We had to make a tale in our English class but I can't think of a good name.

The plot is like this:

The sun is extremely shy and always hides behind the clouds because it's scared and shy.

The animals on earth are hungry and thirsty so they tell the moon.

The moon talks the sun into being proud of who he is and forevermore, the earth is blessed with sun.

This is just one of the questions, and I wondered if my answer was long enough for it, or well-written.

I am in 8th grade, and I really want to get into this camp!

QUESTION: What did you and your first friend do together and who was it? Are you still friends today? Explain.

ANSWER: I hope the saying; “Best friends are forever” is true, because my first best friend, Taryn, and I are going to be best friends forever. I met Taryn on my first day of preschool. Our moms said we had met on our way up the stairs to the classroom. Apparently, we were already friends before we even entered the room. We played together, especially with our Barbie dolls in the Barbie houses. We bonded in preschool and became even better friends in elementary school. We were in the same kindergarten class, so we sat next to each other, played in the little play kitchen, and played outside during recess together. From kindergarten all the way to sixth grade, we went from best friends to best friends forever. Oddly enough, we were also in the same class all the way up through sixth grade. We were so happy! I remember in second grade, I was so happy that I was only one who could spell Taryn’s last name, Zbytniewski. It was tricky but I had finally memorized it. We also played soccer together every year since kindergarten, and started playing basketball in third grade. Today, Taryn and I are still and are always going to be best friends forever. We started playing soccer in the fall together when we were little, and now we also play lacrosse together in the spring. Although we don’t have as many classes together than we used to, we sit together at lunch, and hang out over the weekends. Taryn is my first best friend and I don’t think I could ever find someone better than her to be my best friend. If people think best friends never really last forever, we will prove the whole world wrong.

QUESTION: Tell us about your name, where it originates, and why your parents choose that name? How did they do it?

ANSWER:

My full name, Simrit Kaur Singh, came from my religion, Sikhism. Sikhism is a relatively new religion compared to many of the ancient religions. It was created no more than 500 years ago. Sikhism is a religion that originated in India, particularly in the area called Punjab. My first name, Simrit, comes from our holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib. Simrit means remembering God, or reciting the name of God. My parents chose my name from the name-bearing ceremony. In our culture, when a child is born, the newborn is taken to the gurudwara, a place to worship and recite the name of God. There, someone opens the Guru Granth Sahib to a random page, and then flips the next page over, and reads the first letter on the left page. That is the letter your first name must start with. In my case, the first letter was “S”, and my parents decided to name the Simrit. Also in our religion, every female must have the word, “Kaur” as her middle or last name, and every male must have the word “Singh” as his middle or last name. “Kaur” means princess, and “Singh” means lion. Because my dad’s last name was “Singh”, my name is Simrit Kaur Singh.
