Hiya, i'm Helen, 27 from Manchester, UK. I work as a Contract administrator for G4S.

  • How to fully reset Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop?

My boyfriend put an administrator password on our laptop (we use Windows Home Vista) and has forgotten it, now we can't upload or install anything. I've tried and tried to reset the password and it's not working, so I need to now reset the whole thing. How do I do it, does anyone know? I don't have a reset disk or anything.

  • Would mild dyskaryosis stop me from concieving?

I got the results of my smear test back on Friday and it said I have mild dyskaryosis. We have been trying to concieve for about 10 months now, would this be the reason I haven't concieved yet? Can this is any way lead to infertility? I can't find that much about it on google.

  • Disoriented or Disorientated?

Which is correct? The Oxford English Dictionary says both are ok, but which one would be used, in the sense of saying someone's confused and/or a bit lost?

  • Can someone explain how the new tax rate will affect me?

I understand the VAT thing, it's the income tax thing i'm unsure of.

Ok, so I earn £20k and my partner earns £15k, we have have a mortgage together and live in Tameside, Greater Manchester. How does the new 10p tax rate affect us? I assume this means we'll be better off but by how much? Also the pending change in NI - I know this will affect me because I earn £20k but again how much will it affect my wages? Will this cancel out any monetary gain from the new tax rate?

    Thanks :)

  • Would a warning show on an employment reference (UK)?

I have received a written warning from my employer (ridiculously for going on Facebook in work for like 2 minutes on 2 occasions and I never even had a verbal). I have now found a much better job and am just wondering if the written warning would show on a reference requested by my new employer?

  • Can you help with my CV?

Ok, i'm starting to look for a new job and am just unsure how to word what I do in my current job in a few bullet points, can anyone help?

When I first started the job I was covering for a woman who was on maternity leave for 8 months. What I did then was basically, well this is a company that makes light fittings and I dealt with the logistics side of it all - getting the goods out to our customers in the UK. I was kind of a department all on my own and made all the decisions about what to send, when, which delivery company to use, and I had my own budget for things like freight companies, and I also dealt with any issues/problems and dealt with the customers themselves. I was like my own boss, there was a lot of responsibility involved.

While i was doing this I was also getting involved in Imports and Exports and since the woman I was covering for came back from Maternity leave i've been doing the exports and imports as my full time job. What I do here is - on Imports I deal with our Chinese suppliers a lot and constantly have to chase them for our orders! And with Exports I deal with all of our international customers orders, including arranging direct orders which are sent from our supplier directly to the customer - in the UK or internationally. I was given my own account to completely look after and deal with(Focus DIY) when they were placing loads of Direct orders - £1.5million worth! This was a very big deal. Again I make the decisions when it comes to paying for freight and which export/import companies to use.

I'm now very knowledgable about imports, sea freight, air freight, and all the laws, rules and regulations surrounding these and to be honest i'm clever and i'm good at my job.

Now how do I get all that down to a few bullet points - say a maximum of 7??

    Thanks :)

  • Celebrity BB 2009 question?

The celebs rumoured to be in celeb BB 2009 so far are:

    Ian Wright

Verne Troyer (mini me out of the Austin Powers films)

    Cliff Richard

    Whitney Houston

    Mutya Buena (ex Sugababe)

Lembit Opik (the MP who dated a Cheeky Girl)

    Ross Kemp

    Kim Kardishian (who??)

There are actually a couple of pretty big names there (Whitney, Cliff etc) not like the usual Z listers lol!

I know some (or all!) of you might already know these, my question is does anyone else know any celebs rumoured to be in it other than those above?

    Thanks :)

  • Overdraft question (Halifax Bank) Uk?

Good old Halifax have written to me saying they are taking my overdraft off me and that i have to pay them £2500 by the 1st October. I have spoken to them and they will not let me keep my overdraft.

My question is, what are my rights? Will they let me pay it back in instalments? If not, what would the worst case scenario outcome of this?

I have another account witrh Halifax, which is a joint account I hold with my fiance. Can Halifax take money out of this account to cover my overdraft?

    Thanks

  • That new film 'The Strangers' - can someone explain the ending to me?

I just didn't get it. Who were the people in the masks & why were they trying to kill that couple? Why was the girl in a different room at the end when the little boys found them and why did she have that dress on that she had gotten changed out of earlier in the film?
