  • Does once upon a time get better?

    I'm really trying to get into this series, I'm about half way through season 1 and my friend recommended it to me but so far I'm having some trouble getting into it. Every episode seems to be the same forumla;

1 - meet generic story book character

2 - they help them in the real world with some problem they're having

3 - queen interferes and makes things difficult

4 - the problem concludes, and we never hear from that character again

Does it get better? Does a bigger plot ever happen?

  • Sticking to the goals I set?

I'm honestly a pretty lazy person, I really wanted to crack down on myself in the new year and try and be more active in doing my work. I do freelance work and I make a good living, but I had started up a much more leisure project early in january and basically wanted to push myself to devote 2 hours a day to the work on that. I started out great, did it for the first week perfectly, then the following week I missed a couple days, then a few more after that. Next thing I know January is almost over and I'm down to working on it 1-2 days a week. Kind of a silly thing to ask, but how can I better push myself to stick to these goals I set for myself?

  • Good 3d animation software?

I want to make some animated shorts with 3D models I have made and acquired. I have the models and various animations for them already completed, but I want some software that will let me import them and set up shots with the animations I choose. Any software that can help me do this?

  • Tips for writing a story with too many characters?

I have plans to write a little story that's basically simple in nature, but its more about action. The main problem is its based off of characters that already are made, I just want to sort of "showcase" each one of them. There's not really going to be main characters, or any notable deep character development. The audience I'm writing for basically already is familiar with the characters from other works, all I want to do is get some tips on how to make this work. To give an idea, there are close to 100 characters for this story and I want each of them to make a brief but notable appearance. Can anyone give tips on how I can incorporate this many characters into my work while still making each one a notable appearance?

  • Was university a waste?

I am going through quite a rough patch right now in life, and I know I'm still young but I'm really confused and I'm beginning to question one of the bigger decisions I've made in life - going to university. When I was fresh out of high school I though that it was a very wise investment, I took a year off to work and save up money so that I could continue my education in a field I truly enjoyed that would ideally set me on a career path I genuinely enjoy. I studied media arts, and it did a great job teaching me the absolute fundamentals in just about everything from graphic design to film editing and production to video game design. The problem though is just that, it only taught me the very basics, and nothing I've learned has any kind of depth. I'm basically a jack of all trades, I can do everything a little bit when it comes to media arts, but I'm not good at anything. My assembled portfolio looks very mediocre and amateurish, and all of the places I'd really loved to have worked (even entry level positions) have turned me down because I don't show any outstanding features in my work and ultimately because I lack experience.

I've spent 5 years earning a degree that is largely useless from what I can tell. I'm drowning in student loans and can't get a job in my field to pay them off. Everyone I talked to before I enrolled and while I was attending university was incredibly supportive, saying things about how beneficial it is to have a university degree, and I just don't understand what I'm missing. I have the degree, but now what? Its been more of a burden than anything else? What exactly has university accomplished for me? It was a hell of a ride, but it ended with a drop off a cliff, and now I'm lost in free fall waiting to hit rock bottom. What was it all for?

  • American names with middle initials?

I am not a native english speaker and I just have one question I have never understood about some american names. How come some people (usually famous people) have their middle initial as a part of their name in credits and such? What I mean are names like Samuel L. Jackson. How come it is like that instead of just Samuel Jackson?

  • Hemorrhoids or something else?

I don't have access to a doctor right now so I'm hoping I can get some answers here. This has been happening for a while, but its been very inconsistent (it'll usually happen once every month or two, then stop for another month or so). Basically when I have a bowel movement there will be some bright blood on the toilet paper and a little bit coating the stool itself. Its not a lot, not even enough to make the water colored red, just a bit on the paper and stool. The stool itself looks normal. Is this just a small case of hemorrhoids or could it be something worse?

  • What is causing the ringing in my ears?

I know that tinnitus is the ringing in the ears and is only a symptom of any number of causes. I just want to know what the cause is. Here is what I know:

-it was sudden onset. It didn't happen gradually, it started a few days and has been going since

-there is no pain or discomfort in my ears, just the ringing

-I haven't been exposed to any very loud noises like night clubs, construction sites, etc. I have been on the computer working while listening to music or other ambience almost non stop while I've been awake for the last few weeks, but its never been overly loud, just consistent.

-my diet hasn't really had anything that probably would cause this. I had a lot of alcohol the night before it seemingly started, and some caffeiene one night during the ringing. I haven't had alcohol since, haven't had coffee in at least 48 hours. The only other thing that I've consumed out of the ordinary is Dr. Pepper but that can't be the cause? Food is no different than it ever has been.

-there is no blockage I can notice, its just the ringing. I can still hear perfectly fine out of both ears, but there is just ringing over top of all that. Its easy enough to tune out if I'm distracted by something, but if I start to focus on it, it can be quite loud and annoying.

So with all of that, any ideas what it might be? I'm not in a location right now where I can visit a doctor so I'm pretty much limited to what I can find out online. I suppose it might be a wax build up but I've had that before and it also blocked my hearing in the clogged ear. It could also be infection but wouldn't that include some kind of pain or discomfort? Dietary is possible with what I've been drinking the last few days but I'll need to wait a few more to see with that. Not sure what else so any feedback is most appreciated.

  • breaking bad season 4 question?

I was just watching breaking bad and in season 4 I had a question. Basically I want to know why Ted was so adamant about refusing to pay the IRS. Even when Skyler gave him all of the money to pay them, he still refused to do it until he was forced to by saul's guys. There had to be some deeper reason why he simply does not want to pay them even when he is given all of the money to do so for nothing in return. So why?

  • Allergic to certain water?

To try and sum up my situation quickly, I move between two close cities (about 2 hours drive apart) on and off for school. Live in one during the summer and then move to the other for college during the rest of the year. When I'm at home I have absolutely no problems like this and nothing is wrong when I use water, but when I'm in the other city at college its as if I'm allergic to the water. Any time I take a shower or wash my face or in just about any way use the water there I get these awful uncontrollable itches. Strangely, taking a bath doesn't have any of these consequences, just when I shower, wash my face, etc. Any idea what this might be? what could be in the water of one city that isn't in the other?

  • Why do my cats watch each other in the litter box?

I have a couple of kittens we got recently that are just about 2 months old and they are awesome but they do this one thing where they both watch each other while they are doing their business in the litter box. They will sort of sneak up to the corner and peer around and just watch each other do their business. Why do they do this?

  • How can I get my friends to stop being potheads?

I have a couple of my really good friends from high school that I'm starting to lose because of weed. Personally I don't really have a problem with it in general, its not bad at all if its just smoked once in a while to have a good time and chill out, which is what it used to be like with them. Now though its just getting ridiculous, they will literally go to work and when they come home they get baked 3-6 times while we're hanging out. We play a lot of games online and its like every hour we need to take a 20 minute break so they can refresh their buzz, which gets really annoying. On the weekend they do nothing but get baked the entire day and play games. Like I said it wouldn't be too bad if it were just something they did from time to time but its just ridiculous how often its happening now, its just never ending whenever they have free time.

  • Is there anything wrong with eating the same meals all the time?

I'm looking to get a more well balanced diet going and I'm not someone with tons of time on my hands. This leads to me taking the quick way out of eating, just microwaving something that's not too healthy or whatever and I don't eat well. I want to know if there's anything bad, any major downsides, of eating the same meals every day.

Assuming all of the meals fill my nutritional needs of course. So lets say I have the same meal planned that gives me all of the general nutrients I need, like some fish with rice and vegetables on the side and a class of milk. If I were to just make a ton of fish, rice, and veggies at the start of the week and eat it every day, would there be anything wrong with that from a health standpoint? The meal above is just a hypothetical example, but assuming I came up with some meal that gave me all the nutrients I needed, would it work to just eat that all the time?

Obviously the downside is that I would have no variety and would probably get sick of it real quick, but is there anything legitimately wrong with it in terms of health and nutrition?

  • What makes athletes sign long term on bad teams?

This is always something I've wondered in sports in general, mostly hockey but I'm sure it applies in others as well. Basically teams have a star player playing on a horrible team (like for example nash on columbus until recently) and the team manages to convince them to sign long term. I know there's more involved like family and their community status but wouldn't any hockey player that really wants to win rather play on a team where that is an option? How do teams manage to convince star players to sign for 5+ years with a team that's not going to be a contender for the duration of that contract? And why do the players accept it?

  • How to get more viewers on twitch tv?

I have been in a lot of great twitch tv channels and I would love to be like some of them. I don't necessarily want thousands of viewers or anything, but I wouldn't mind something in the double digits consistently. At most right now I get 1-3 viewers, and a lot of them come in for 2 seconds and leave instantly.

I usually stream dota 2, and I'm pretty good at it (not amazing, but definitely well above average). I have music playing in the background and often have my mic on and try and interact with chat to make it a more friendly atmosphere. I have watched other dota channels as well and most of them do pretty much the same thing, have music, some have mics. Their skill isn't a whole lot better either (some channels I've seen with 500+ viewers are even a little worse than me at the game I'd say).

  • How do become popular on a site like twitch tv?

I love streaming games on twitch and I feel I have a decent entertaining stream. I communicate with the chat when there are people there, and play games that people generally enjoy (mostly dota 2). However the problem is it seems near impossible to get any viewers early on before I gain popularity. I might get something like 3 or 4 viewers and that's fun and a good start. Most often though I'll get something like 1 or 2 viewers that will watch for 10 seconds and then leave instantly. How can I get started early to gain popularity?

  • Has an 8th seed team ever won the stanley cup?

  • Possible to be stressed without knowing it?

I have got a few annoying physical symptoms that have been bothering me and it has been suggested that it might be stress causing them. The thing is, I really don't have much of a reason to be stressed out right now. I just finished my semester in school, I'm not currently working, and until I start work in a few weeks I pretty much spend all of my time playing games and hanging with my friends (very stress free stuff in other words). So even considering all of this is it possible there's something else stressing me out even though I don't feel like I'm under stress?

  • Any ideas what this might be?

This is going to be a bit long but I could use some ideas here, the clinic in my area is closed until tomorrow so I can't go right now. Basically my father passed away about 6 months ago and ever since then I have had some annoying abdominal problems. These problems have mostly just been some discomfort, gas, bloating, etc. Its never really been painful (I'd say at most it has been a 3/10 for pain) its more just uncomfortable and annoying. The discomfort has migrated all over the place from my lower right abdomen to lower left, and right now its more upper right, just around and under the rib cage area. I figured that this was all just because of stress and related to my father's passing and it was just my body's way of reacting.

The other symptom I've been having a lot lately though is the feeling of general malaise. I just "feel unwell" and don't really know how else to explain it. Its sort of in my face and neck and just feels weird. Again not really painful, just not comfortable. That has been going on for about a month and a bit.

Just today though I had some blood in my stool. It wasn't a lot, maybe about a spoonful at most (it probably looked like a lot more because it mixed with the water in the toilet). It wasn't painful or anything though and I didn't even realize there was blood until afterwards. I had a bit of blood in my stool a while ago (probably 3 months at least) but it was just one time and not very much all.

I have been unable to find anything online at all that explains all of these symptoms so I have no clue what it could be. I'm going to be going to the doctor tomorrow but I would love to know what this could possibly be.
