  • Is a soldier ever responsible for purchasing his own equipment?

There was recently a fundraiser for a family member who is in Afghanistan right now. We were told that he is responsible for purchasing his own body armor. The person who organized the fundraiser has been known to exaggerate in the past, so I was wondering if this was true. I was under the impression that things of that sort were provided to our soldiers.

  • Where do you report IRS scams?

Isn't there an e-mail address where you can report or forward those fraudulent scam e-mails that end up in your spam folders? I have received two so far. Thanks in advance for any information.

  • If you are terminated, is the employer obligated to give you a copy of the termination paperwork?

We live in Florida, and he was let go about a month ago. He was led to believe he was being laid off due to downsizing, but when he filed for unemployment, his former employer contested the claim. That issue has been taken care of , but he realized that he never received copies of the termination paperwork. By law, isn't he entitled to a copy for his personal records?

  • My cat won't stop scratching on my furniture!?

We adopted him about 3 and half years ago, he was 1 or 2 years old at the time. he was fine for the longest time, but now he is destroying my furniture. De-clawing is not an option for us, he is 5 or 6 and I feel it would be cruel to do it now. We have a scratching post and other such toys, but he ignores them. Any suggestions?

  • I feel horrible, what can I do?

The home we have been renting for the last 2 and a half years is now in foreclosure. We have a LARGE pit bull/lab mix. Most of the places we have looked into renting will not accept a dog that large or have breed restrictions and purchasing a home is not an option for us right now. We have a friend, who has watched the dog for us before who would love to have him. The dog is crazy about him and he lives in a house with lots of land and kids to play with, so I know he would be happy and well taken care of. The thing is I just feel rotten about giving him up. We have had him since he was a puppy and I feel like I am abandoning him and shirking my responsibility as a pet owner. Please help!!

  • Tenants rights when home in foreclosure?

We are renting a home in Florida and we just found out the home is in forclosure. The mortage has not been paid since December 2007 and we have paid our rent in full every month. I know that foreclosure can take time, and we have a reasonable period in which to find another place to live, but is there anything we need to do to protect ourselves? A process server delivered the documents to us last night and said we have 20 days to respond. I have no idea what we are responding to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.!!

  • Nosy dog ???

Our neighbors just added on a screened lanai with a pool, so they are outside a lot now. When I let my dog outside he always goes to that side of the yard and whines and barks. He's not being agressive, he just wants the attention from the neighbors, but I don't want thim to become a "problem" barker. Any tips on how to break him of this?

  • Can we sue for his rent?

We had a roomate and he decided to move out without telling us. He waited until we were both at work and moved all of his stuff out. He paid us $800.00/ month in weekly installments. Is he legally responsible for the last $400.00 he owes for this month? We are on the lease for the house, but he has lived there as long as we have.

  • How can I bring up the subject of marriage without freaking him out?

We have been together for almost 6 years. When we first got together neither one if us ever wanted to get married. (we both have been married before) Now that we have been together for a while and we are both very happy and content with everything in our relationship, I would like to be his wife. He is still very anti-marriage. I would like to talk to to him about it though. It is not a "deal-breaker" and I will not give him an ultimatum. I would just like the opportunity to discuss it with him and I'm not sure how to bring it up in a non-threatening manner. Even if he still feels the same after the discussion, I would be happy to continue on with the way things are.

  • Who likes to Karaoke?

I live just outside of Naples Florida and I love to sing Karaoke. The only problem is that I don't really know too many people here yet and the few friends I have made aren't into the karaoke thing. I know a few places around with karaoke, but I really don't feel comfortable going into a bar by myself. I can get my bf to go once in a blue moon but I would like to go more often.

  • Wedding shower for same sex marriage?

A very good friend of mine has just gotten engaged and is planning a wedding for next year. I would like to have a wedding shower for the two of them but I'm not sure where to start. Should I do a traditional shower or should I make it a more casual couples shower. I would like this to be a suprise for the two of them. Both of them are laid back beer and pizza kind of guys.
