I'm a Neo-Pagan, former Catholic, feminist and Liberal. In other words, the worst nightmare of those who refuse to think for themselves. If you're a Jack Chick reading mindless fundie, you might want to block me now. So I don't offend your lack of reasoning skills, or your oh, so delicate sensibilities.
Is it possible to get the smell of Axe out of a couch?
A friend insisted on giving me a couch. The previous owner overdid the Axe body spray, or some other dirt cheap men's cologne that reeks. The couch is about 20 years old and of course, that shows on the arms. I need to figure out how to clean that too.
But with the smell of Axe on this thing, I have used three bottles of Nature's Miracle so far and that's not working. I need help! Either a sure fire way to get the reek out, or help to take it to the dumpster. Help!

4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy do swamp coolers make carbonated beverages go flat?
Let's forget they won't work if there's more than 10% humidity in the air, which here in New Mexico is July through September, the time you actually need a working cooling system the most. But I have never experienced this before. In the northeast, where I had fans and window air conditioners, my drinks didn't go flat. In Oklahoma, with central air, my drinks didn't go flat. In another part of the very town where I am now, my drinks didn't go flat. But since I moved to a house with a swamp cooler, it doesn't matter what I'm drinking. Club soda, Diet Coke, Perrier... They all go flat in the space of an hour. So I ask, why do swamp coolers cause carbonated drinks to go flat?
4 AnswersOther - Science10 years agoSo if a true Christian doesn't hate...?
... Then why do so many of you here have such bigoted attitudes towards those who aren't Christian, but especially toward those who are gay or lesbian?
I ask this after reading the answers in this thread: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201108...
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoSpiritually Speaking, how do you feel when this happens?
You answer a question honestly. The question is posed in such a way you get a vision of Eric Cartman dressed as Hitler. It is a question so offensive that you can't believe it didn't get deleted. When you go back in a few hours, you get the message that you are unable to view the question at this time.
OK, so you've been blocked by someone who is all for extermination of those who don't follow their narrow concepts of God and religion. You block them in turn, because experience has taught you these people will stalk those they disagree with and turn into report monkeys. But does this happen very often? Do you get that sense of annoyance because you realize the little troll, who hates being called a troll is blocking people who disagree to make sure his questions stay and he doesn't have to create yet another account?

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians, what is your opinion on this?
It seems a far right Christian group is planning to disrupt the religious festivities of a non-Christian group in D.C. at the end of October. Do you think it's far to practice this sort of religious discrimination? How would you feel if there were protesters outside of your church on say Christmas?

4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoSo if God can't hear sinners?
And we are all sinners, does that mean God hears no prayers? I just saw an answer saying God can't hear sinners, so that's why prayers aren't answered. So I am curious about this, because I thought one of the reasons for prayer was to pray to be forgiven. Would someone please be kind enough to explain this Catch-22 to me?

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoSeriously, do you really see Jesus in this?
I know people are always looking for a sign. But seriously, do you see Jesus on this receipt? Jesus had pointed ears? And Rasputin's eyes? I think this looks more like a cross between Ted Bundy and the wolfman.

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoLong term effects of pain killers?
Does anyone know if one of the long term effects of pain killers has anything to do with ones ability to deal with the temperature of a room? My roommate invited some people to stay for a while who are long term pain patients who, along with their other issues, seem to think any temperature under 75 is "freezing." Unless it's high summer, then any temperature above 60 is "roasting."
Does this have anything to do with the fact doctors keep feeding them pain killers and muscle relaxants, or are they just well, messed in the head?

...Then how do you explain this little bit of Matthew 6? This is from the KJV, too...
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
