting to talk to his alcoholic parents when they're hammered - yells at me for this. I'm not sure I'm in love anymore. I find myself wanting to leave sometimes, but other times I still love him.

  • What do I do? Boyfriend doesn't care that his mom is a total craphead to me.?

His mother will make remarks right in front of him about me. She treats me like I have a 5 IQ for everything - I can't even make a joke without her "correcting" me - She doesn't get sarcasm unless shes the one saying it.

She treats everything as if it's a competition. We all flew to Florida for vacation, and I said this is the 16th year I've been flying - something to that extent. She immediately said right back "HA! My son has you beat! He's been flying since he was 1!" I know this example alone isn't something to be upset about, but she does it with EVERYTHING!

I've confronted her nicely about all of this. Didn't do anything. So I asked my b/f if he could say something to her, perhaps she'd listen to him. He said - "It's not my problem." What is going on? Is this normal?

  • Boyfriend is mad at me for not wanting to talk to his alcoholic father?... WTH?

I've been with this guy for 5 years, moved in 3 years ago - next door to his alcoholic parents. I've been extremely supportive to him and have helped him with them. I've been through this before - my stepfather was an alcoholic so I know the only thing you can do for them is to not enable them. I keep telling this to my guy, but he always breaks and then blames me for when his drunk parents call crying and upset about why he doesn't interact with them as much.

They cause a great deal of stress in our lives - I have developed an anxiety disorder after living next to them for so long, but yet my guy still gets angry with me when I don't want to talk to his parents when they're hammered. I'm on the verge of saying f^ck it and just packing my stuff and leaving - this stuation is really taking a toll on my health.

  • Signed document (from parents) proving I have sufficient funds to live in Germany?

I will be studying abroad for one year. I read on a few websites that I will need a document proving that I will be funded while I stay in Germany. Am I able to just write something up, print it out, and have it notarized? Or is there an official document that I am able to print?

  • Does a US citizen need a visa to study in Germany? Even when registering with the city?

I'll be studying in Bamberg in 2 months and their exchange student brochure is a little fuzzy. It appears that US citizens do not need a visa because after you register with the city as a foreigner, you're ok to stay for a year... However I'm still unsure and was wondering if anyone has gone through this situation before? ^^

    *I don't want any "I'm not sure...buuut..." answers! If you don't know, don't bother.

  • Religious folks, please explain this...?

Is god willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is MALEVOLENT. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him god?

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness, I make peace and create evil: I am the Lord that do all these things.

I realize some of you own bibles that are newer and toned down quite a bit - these versions replace peace and evil with prosperity and disaster... nonetheless, it is the same.

    How do you explain this?
