Game to represent circle 8 in Dante's Inferno?
So for a group project, we were assigned circle 8 of Dante's Inferno to present. As you might know, this is the circle of fraud and is made up of 10 bolgias. We wanted to be creative with it, so we want to create a game for the class to play that could help them review at the same time. I was thinking something involving the people in the circle. If you could give me some ideas, I'd really appreciate it! Maybe something with them going through the bolgias? I'm stuck.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors9 years agoTheme of relationships transcending the barriers of social class?
I have a paper to write about a theme, using six different sources to discuss it and back it up. I chose the theme of relationships transcending the barriers of social class. The six sources have to be: one novel, one poem or song, a short story, a movie, a play, and one other work. I can possibly replace one of them with one of the others and repeat. I was wondering if any one had suggestions for the work. I am definitely set on doing Pride and Prejudice for the novel, but I'm open to suggestions for the rest.
Thanks for the help!

1 AnswerBooks & Authors10 years agoWordplay similar to: "Things change, change things"?
Hey, guys. I'm trying to develop cute little phrases that have similar wordplay to the phrase, "Things change, change things." I love how it works so perfectly and conveys two separate messages, not the same one but flipped. I'd like to come up with some pertaining to sports, academics, or clubs for a project about different aspects of a school. I've come up with some things, but I have a feeling I need some new perspective. Can you think of anything?
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay10 years agoBaseball research paper topic?
Hey guys. So, I'm working on a research paper for a research class. Basically, we have the ability to choose any topic we want to write about. Obviously, my love for baseball has me inclined to find an interesting topic in the field. A couple of days ago, I finished reading the book "the baseball" written by that guy that's caught thousands of balls and decided to write a book about them-- the ball itself, not the game. Anyway, I thought that was really creative and interesting, to take an aspect of the game and incorporate it to such an interesting research topic. I want to do something like that and wanted to see if you had any suggestions. I'm looking for topics that are outside the box. Something you think would be interesting to investigate that is never really talked about, not something overdone like the history of the game. Let me know if you come up with something! Thanks.
11 AnswersBaseball10 years agoPoll: Wearing your team's merchandise to a game they're not playing?
This is something I always think about. I live in Miami and go to a lot of Marlins games. I'm a Red Sox fan, but I'll usually wear a Marlins' cap or something to be kind of fit in with the crowd. I always thought wearing Red Sox gear to a game they're not playing in would be kind of disrespectful to Marlins fans in their ballpark. Despite this though, you go to a Marlins' game, and I bet you can find a cap of every team in the majors. I wanted to hear your thoughts on this and ask if you've ever worn your team's merchandise to a game they're not playing.
10 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoNo-hitter trivia question?
So if you're watching MLB Network right now, don't try to answer this. I found this interesting, since I could only get 3. The question was, can you name the six pitchers to throw a no-hitter AFTER leaving the Mets? Of course you know no one's actually thrown one while with the Mets. Obviously the answer's online, but I'd like to know if anyone can try to guess them all. Good luck!
6 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoSpring training practice?
Hey. So, I'm heading over to Ft. Myers tomorrow for my first Red Sox spring training practice at their complex. I wanted to hear stories about people who've done this and suggestions about what to do when you're there and stuff like that. Another thing, tomorrow is supposedly their first official full squad practice and I heard that while practice usually takes place in the morning, those first practices take place in the afternoon. Anyone know about this? And if you know how to find out that schedule, it would be great, thanks :)
2 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoOn the year you were born in baseball?
1. If your birthday falls in the season, who and where did your team play that day?
2. What place did they finish in the standings and if they advanced to the postseason, how far did they get?
3. Who won the world series and what players won the MVP and cy young in both leagues?
Just a fun little survey to see how much you know about your birthyear. And of course you can look it all up :)
15 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhat year are you in?
What year is it where you are? Greetings from 2011 and happy new year! :)
14 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat does MVP mean to you?
Is it the person with the best numbers? The best attitude? Should it be someone who played for a playoff team? Can it be someone on a last place team? There has been so much discussion about this, as there always is this time of year. Tell me what you think an MVP truly should be.
BQ: Give me your predictions for AL and NL MVP (yes, I know you've answered this question a million times).
16 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoAny awkward scenes in The Social Network?
Well, my dad kind of loves going to the movies and I constantly have to be searching for movies that would be good to watch with him. I'm a teenage girl and that kind of limits the possibilities. He's interested in watching the Social Network and I just want to know if there are any awkward scenes in it? Or would it be fine for me to watch it with him? Because unfortunately, most of us know what it feels like when you're watching a movie with your parents and a sex scene comes on. I just really want to avoid that. Haha, thanks for the help :)
3 AnswersMovies1 decade agoMaybe we can get back to talking about baseball here?

7 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHow long does it take you during Sunday Night Baseball?
So, how long does it normally take you during SNB to mute the tv? I actually made it to the bottom of the second inning, incredibly, but it is just too much. I can't stand them. How about you?
15 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoThose people in the stadium at KC?
Those are true fans.
Question: if your team was getting blown out 19 to 0... would you stay until the end?
15 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhat is a real baseball fan?
I see the term tossed around a lot in this section, "real fan." I'll admit, even I've used it. But what does it really mean? A lot of us, in our answers and questions, say, well, if you're a real fan, this and that or, only real fans would know. What, in your opinion, makes up a real baseball fan. It could either be a real fan of a certain team, or just baseball in general.
Thanks for your answers :)
14 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoMark Reynolds strikeouts?
Do you think Reynolds will once again break his own records for most strikeouts in a season? So far tonight, he has 3 for a grand total of 89 on the season. What do you think? The record right now is 223, which he set last year.
8 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoBaseball trivia... Why not?
I've been feeling that the baseball section's been kind of slow for a couple of days, so why not ask some good ole' trivia questions? I'll probably ask more through out the following days, I think these are the best types of questions in the section.
1. What two Yankees were nearly traded to Milwaukee for pitcher Warren Spahn and slugger Hank Aaron in 1960?
2. Who has the most wins in Dodgers history?
3. The number 44 is retired by which teams honoring which players?
4. Who hit old Yankee Stadium's first two World Series home runs?
5. Who was the last major league pitcher to win 30 games?
6. Who was the last pitcher to pitch and win 3 complete games in one World Series?
BQ: Who was the opposing pitcher on the day of Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series?
Good Luck, I hope you guys at least try to answer most of them without looking them up.
10 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHow about some no-hitter trivia?
Alright, I don't actually know the answer to this, but I'm interested to know if someone has been keeping track and knows the answer. How many no-hitters have been broken up in the 8th or 9th inning this year? Also, I don't know if this is something that is on record, but what is the record for the most no-hitters broken up in the ninth in a season?
I'd love to know if anyone knows these :) I just thought i'd ask in the midst of all this no-hitter craziness.
