So the last school that I went to, I will admit I didn't usually stand up for my friends. If someone said something about them, I would become really awkward & not know what to do. I'm a very loud person, but didn't know how to stand up for them or would feel rude if I did. Now that I've entered high school, I have friends who know how to do what mine never did, & ALWAYS stand up for their friends if someone says something nasty, even if it's their own boyfriend. So this kid said something about how many cookies my friend Katie ate the other day (which wasn't even true, she brought in a pack to share with people & only ate a couple) I was so disgusted I said "Hey! Don't be a dick. Don't talk about Katie like that, she's so nice." suddenly things got really quiet. I felt good for standing up for her, as I know she would do for me. But is standing up for people sometimes considered rude? Does it make other people feel awkward? Is there a better way to go about it? In the past I would've just told my friends what the person said about them so they would know.

Okay, I've never asked for help with homework on here but I just have to now. I've been absent & although I got all the makeup work, I don't know what I'm doing! What are the differences between first, second, and third degree murder?

Is there anything you have to do before you graduate highschool? Dye your hair, host a house party, sneak out, make all A's, ect. (this is NOT necessarily what I hide) but I have friends who never hide anything & then I have friends who have to hide everything. I don't know what most people keep from them, if anything. Do you hide anything from your parents?

Maybe I worded my previous question the wrong way... For people who didn't read it; it was talking about a friend who hides condoms in her makeup bag and my guy friend's reaction, asking her why she felt like they were something to hide. My question sounded like whether or not you hide them & why, but what I MEANT to ask was whether or not you think high school kids SHOULD feel like condoms are something to hide, not why they do. Yes or no, and why? I don't think that kids should feel like they are something to hide because I don't think people should be discouraged for having or preparing for safe sex, and more kids would practice safe sex if they didn't feel ashamed for buying condoms.

My friend Dean is getting his book published soon (still won't tell me what it's about & is making me find out with the rest of the world!). But by now, he's told me more than 20 times that he wants me to publish a book about something that happened in my life, and that he has connections with publishers everywhere (I already knew he did, both his parents are writers). The thing is, it's based on real life events, and I'm not sure that publishing it is such a great idea. I'm also worried it might be a slap in the face to the people I cared about, but because they're no longer in my life is it okay? I know this might be confusing but I'm so confused I don't know what's right or wrong.

I have always suffered from anxiety disorders, and have always worried about the worst possible things that could happen in even minor situations for as long as I can remember. Not when I am surrounded by friends or family, but when I am alone I suffer panic attacks constantly and am never at ease. However, I find myself completely fascinated with researching criminals or famous cases. Not in an obsessive sense, but I think criminology is interesting. I considered eventually trying for a career as a criminal profiler because I am able to remember all the signs and have always been good at detecting certain human behaviors. But I would just get freaked out if it were a real life situation, so I know there is no chance. Is this weird? Like, I find the information and the way they put clues together fascinating, but yet the crimes still terrify me. Is anyone else like this, or does anyone else understand it?

So, I'm having a sweet sixteen with my best friend Dean. I absolutely love him to death & can't wait (: ! We've found a few available venues; a country club, ballroom, party house, and a really nice open house on the beach. The only thing holding me back from the beach house is that I wanted to have our party on New Year's Eve (lol of next year, don't worry) & I didn't know about the weather. What do you remember about the awesome parties you've had or been to? Need help!

He didn't want to hire a party planner, especially because our party is almost a year away. But we've found it more difficult to plan it than we thought. We've finally agreed on a few different party venues, and he has contacted one. But whenever I get ready to contact them, I get really nervous. I know you have to be careful to sound a certain way, but I have trouble forming the words! How do I even start the first sentence??? I need to tell them that I am looking to book the venue for a joined sixteen birthday, the date, and the number of guests (easily 300 people).
