Baseball trivia... Why not?
I've been feeling that the baseball section's been kind of slow for a couple of days, so why not ask some good ole' trivia questions? I'll probably ask more through out the following days, I think these are the best types of questions in the section.
1. What two Yankees were nearly traded to Milwaukee for pitcher Warren Spahn and slugger Hank Aaron in 1960?
2. Who has the most wins in Dodgers history?
3. The number 44 is retired by which teams honoring which players?
4. Who hit old Yankee Stadium's first two World Series home runs?
5. Who was the last major league pitcher to win 30 games?
6. Who was the last pitcher to pitch and win 3 complete games in one World Series?
BQ: Who was the opposing pitcher on the day of Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series?
Good Luck, I hope you guys at least try to answer most of them without looking them up.
If they're too hard, you're allowed to look them up.. I'm not saying you can't. I just thought they were interesting.

Guessing...
1. Mantle and Ford.
2. Drysdale has 209 or so, and I cannot think of any other Dodger with more -- well, Sutton? Yeah, I'll go with Sutton.
3. Aaron by the Braves and Brewers, Reggie by the Yankees (the A's retired his #9). McCovey by the Giants, I think. That's probably all of 'em.
4. Stengel and Ruth.
5. If you mean "in one season", McLain, 1968, went 31-6. Before him was Dean, 1934. It's been a while.
6. I'll go with Lolich, 1968. I know he had three wins.
B. Perranoski?

1. Don't know, and can't seem to find the answer. I'll guess Moose Skowron and Roger Maris.
2. Don Sutton has 233 wins. I thought it would be Koufax or Drysdale, but it isn't.
3. Hank Aaron is one. Reggie Jackson and Willie McCovey are the other two.
4. Casey Stengel of the Giants hit the first three homers there.
5. Denny McClain of the Tigers won 31 in 1968.
6. I believe it is Lew Burdette in 1957

1. No, swinging and missing is a strike 2. He could, as long at the bat conforms to the rules, but it would be stupid because it would break the bat. 3. Yes, the Indians did it in 2008 against the White Sox. 4. That depends a lot on how you define it. Yes, a game can be won with a triple and a throwing error (walk off triple). A batter can get an RBI triple in some other winning and that is the winning run of the game. 5. Warm up pitches or he's on the on deck circle and takes strike one in his at bat. 6. It's a dead ball and the batter and following runners are stopped at where they were when in incorrect ball was picked up. This is based on the umpires judgement. 7. A pinch hitter comes in assuming a two strike count.

I'll try without looking them up...
1. No idea really. Maybe Maris and Whitey Ford?
2. Don Sutton?
3. Braves - Hank Aaron; Yankees - Reggie; and guessing - A's - Reggie; Brewers - Aaron
4. I'll avoid the obvious and say Gehrig
5. Denny McLain, 1968
6. Bob Gibson, 1967
BQ: I think I should know this but I'm drawing a blank. I'll say Clem Labine but I'm sure that's wrong.

Very good questions. I think #6 is Christy Mathewson in 1905. Other than that I couldn't tell you any of them off the top of my head. I would really like to know the answer to #1 tho.
