  • Not sure how to feel..I missed a chance to get to talk to a guy?

I was taking the bus home and happened to sit near a really nice looking guy. But he was asleep. But I thought it'd be really cool if I could just say something to him or do something to give me an excuse to talk to him. He woke up for a few seconds and I thought I should nudge him and say "you're really good looking" (or something more interesting). But I just didn't say anything and watched him walk off the bus. :p Now I'm kind of frustrated that I missed my chance. What do you think I should have done? Is it ok that I didn't get to talk to him? Cuz it kinda sucks :p

  • Can you elaborate on how the butterfly effect actually works?

Ok so I know what the butterfly effect theory is, but I'm not really clear on what events can occur from the flap of a tiny butterfly's wings that would lead to a massive tornado in another location. I get as far as thinking that the butterfly causes a slight ripple in the air but that's about it.

What events after that happen to lead up to the tornado in a far off location? It seems hard to believe-I think mass media has oversimplified it, ad I'd like to know about it in a little more detail.

    Thanks for your answers :)

  • If water molecules are changed by emotions, can they be changed again even after microwaving?

ok so they say that your emotions can change the molecular structure of water-negative moods can give water molecules a darker tighter structure while positive moods can make them more beautiful (or something like that). But my question is, if water molecules are changed by microwaves, are they still affected by emotions?

  • Why is it so easy to chat to strangers online but so hard to talk to them in public?

Besides security measures I mean. People really aren't that bad. If you have any ideas on how we can start chatting to people in real life the same way we do online, I'd like to hear them.

  • Does anyone else get a lot of stray hairs after eating wheat products?

I feel like I'm the only one. I can't find any website that talks about it. There are websites that say that it messes up your hormones, but it doesn't talk about stray hair growth specifically. But I find it really annoying. Seems every time I eat something with wheat in it, I get lots of stray hairs under my chin and I'm forever plucking it. I don't get cramps or anything else from eating wheat, just the stray hairs. So I'm not sure if I'm intolerant to it, so much as it's just a pain in the butt.

  • What are some small things you think you could do to improve society?

I've been thinking, if we all came together to increase positivity, we could do wonderful things.

I think, if we talked more to others as we took the bus or drove the car, like say, gave a thumbs up to others or made others smile by complimenting them on what they were wearing or something, that we could share more with each other and improve society as a whole.

I also thought, if we just gave $1 to our favorite charities, dropped "lucky pennies" on the street for others to find later, or wore bright t-shirts or clothes with inspiring messages on them, we could lift people up and help each other out instead of keeping ourselves isolated.

    What ideas do you have?

People used to consider finding pennies lucky, but do they still?

  • Is there anything I can do to help my strict sisterinlaw ease up on her toddlers?

I was just at a dinner party last night with my family, which included my brother, my sisterinlaw and her 2 kids under 5 years old. Barely a moment goes by when she just lets them be. She is always telling them how to sit, what to eat, threatening to pull them away from the table once the 2 year old starts crying...She tries overly hard to make sure the kids hug every relative after they've given them a present, so much so that my littlle 2 year old nephew has asked for no more presents . She's very pragmatic and I can't stand to see her talk to my nephews like this. When I sat at the table with my nephews, she told me "This is buffet style, Kim.Only the kids under 7 are getting served." I'm starting to really hate her. I can't stand how my family just says nothing about it, like they don't want to offend her or anything. I really don't want to offend her either, and I know she's probably feeling immense pressure to please which is why she tries to control the kids every movement. But it really puts everyone on edge, especially me.

Is there anything I can tell her that will persuade her to be calmer in such family situations? Cuz it really stresses me out seeing how she relates to them.

  • What are some good vegetarian meals to take for lunch?

    Besides salads and cheese sadwiches?

Are there any cold meals I can take? I'm not really a fan of chili, and you have to heat up veggie dogs and hot dogs.

    Thanks :)

  • Do vegetarians still eat 3 meals a day if the meals they have are more filling?

I just wondered about this, because since I became a vegetarian and started eating more vegetables for my meals, I don't feel as hungry when the regimented meals come around. Not dinner anyway. I still have breakfast and lunch, but they're kind of light meals, and most of the time I don't feel hunger pangs-I just eat because it's socially required. Most people think eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day is ideal, but is it normal not to feel hungry when dinner comes?

  • Is there a feature on Facebook that you can set to like things automatically?

    Hi

I'm relatively new to Facebook, and i made a post on vegetarianism being a good way to eat. Well then my cousin in Toronto "liked" it, which I thought was cool. But then something seemed to come up that said Russell Brand, Drew Barrymoore and Jacob Hoggard also "liked" it. I kind of thought this was even more cool (even though I don't think Jacob Hoggard is a vegetarian). But then that notice disappeared. Like it didnt show up as a red mark or anything, it just said "such and such also likes this." I just wondered if it was my imagination or do these celebrity PR people that manage the facebook pages set certain things to be liked because they are in concordance with these celebrities beliefs?

  • What is the point of doing this in therapy?

I started taking therapy a couple of months ago, because I'm pretty stuck in my life. No friends, never had a boyfriend, I'm not on any career path, etc etc, Yesterday we talked about how I criticized and analyzed most of what I said growing up because I thought I had to say just the right thing all the time. And then we talked about how I shut down cuz I developed early and felt like a freak (I had like FF boobs on my 5'3 frame in grade 6.) We covered how hard it was to be bullied in school, how teachers didn't understand, etc etc. Even how my parents might not have understood the depth of my awkwardness and insecurity, though I understand where they were at and I don't harbour a grudge towards anyone for my problems. I ended up crying a lot though, and afterwards it just made me feel like more of a victim than anything. What was the point of drudging up those memories? It's not like I wasn't aware of them before. She just says she wantsd me to "feel," which in this case, means feeling sad like I'm grieving or something :p Ordinarily I'm quite happy and jovial, despite having issues in my life. What am I supposed to learn from this kind of session? A part of me is starting to wonder about her technique.

I am. Just wondered how many others of you were too. And what kinds of issues you were trying to deal with.

  • Do you lucid dream more after becoming vegetarian?

I seem to be able to. But they seem to happen spontaneously. One two weeks ago, and the other this morning. Is this common with vegetarians? Is there something else I can do to have more lucid dreams? I do meditate, but nothing really happens.

Not really sure what category to put this in, but I figured Vegetarian/Vegan would be a touch better than Religion/Spirituality, as not all people there are vegetarians.

  • Advice on opening the third eye?

I meditate sometimes for 20-30 minutes, and sometimes I'll get a cooling sensation in the third eye area of my forehead, but I'm not sure what this means. Is my third eye opening? How will I know when it's completely open? Should I meditate longer in order to be able to open it up more? How long should I meditate?

    Thanks for all your answers.

  • Why am I having these thoughts?

Ok so I've never had anything violent happen to me, but lots of mornings when I wake up, I end up thinking about being mugged, attacked, maybe raped. I have thoughts about being stalked and held with a gun against my throat, and recently I've had images of someone with an axe at my neck. Why the heck am I having these thoughts if I've never suffered any kind of abuse? I'm not suicidal, I'm not on drugs, and my family life is pretty good.

  • What does it mean in a dream when you're suddenly lucid?

Ok so I've known about lucid dreaming for some time, but have rarely been able to control my dreams, and even if I can, it doesn't last very long and I can't do very much. Last night though, I had this dream where I was conscious and I could ask my dream characters questions. But it ended before I could get the answers I wanted. One character was sarcastic and seemed annoyed with me. What did it mean to become lucid in the first place? Does this make the events in the dream more important somehow? It really left me confused, and feeling a bit rejected.
