  • How to play MP3's on a stereo system?

I know it's possible to plug an iPod into a stereo system if you have the right cable, but I wonder if there's something better.

Is there such a thing as a stereo component version of an MP3 player? I'm envisioning something with a real big hard drive, that would hold a large CD collection in non-compressed formats, so you get the best possible fidelity. And it would have some sort of display that would let you quickly find the album or song you want. It would plug right into your stereo receiver, just like a CD player or tape deck. And it's for music only -- not intended to be playing movies.

Does such a thing exist? If so, what are the best models?

  • Did anybody really NOT know this?

One of the front-page stories on Yahoo today is something called "6 Money Habits That Are Illegal." Here's a paragraph from that story:

"Color printers, scanners and copiers make it surprisingly easy for just about anyone to replicate U.S. or foreign currency. But it is, in fact, illegal to print your own money and try to spend it to buy goods or services."

So what they're saying is that counterfeiting is illegal.

Is it just me, or does this come as a surprise to absolutely nobody?

Do the people who write these so-called informative articles for Yahoo think we're total idiots? Or do they really think that this sort of information is actually helpful to us?

In case you want to see the whole article, complete with other revelations such as it's not a good idea to write checks for more than you have in your account, you can waste your time reading it here:

  • Older song about a group of people going away?

This is a song that got some airplay about 3 or 4 years ago. The general idea was about a group of people who all went away, for some mysterious reason, and they didn't know what their destination was. The lead singer was male.

It was a rock, or pop, song. It had kind of an interesting melody, if I recall.

I'm straining to remember even a fragment of a lyric, but I can't. I know it's not much to go on, but can anyone give any ideas about the title or the performer?

  • What are some great facts about Nov. 24?

Hey everyone, today is my birthday!

Here are three great things about having a birthday on Nov. 24:

    1. It's Katherine Heigl's birthday too!

    2. One U.S. president was born on Nov. 24 -- Zachary Taylor.

    3. Whenever my birthday falls on a Thursday, it's also Thanksgiving Day. Pumpkin pie and birthday cake on the same day, woo-hoo!

So what are some other great things about Nov. 24? I'll give 10 points for the best answer!

  • Adults only: Would you read an explicit blog?

I have an idea for a blog, based on my romantic life.

The blog would be 100% true, except that I would change the names of the people involved. It would start with a little grade school crush I had in 5th grade, and would continue through high school, college and into adulthood.

Each girl or woman in the blog would get her own chapter. I would give all details about every sexual encounter. There would also be some funny parts, and a lot of romantic parts. But most of it would revolve around the bedroom. There would be loving sex, kinky sex, the works. I'm a very good writer, and I think I could make it accurate and interesting. I'd try to give insights into the male mind, and describe what I was thinking and how the relationships affected me.

My question: If I write it, would anyone be interested in reading it? Be honest!

I'd like opinions from both men and women. (Women especially!) I know a lot of teenagers read this site, so I should say right up front that if I write it, it will be for mature audiences only.

  • Making a living with eBay?

If you believe everything you read, there are many people who are making a fortune by selling things on eBay.

I've sold a few items from around the house, such as books and CDs. I've bought some things too. I've had good experiences as a buyer and a seller, and I know the procedure. I have a scale to weigh things accurately, and some forms that can be used to print out shipping labels.

But what I want to know is: Realistically, can anyone make a decent living this way? Could someone earn something like $2,000 to $5,000 per month, if they approach eBay sales like a full-time job?

I'd be especially interested in hearing from anyone who tried it and succeeded, or who tried it and then gave up.

  • Help with selecting an iPod / MP3 player?

I'm about to purchase my first iPod / MP3 player. I think everybody in the world has one except me!

I have a *huge* collection of CD's, and I'd like to transfer most of the music to the player. So I'll need a very large storage capacity.

My main question is: iPod classic or Zune? Both are 120 gigs, and they cost about the same.

Also: When I make playlists, is it easy to have the same song on two different playlists? If so, is the song loaded onto the player twice, taking up twice as much room? Or is it just there once, and it's name is listed in two places?
