  • Need help w/ display drivers -?

Hello out there - Every time I try to click on a video in, for example, Yahoo news, or anywhere, the video will start to play, then it shuts down and I get a weird little box on the bottom right that says" display driver Intel graphics accelerator for Windows has stopped responding..." then it recovers, but after that, I get the sound of the video but no picture. It seems like it might be a simple adjustment of something out of whack. I think the troll that lives in the basement has been working a little overtime on this one. Can anyone give me any suggestions how to remedy? Thanks, folks.

  • Identity problem: forgot my secret question?

    Hi Folks, need help -

I got a new cell phone and Yahoo wants to verify that it's me who is trying to access my email with the phone. They asked me my secret question. Since it's been several years since I set it up I can't remember how I answered it. I've tried all logical answers. I've been following their directions to contact them and have been getting the runaround. The last thing was they told me to call a number to get help. I did and was put on perpetual hold. On that recording I was instructed to try "help.yahoo.com/identity". When I did that, I got this weird security certificate warning that the website was trying to fool me and warned me not to continue to the website. How does Yahoo stay in business if they will not help people with legitimate questions or in need of help? Any constructive feedback will be most appreciated. Thanks.

  • Yahoo Mail Seach Snafu?

Hi Kidz - I just tried to search my email for "Alzheimer's Association", which I have plenty of emails from, and the search box returned no results, as if there weren't any emails from them. It's the first time it hasn't worked for me. Then I tried to get help from Yahoo's help link and couldn't find a way to ask them about it. I tried to make a comment and that didn't seem to get me anywhere. Any suggestions why/how this could have happened? Usually I don't have too many snags with Yahoo and it's been a good service over the years. I would encourage them to try to make their help link more open and responsive to users. Granted some of the comments expressed frustration that might have been hard to address, but if their help link was more streamlined, perhaps there wouldn't be so much frustration. Thanks for any consideration out there -

P.S. Any way to get rid of the obtrusive ads without paying an exorbitant fee?

    Thanks again -

  • Weird, mysterious appearance of McAfee Security Scan Plus icon on my desktop...?

Hello out there - Here's a puzzler... a McAfee Security Scan Plus icon has mysteriously appeared on my desktop. I have not signed up for McAfee Security anti-virus and have been happy with AVG. It's almost as if the troll that lives in the basement signed me up without my knowing about it until the icon appeared on my desktop, of course. BTW, this coincidentally happened on 9/11 of this year. Cute, huh? Anyone have any idea what this could be? A virus, perhaps? Or some weird prankster who doesn't have anything better to do with his time (a.k.a. troll). When I tried to check it out, I right-clicked to find properties. The only thing I can find is the shortcut tab which says "Target: Scan\3.8.130\McUICnt.exe "Security Scanner.dll. If I click on any other tabs like the Security, Details or General I get another dialogue box that says "The folder 'C:/Windows/Temp/nsxC45.tmp/x64' specified in the start in box is not valid. Make sure that the folder exists and that the path is correct." What's wrong with this picture? I'm not a very sophisticated computer person and need some help with this one. Any constructive feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Sudden onset vomiting?

Hello - Need some experienced feedback. I have a 12 yr. old neutered male cat with a history of pancreatitis and a fibrosarcoma that was surgically excised 4 months ago. He recovered well and has been all right. He just woke up from a sound sleep this afternoon and vomited severely and suddenly. This was pretty extreme and out of the blue. It appears most of his breakfast- this morning it was Wellness Core venison, beef, etc. mixed with a little Friskies mixed grill - was digested. The vomitus was fluid with a few small bits of undigested food mixed in. He went outside and took about an hour to recover then came in and went to sleep and has been sleeping ever since. No dinner. He obviously is not feeling well. Not sure if he is feverish, might feel a little warm. Could this be another bout of pancreatitis? Any other thoughts/suggestions? If he isn't better tomorrow looks like we may be in for a trip to the vet...Any constructive feedback will be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Need help with sound...?

Hi - I just transfered some video files from a memory card (from my phone) to my computer and the sound won't play. I think this might be a simple fix but not sure what to do - maybe something needs to be updated like my media player or something? Any suggestions? Thanks for helping.

  • How to save files from hard drive to cd-rw?

Hello - I need to back up my files and don't know how to do it. I would like to back them up to a cd-rw. How do I save files from my hard drive to a cd-rw? I'm on Windows 7. I am learning that if it's a new disc, I will have to format it. My little Toshiba laptop has a cd drive (not sure what it's called-sorry) where I can insert a disc. Thanks for your teaching and help.

  • Need help w/ stuck netbook?

Hi Everyone - When I turn on my netbook, the desktop comes up and it starts to open up AIM automatically, but then the arrow gets stuck and I can't move it. I wind up stuck- can't do anything. I tried ctrl-alt-del and it goes to sort of a lock mode but I still can't move the cursor/arrow. I finally have to just shut it down completely. I have Microsoft Essentials on there but maybe that's not enough? Now what do I do? Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

  • Hi. I need help with Outlook, which defaults to my Yahoo email account when I try to use it...?

When I try to use MS Outlook, I get a dialogue box that wants me to enter my network password. It automatically enters my server as pop.mail.yahoo.com and defaults to my Yahoo account. But when I hit the OK button, It doesn't go away and won't let me send an email on Outlook. Can you folks help out with this? There have been many times when it would have been helpful to send the email. Thanks for your efforts. Nancy P.S. I'm new. Please bear with me as I'm just learning about this resource.
