  • Son has seed tick bites. What will help heal them?

This past weekend we were out at my best friends house and my 4 yr old wanted to go to the creek on his property. Afterwards we discovered that all of us had seed ticks on us. My 4 yr old had more than anyone else. I spent a day picking them off of him.

The next day he looked like he had chicken pox it was so bad. I've let him take a few baths a day besides putting on ointment. We first tried Benadryl and then switched to Cortisone Intensive healing.

He has scratched some places so bad I can't put on the ointment because it burns.

He has seed tick bites all over his body though mostly on his back and thighs.

I am now debating whether or not to take him to his pediatrician. Is there any other over the counter treatment I can try before taking him to the doctor?

I thought about getting the Aveeno bath stuff.

  • Question for electricians?

My mom and step dad is having to have a new septic tank, pump tank and alarm system put in. They have to have the pump and alarm because the house sits on a flat part of the land.

My best friend has done the electrical work since he is licensed in our state. The inspector passed the work done. However, it took an extra day to do the work since the pump tank did not get installed until the fourth day. The guy doing the septic tank work has dragged his feet all week long doing this project which my best friend and I estimated would take three days.

What I want to know is how much would you have charged to do the electrical work that included digging by hand 75 feet of a 250ft 24" trench, adding two breakers to the outside box, wiring for the alarm and pump, installing the alarm on the inside of the screened in porch, connecting the alarm and having to add a 4x4 post to install two junction boxes? All this took a total of 25 hours in four days rather than an estimated 20 hours.

  • Is it true that Army National Guardsmen get veterans benefits now?

The other day I was talking with my ex husband and he told me that his best friend said that because of some thing Obama passed the Army National Guardsmen will now get veterans benefits. This includes the ones who were in the National Guard in the past.

Anyone know if this is really true?

  • How much do used or pawned IPods really cost?

A girl I have become acquainted with had taken over a house cleaning business and had my best friend working with her whenever she needs extra help. I found out late last week that one of the clients accused the girl of stealing her daughters IPod that went missing.

When I talked to my best friend about it she said that ironically the girl had just gotten an IPod for $40 for her soon to be six year old daughter. I don't know how new the IPod is though I do know that brand new ones at Walmart were advertising for $150 not too long ago.

So if for instance the IPod is maybe a year or two old is it possible to get one for $40?

I was thinking that IPods were very popular and hard to find for under $100? How much would they run at a pawn shop?

This girl by the way has had a past history of stealing (including being banned from walmart) though it has been a few years. She seems like a great person and has many talents.

  • I have a 6 1/2 yr old with Sensory Integration Disorder who has behavioral problems. What are ways to deal?

What are some ways to deal with it? He will be seven in July.

This year has been the worst for him by far. A few months after school started he got kicked off the school bus for the rest of the year. Every couple of weeks he gets suspended off the Boys & Girls club bus and I was informed last week he is on the verge of getting kicked off that bus for the year which means he'll miss out on all the summer activities if that happens.

Last week he also got kicked out of school for a day after using his backpack as a "weapon" per the school principal.

However, the rest of the week he was phenomenal in school. He got his work completed and did mostly well with his classmates.

He has his good days and his bad days. I've been working on figuring out what exactly triggers some of this stuff going on.

His biggest issues by far are him not being able to keep his hands to himself. The teacher tried giving him an item to keep a hold of but she took that away saying it interrupted the class. He is already separated from his classmates having to sit by the teacher.

They want to put him on meds which I will not do. I have read on line that with SID there are ways to get it under control without meds.

I have been working on his diet doing my best to avoid things with red dye which I've been told can aggravate the situation. I limit him on candy and we do Not drink coke, dr pepper, etc.

I know he eats well in the morning as I've monitored what he consumes at school for breakfast. He takes his vitamins although we are working on doing this more consistently. That seems to help curtail some of the issues.

My boyfriend also believes that my son is sensitive to the flourescent lights at school and it aggitates him?

I would like to know from other parents who have children with SID how they have dealt with the behavioral issues.

  • All I lack is College Algebra for my math req. tried twice to take how can I pass it?

Last year I tried to take College Algebra twice and ended up dropping it right at the deadline to "legally" do so.

The first time I was taking it three days a week figuring I could understand it more. I even had an instructor I knew from my church. She even tutored me. Still couldn't pass the exams.

Then I tried it again in the summer time taking it everyday. I was even using the MyMath Lab a lot this time. Had the previous instructor tutoring me as well as my best friend. Still couldn't pass the exams worth a flip.

I have to have College Algebra to get my Bachelor's degree next Fall.

I have seen all kinds of books and stuff but I want something that will help me understand this and pass the class with at least a B (which would be a miracle for me).

  • Downloaded game on Wii. Played one time. Now it won't work?

I have two games downloaded on my Wii. One is mine and the other is one my daughter picked out.

I downloaded Sega Columns and played it one time. I went to play it again and it will load and then quit when I press start.

My daughter's game works fine (Zelda Ocarina of Time). She has played it numerous times.

    Any suggestions?
