I am 28, happily married and new momma of a beautiful little boy, born on July 6 2010.

  • Encouraging my son to walk?

My son is 16 months and still isn't walking on his own (yes I understand this is normal), but I was wondering if there is any helpful advice on how I can encourage him to take those first unassisted steps or even to just stand alone. He can pull himself up and stand and can cruise along furniture as well as climb. If I hold his hands or body as soon as I let go he falls to the ground or tries to sit.

    Any advice would be helpful.

  • New mom:Night time feeding and sleeping patterns.?

Right now my son can drink anywhere from 4-6oz in a setting (he is 7weeks). How much should we be feeding him before he goes to sleep? I am wondering this because I have heard that feeding him too much can lead to bed wetting issues, dependency on feeding to sleep, and later stomach issues. I would ask that you please site your source for how you came to this decision.

  • Triple/Quad Screening test....have it done or not?

At my last doctor's appointment he informed me that I would be able to do this test when I come back in Feb. Now I know that these test are not 100%, but my husband and I don't see eye to eye. He wants me to take the test and well I don't. I am afraid that it would cause me to totally stress if the test came back positive (and yes I would keep the baby no matter what). But the issue is my husband says that it's better to be prepared with what may happen then not know at all. Confused on what to do?

  • Is it possible that I am pregnant and do not know it?

It could be that I am just totally paranoid, but I was wondering when the earliest would

be that I could test to see if I am pregnant.

My husband and I had "relations" 2-3 times before the day that I started ovulating, which

was 1 1/2 - 2 weeks before my period was set to start. My periods are pretty regular, yes I

keep track. I know back in May my period only lasted one day and was very light.

I am now 2 weeks late on my current period, is there a chance that I am pregnant? I have taken

home test last week but it came back neg. Is it better to wait till I am about 4-6 weeks pregnant

    to test again?

My husband and I are but aren't trying and I would like to know,

because I get overly excited about things like this.

    Any advice would be helpful...

  • What should I do? How should I handle this situation?

I just recently got married to a man that I have been dating for over 2 years now. He has a beautiful 9 year daughter whom I love and adore.

Last Saturday I went to pick her up for our wedding(she lives with her mother). On the car ride back to my home she asked me..." can you and my dad have sex now?" I was a bit shocked, but not really. She has asked these kinds of questions before, as to asking when she can have a little brother or sister. She then went on to tell me that she knew what Hustler Hollywood was (an adult store) and was talking about things that her mother had bought( she saw the bag in her mother's room and asked questions, I assume). Now my question is..what should I do, I have told her that we shouldn't talk about these things, and this isn't something she should really know about at the age of 9!!! I want to bring it to her mother's attention that she told me this, because if she told me who else may she tell. But I don't know if it is my place or if my husband should tell his ex (he was rather upset when I told him, this is not the first time she has said things that she has seen).

How should I handle this situation, should I leave well enough alone, or speak with her mother?

  • Is this how Christian's should act?

Something that I have come to notice over the years of being a Christian is the arguing that goes on within the Christian community. I see this mostly when it comes to someones beliefs. See example below.....

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtULR...

This is something that is very common in the Christian community I have seen, as you can see it here in yahoo answers.

Why is it that people of different faith feel the need to bash someone else's beliefs?

I myself am a Latter Day Saint, my parents are not. They come at me with false information that we have proven time and again that is incorrect. We have invited them to come to church with us, but they choose not to, saying that they know all that they need to know about the cult that is leading me away from Christ.

My fiance is also LDS, they have told me that they don't accept my relationship with him, or will not accept my marriage to him as long as he is LDS. To me this is very racist act, and not very Christ like.

Just the other day my own sister felt she had to inform me that I wouldn't make it into Heaven if the rapture took place!

Is this how Christ wants Christians to act? To not seek out knowledge or truth? To dismiss / attack someone else's beliefs because they don't go along exactly like yours?

Didn't Christ Himself teach..Judge not least ye be judged? Or

"He that hath no sin cast the first stone?"

If this is what Christ taught us, then why are Christians so judgmental? And the first to cast someone to hell.

  • I have a '99 Sunfire and it won't start!?

A few weeks ago I went to start my car and it wouldn't. I was told by a mechanic that it was it was the starter. (It does nothing when you try and start it, and we had already charged the battery, actually we put a brand new battery in it). Today I had the starter replaced and much to my dismay it still won't start. Could there be any other reasons as to why it doesn't want to start? If so please help I really miss my car.

  • I have a heard time believing that Christ would act in such ways....?

Here on YA, and even irl I see people destroying what others believe. I see people telling others that unless they believe the same way as them they are going to burn in hell. I can't understand why a follower of Christ would spew such hate towards others. I always believed that Christ message was on of love not hate towards others. It is one thing to try and help someone, but it is another to make up complete lies about there belief and mock their belief... So what is your take on this, is this very Christ like?

  • Faith vs. Works..... How will be judge in the last day?

Many people say that works do not matter, that the only thing we need to do is rely on the grace of God, that works aren't what save us. Which is true we must have faith, but faith without works is dead...but I was reading in Revelations the other day and this scripture stood out.

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

If we are saved by grace and our faith, then why are we being judged by our works?

  • Why is it that people here on R&S feel the need to create one main name, then multiple names to ask questions?

then multiple names to ask questions so they can give themselves best answers? It's that kinda of like cheating, you are taking away what maybe the best answer and giving to yourself to raise your levels, or you best answer %.

  • The "Trinity" how do you explain it?

I have always believed that they are 3 seperate beings, two having bodies like ours(The Father and Son) and one as a spirit(Holy Spirit). It really bothers me when Christians tell me that they are the same person.

So I ask you, what is your belief on this topic..

And how do you answer questions such as....

Who was in Heaven while God was on earth as Christ?

Was Christ praying to Himself when He prayed?

How could God forsake Himself while hanging on the cross?

And how could God stand at His own right hand as Stephen saw in a vision?

  • Do you believe in a PRE-MORTAL existence? If not where did we come from?

    In Jeremiah 1:5 it says:

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I dordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

What do you take this to mean?

  • To people of all faith, what is the importance or meaning of Baptism to you?

Last Sunday I was in class and we started talking about different doctrines and how people/churchs view things differently. One doctrine that was brought up was "BAPTISM". I started to think about how even my family and I differ on the meaning/ importance of baptism, even though the scriptures are very clear on this doctrinal issue. People disagree on the way that it is to be performed, the reasons behind baptism, who has the authority to baptize, and the importance of baptism with salvation. So I would like to know what your beliefs are when it comes to someone being baptized, and also some scripture to back up your belief as well.

Why is there so much confusion in this world when it comes to religion, Paul taught us that... "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."

  • Latter-Day Saints and other Christians...... I recently went out with the Elder Missionaries to a ladies home.

She had posed a question when we were talking about baptism and the laying on of hands for the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. The question was...Why do I need to have someone lay their hands on my head for a gift that I believe is from God and not man? And if I believe I already have the gift of the Holy Ghost?

How would you answer this question?
