  • External GPU help?

First of all, I have an Acer Aspire v 17 Nitro laptop.

    Intel i7-4720 2.6 ghz

    GTX 960M 4GB

    16 GB RAM

I can run most games fairly well but I think it needs a boost in the gpu. I have a AMD R9 280x from my brothers computer that I want to hook up externally. My question- is it possible to use both of them at the same time? Or would it be better to just use the r9 280x alone? Either way, what are the steps I would need to take to accomplish this?

  • Horror/Thriller book suggestions?

Well i'll start by saying i'm not a big reader. In fact, I rarely read. However, after reading "The Martian," I now need a new book.

It has to be thrilling and able to keep me interested. I am looking into horror/thriller books but I'm not sure where to start.

Stephen King seems like an obvious choice for horror but I just don't know if a 1000 page book can keep me interested.

Any recommendations? It doesn't have to be horror, it just needs to make me want to read the whole thing in one night.

  • Best defense in the NFL this season?

Title says it all. I believe if healthy, the NY Jets have the best defense although I may be slightly biased haha.

Anyway I was just curious what others thought.

  • AMD FX-9590 Max Temperature?

Well i've had this computer for awhile now (a year and a half) and all of a sudden I've been getting random fps drops. I downloaded the program "SpeedFan" to see my temps. The temp sensor says it's about 70C while i'm playing a game. and the core temp is around 60C. My question is if this is too high for my cpu and if it is what I should do. Thanks.

    Specs-

    CPU- AMD FX-9590 4.7ghz

GPU- AMD Radeon r9 280x 3GB HIS ICQ Edition

    RAM- 8GB

    HDD- 1TB West Digital Black

    SSD- 250GB

    I also have a Asetek 570LX 240MM Coolant

  • HDD to SSD question?

I just got my samsung ssd 250GB and I attached it and all. However, I am confused about how to transfer my OS (windows 7) to the ssd.

I have a 1TB hdd so transferring everything is impossible which is why I just want to transfer the OS. But how would I do that without erasing it?

  • Which computer is better for the price?

Well i'm looking to get a new gaming pc soon and im down to 2 choices.

First one is a Cyberpower PC for $1,120

    Specs-

    CPU- AMD FX-9370 4.40 GHz (4.7 GHz Turbo) Eight-Core AM3+ CPU 8MB L2 Cache & Turbo Core Technology

    GPU-AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16 Video Card (HIS IceQ X2 Edition w/ Double Fans)

    Memory- 8GB

    HDD- 2TB

The second one is a more expensive Alienware for $1,300

    CPU-4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4790 Processor (8MB Cache, up to 4.0GHz)

    GPU-NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 760 Ti with 2GB GDDR5

    Memory- 16GB

    HDD- 1TB

I'm not too good with computers so which one is better for the price? Is it worth it to pay more for the Alienware? And if both computers are bad, can I get a link to a better one?

    Thanks.

  • RC plane with camera help?

Ok so after watching a few videos of RC planes with an on board camera, I want to give it a shot. Im still sort of new with this hobby but I can still manage. Now the questions.

How big does the plane have to be to carry a camera? How do you set it up? What kind of camera works best?

If possible can you post a link to a RC plane that would work best? The lower price the better.

    Thanks.
