Hi. I recently went to MEPS and was temporarily disqualified due to Childhood Asthma. I havent had Asthma in several years and I have a Pulmonary Function Test proving I havent had Asthma for at least one year. I go in for another PFT tomorrow, which I will pass considering I passed that one a year ago. MEPS is requiring me to give them these PFT results as well as my medical record. According to my recruiter....there is no official Army reg regarding Asthma. If this is the case....is there a general rule of thumb? I am trying to get a general idea on if I should be good upon review or if I should wait a few more years just as good measure. Is there a set number of years to wait since last Asthma symptom? Thanks in advance.

I dont want this temporary disqualification to turn into a Permanent if I am not within the regs for Asthma. My recruiter says that my packet is locked in the computer and I cant even select a job without approval to move forward. I am just wondering if this disqualifcation will always stay in the system or if it drops off. If it drops off....I may consider waiting a year (or longer) in order to ensure I am within the Army's Asthma regs and have a better chance of enlistment.
