  • I need some Yugioh Cosplay Help- I am going as Ryou Bakura?

I am going as Ryou Bakura this year and I really need help with how to style my wig. I have a long white wig. It has straight hair. I have extensions I can sew in to make it poofy but a tutorial would be nice. Video tutorials are my favorite. I am going more natural rather than "CRAZY" like I would if I were Yami Bakura.

    Thank you.

  • How am I ever going to find the perfect dog for my family?

Everyone in my family wants something different. It is getting really tough on me because I am expected to find the perfect dog for everyone. I know a lot about dogs, I walk dogs, and train owners to walk their dog on the lead without the dog walking them.

My family and I are finally getting another dog after Champ passed away. Champ was a wonderful border collie/ lab mix that we adopted from the shelter when he was 3 years old. He was great with kids and was a total food hound. He was really smart too and I taught him to fetch some very odd things. We swore he was my little brother.

I am in larger family situation. I am 20 years old and I live with my family that includes my father, my step mother, my 3 year old brother, my 8 year old brother, and my 21 year old boyfriend. We are all planning on living together for a while because we are a tight family unit. We are actually thinking about moving to an even bigger house with an even bigger yard.

Activity level, what we like to do, what we individually want out of a dog:

Me: Highly active. I like to take a lot of long walks(2-7 miles). I love to play frisbee for hours. I take a 2 mile walk every day. I am also a training fiend. I love to teach dogs loads of tricks. Labs, Aussie Shepherds, Border collies.

My boyfriend: Low activity level. I would have to remind him to take the dog out if I got sick. Wants a "unique" looking dog- but this is not that important. He hates Beagles. "too average".

8 and 3 year old brothers: High activity level. They wear out my uncle Craig's 2 year old Golden Retriever. 8 year old loves Golden Retrievers, Labs, Aussie Shepherds, Beagles.

My Step Mom: She works a nursing job. It would be hard for her to do anything with the dog that was active. However, she wants a puppy! Wants a puppy to grow up with the family....*sighs*

My Dad: He is active, but seldom will walk the dog (past experience). Will take the dog to a ton of ball parks in the spring and summer. He does like to throw the ball around with a dog that will actually fetch it. If Champ stopped bringing it back, he quit. Dad wants a dog that is under 25 pounds. Likes Beagles. Thinks that a larger dog would be too hard to handle. (I obviously disagree)

    Home:

We live in a house with a decent yard. We were thinking about getting agility equipment so the dog would have something fun to do back there. Dog would would be an indoor dog. But we are outdoors a lot. There are many parks around where I live. Many trails I love to go to. Lots of rivers, lakes, streams. Pacific Northwest all the way.

Biggest concern: My 3 year old brother. He has killed a hamster already. He likes to squeeze things he things are cute. I think a puppy, especially one that will grow into a smaller dog, is the wrong choice.

I do want a puppy too, though, I just don't know if my parents really know what trouble a puppy will be with the three year old around. There is someone home all the time, so in a way it is the only time we could ever get a puppy and have the time to train it. Puppies are very destructive and aren't potty trained and those things are seemingly my dad's buttons. We will need to have a family meeting before we get a puppy. A full grown dog would be no issue.

If we do get a puppy it will be from a breeder that does all the genetic testing required for the breed. If we get a dog we will save a life and get one from the shelter. If Riza continues to want a puppy, we will get one from a breeder. If we get a puppy, I am not letting my parents skimp on anything. Puppy gets, what puppy needs. Out for potty every two hours, puppy kindergarden, vaccinations, whatev. Puppy gets a gold bone if it needs it.

Anyway, I feel like someone is going to have to give in. I know I am willing to, to find the right breed for my family, not just myself. However, I will be the one taking care of the dog in the end. My parents would simply be too busy.

  • Is the Kindest thing to Put her Down?

I have no money for the vet. I do have a vet that for minor things, yeah I could get it fixed, like, respiratory sickness. So don't lecture me. If this wouldn't involve surgery or more expensive medications, I would totally take her to the vet. But as someone who has had rats for over ten years, I am feeling like it may just be curtains down for this poor little ratty. :(

I adopted this rat knowing she would be a sickly rat. She already had one tumor removed and she immediately got a second. She is only 3 months old. Her name is Hope because I had hope that she would live a while as I have a couple of rats already, with some pain meds, are doing just fine while living with tumors. They still play and give me lots of kisses.

Unfortunately when introducing her to one of my rats in the tub a few days ago she got a little nip. It happens often when intros start I had not an inkling that the nip was on her tumor or anything like that. I checked her over and she looked fine. So far only one rat has completely rejected her during intros and I have a total of 9.

The bite got infected. It looks dark and nasty. I feel so guilty. I think I may have to put her down rather than get her further treatment. I am looking for other options.

If putting her down isn't what I should do, other than go to the vet, what do you suggest?

  • How do I get my rats to "kiss and make up"?

Two of my female rats are fighting over my male rat, Teddy. The fight started on top of his cage. Moxie, was the first rat to have a crush on him. It was pretty cute to see that whenever I let her out of the cage she would go and sleep next to his or talk to him. Isis, was the second to like him. I really don't think I am putting human emotions on this. Competing for a mate is normal rat behavior even between females.

Unfortunately, I had to separate Isis from everyone else for tonight because she and Moxie wouldn't stop fighting. I got really scared that they were going to kill each other. There are bite marks all over both rats.

I really don't know what to do. I really can't keep Isis separated from everyone forever nor can I have Moxie and Isis fighting to the death.

  • How do I go about finding free job training options?

I am 19 years old. I have never had a job other than unpaid experience acting and volunteer work at the library. I have been looking for 2 years, filling out apps, calling the employer, even for jobs I don't actually want. But I have been thinking, because my dad is giving me more time to live with him, I should ask for training for a trade or something. I want to work with animals, dog trainer, dog groomer, work at a pet store are all ideal jobs for me right now.

Do you think this is plausible? How would I go about asking for this?

  • Can someone Help Me find A Nature Scavenger Hunt For Kids?

I am trying to either create or find a nature scavenger hunt for kids. I live in Southwest Washington and I want to create a scavenger hunt for an 8 year old that I am babysitting for the summer that really needs to get off the video games and outside. This may just be the thing that will make going outside fun. I will more than likely involve my 8 and 11 year old cousins as well so there will be some competition.

Everyday this summer we will all being walking down a nature trail and I think this will be fun for me too because I don't know much about plant identification. So I may learn something as well.

Any help or advice would be of great help to me. Thanks!

Other science project ideas would be great.

  • Are there laws to Protect Small Animals in the United States?

To protect animals like rats, mice, hamsters, rabbits, and guinea pigs.

    If so, source please?

    3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade ago
  • Why aren't there laws or stronger laws against abusing small animals?

There are many cases of mice, rats, rabbits, and guinea pigs being bred and treated WORSE than dogs in a puppy mill. Yet, nothing is being done about it. "Nobody" cares. Even when it gets crazy out of hand and someone does have to come down there, if there are no dogs, cats, or horses- likely hood of them getting more than a slap on the wrist is slim to none.

Why is this? I don't get it. I know smaller animals have feelings.

Why aren't there stronger laws against ALL forms of animal abuse?

  • How do I keep a Two Year Old Brother Away from my soon to be Therapyy Dog?

    My Background:

Strangely enough I know a lot about dogs. I have trained several of my friends dogs. Because of my mother who should have never been a pet owner I have raised a dog from puppy hood many a time- her always getting mad at me for training it when she couldn't- then getting rid of it and starting over when I stopped training- because I was being scolded for this.

I am soon to be on SSI. I am mentally disabled. I am have a phobia of going outside alone, panic attacks, depression, and I have aspergers. My councilor has recommended me getting a dog and spending money I get from SSI to train and care for it as part of my treatment: This dog is going to go almost everywhere with me till I get "better" (able to function once more in public enough to where I can work again).

    PROBLEM!

I would prefer a smaller dog, but the problem I have with that is that I am living with my family and I have a two year old brother. He is a TERROR to all living things, human and animal. He squeezes. He hits (he runs up unoticed and punches my rats). There is no way I can have a descret smaller dog with him around is there? How do I keep my little brother away from my new dog?

What kind should I be considering getting insted of a descret smaller dog that wouldn't freak me out?

  • What Should I Buy So I Look Great?

I am a skinny girl- not that I am complaining....but I wish I had some hips and some breasts. Size one in women's or 24 inches at my smallest point. I am 5'7". I weigh 99 pounds. I have blond hair and blue eyes naturally.

I have NO idea what to do with myself. The only thing I have found I feel comfortable in is a costume. Mini skirt thigh high stockings corset top, maid hair piece, pig tails, and some "half gloves". Lots of bows and frills and petti coats. Why am I comfortable? It isn't me! I am hiding when I am wearing all of that. I really have to hang the old me up.

I look like a raccoon when I put on make up....least I think I do. My eyes often itch when I put on eyeshadow after only ten minutes then I take it off. I often lick off my lipstick, and chew off my nail polish before I even leave home. So most of the time I am make-upless.

I hate that I don't use my body well. However,I don't like it when people, namely friends pester me with things like showers and dressing nice. I should dress better.

Most of my insecurity lies in the fact that I have no boobs. I was officially measured at Victoria's Secret at just a AA 36. I have NEVER owned a bra that wasn't passed down.

Soon, I will be going shopping for new clothes. Most of mine have Hannah Montana on them, are from hot topic, have holes, are too big, or too small. Nothing looks good unless you go with my costume.

What should I be looking for? I am 19 years old. I want to be a vet. I love animals and I am around pets often. I need a makeover.

I know most fashions are supposedly for me. But- I don't want to be distracted by "OOOOOoooOOo this looks like something an anime character would wear!" I don't want to get one more pair of thigh high stockings that I hide under my hannah Montana jeans.

Can someone post some pics of what to look for?

How do I find a bra in my size? Do I have to get one from the tween section? I get so embarrassed.

What make up should I be wearing? How should I apply it so I don't look like a raccoon? All my make up is currently brown and BORING. That and it makes me look like I just smudged pigment on my face. It always smears....partly because of the eye touching.

  • How do I say...in japanese?

How do I say "I let children play with my rats today"

I am confused mostly on how to do the grammar for the sentence. I don't know how to do "allowance of others" yet. I know how to read hiragana and katakana. ^_^ You may show me the kanji but I would prefer the answer to be in hiragana.

  • What Tv Shows Should I Watch?

I loved Pushing Daisies but it was canceled a while back and I have been sad ever since.

I also loved shows like Dead Like Me, Dexter, Dark Shadows (original and revival), X-Files, Heroes (first season only), Dead Zone (first season only), Wonder falls, True Blood, Supernatural and, Queer as Folk.

I love quirky shows. Obviously by the titles I like dark humor and shows with death and the occult the best. But I will also watch shows if they have an interesting way of narrating a story. I loved Pushing Daisies because of all of the Symmetry.

I hate high school tv shows. I only luke warm liked Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I don't like The OC or Gossip Girl, or even Secret Life of an American Teenager.

Please and thank you for any and all suggestions!

  • Why are People so Rude? (pets) Still need help with my rat?

When I asked about my rat Teddy's aggression on here, I expected some other responses other than "get him neutered" and "don't get the pet unless you can afford the vet"

I fully explained that when I got Teddy and all the other rats in my care I could afford the vet. But I got fired so until I get a job and am able to afford Teddy's surgery- what should I do?

But everyone was rude. And just told me stuff I already knew. I wanted to know if there was a diet I could put him on. A alternative temporary solution I could use. Or just politely tell me that only a neuter will make him better.

I think the "Don't get the pet unless you can afford the vet" Was the comment that made me the maddest. I can find ways of getting the money for medications because they are only $20. Like if one had a respiratory sickness, I have a vet I can call and get the medication I need to make it better. But neuters are just not that way. I can't just get the tools and do it myself! That is cruel! His surgery is $150. There is only one vet that will do it with-in 15 miles of my house.

I think most can understand what it is like to be strapped for cash.Or even what it is like to fired and not be able to afford what you could before. So why do so many gotta be rude? And who expects when they get a rat to have to neuter him?
