How far do tides recede?
I assume it depends on the geography and other factors, but is there a range? I just wanna know if most tides move more than an acre, which is just under 5,000 yards.

On our own Planet the moon's gravity causes a slight bulge in the oceans that trails behind the moon, and it causes the lapping of the ocean and the tides and it interacts with other weather.
But could there exist a planet where all or most of the water circles around the planet, in that way? What would life on that planet be like?

at the on-going military ship fire, there are neat fire-boats that seem to be spraying sea water on the fires but in the news shot I saw, one of them seemed to be spraying the side. am I correct in assuming this is to keep the hull temperature down, to prevent damage to it? I wonder if the fire is known to be hot enough to melt/damage steel, or if it's just a precaution. I could be wrong, bu it seems the ony reasonable asumption.

My aunt is a lying conniving person who took advantage of my mother and I (both mentally disabled) as much as she could. she made promises to my dying grandmother about the family finances, who wanted to make sure my mom ands i never face the housing problems we have now. and then my aunt kept all the money herself and intentionally lost the house. and I think she has been claiming my mother and I as dependents on her taxes, even though and we haven't even lived with her in like 7 years now. My mom and I are both on SSI and do not file taxes, but we are totally not Bri's dependents, so she should not be getting any money off of us, and should have to pay back to the government anything she has stolen.

Everything these days is CG. there's no mystery at the movies anymore. whatever is needed can be crafted with CG. More money means better looking CG. and it's getting cheaper. It's simply good business to do everything CG.
as a millennial, I can't get that exact wow factor at the movies anymore, everything is CG, yawn. wow CG lionking with a single real shot. Totally knew which one it was.

Innovative and fascinating sounds for me include the talk-box effect, and the vocoder, and auto-tune. for me it usually has to do with the voice, but I assume if I grew up in the 60s or 70's I might be amazed by synthetic sounds. but then recently there have been the likes of skrillex, making nearly grandiose, nearly symphonic music, using glitchy electronic garbage sounds.

miracles are mysterious. I get that. I totally do not grant this as being possible, but let's say I accept that Jesus rose from the dead, and then flew into the sky, obscured by a cloud. Let's say the event itself is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Do we know how that happened? they had some explanation back then, but don't we need to confirm that explanation, before we can go with it? if I say 100 things and you test 90 of them and they hold true, can you just accept the other 10 without investigating? it would be irrational to do so, but not merely to suspect they may be the case, and warrant further investigation.

I'm watching star trek enterprise, and they find a vessel with a race of people in it who were being harvested for a certain chemical their bodies produce. Captain archer said that "people used to poach rhinos for thier horns and things, but not people" and so I started thinking, and don't head hunters count as poachers? they objectified humans in the same way, even if the "use" was to trade the heads for guns rather than harvesting something for medical uses.

The bible and Jesus endorse it through out. Leviticus 25 says you may buy slaves from the heathen nations around you. exodus 21 says you can beat slaves, and you are not to be punished if they survive a day or two, because they are your property. Jesus said slaves who don't do what is expected of them, are to be beaten with many blows, and then went on to talk about how he wants to divide families. luke 12:47-53

Uncle Sam is public domain so I don't wanna hear complaints about copyright nonsense. anyway, there is gunk around the edges of the image, and I have a floating pint selection layer. and i am becoming infuriated that I can't just click another layer, invert the selection, and get rid of it. the selection for the floating point layer goes along the hard edge. but if I do anything else, merge it or anchor it, i lose that selection, and have to make a new one, one affected by the gunk I was trying to get rid of in the first place. am I missing one little thing to click?
