2 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks6 years agoHow would you explain a hard drives functions to someone?
How would you describe a hard drive to someone who doesn't know about technology (at all)? Is there anything you would compare it to, like the brain, a part on a car or tv? Something the average, non-savvy person would relate to?

1 AnswerPolls & Surveys8 years agoWhere to Buy Prop Money (Singles)?
Alright so I'm getting ready to shoot a video and I've been reading that its illegal to shoot video and take pictures of real money without deleting the original files (I want to keep them just incase). So does anyone know where I can buy some prop $20 singles? Iv searched all over and have only found bundles.. I have a scene that needs singles though so this isnt good.
Also, if you know of a way I can get away with using my actual $ I'd be more than willing to just go through the extra security measures to make sure none of it actually "disappears" during the shoot.
Photography8 years ago*Beginner* Question about understanding lens sizes?
Hello, I'm new to the photography/videography game so I thought id ask for alittle help here. My issue is that a couple of weeks ago I purchased a 40mm lens for my Canon T4i and I've loved it so far.. Only problem? No zoom. Im in the process of picking up a second lense now that should be able to zoom, AF (though I dont use it, but good for my employees until they learn MF), and of course MF, but honestly im a little confused on the technical side of it.. I now understand exactly how large a 40mm is, so if I purchase either the 28-105mm or the 18-55mm lens if I understand correctly these should be able to zoom in up to 28 or 18 and zoom out for a wide angle of 55 or 105, correct? Also, these lenses should be able to hit right on the 40mm mark as well, right? If thats not correct would you mind clarifying for me? And also, which one would you recommend? I'll be mainly shooting music video and promotional pictures. Close ups would be great though! I just want the biggest bang for my buck right now so I get get out of the store and into the studio again.
Thanks!
3 AnswersCameras8 years agoSony Vegas HD Settings for Youtube?
My question is, what settings would get me a low file size but still let me keep HD quality videos on Youtube? HD meaning 1080p on the options.
Pretty much right now im recording with FRAPS, I take the raw FRAPS footage and throw it into Sony Vegas for editing.. After that I actually watched another video on Youtube explaining the settings for HD quality and followed the directions.. unfortunately though, my latest 3 minute video came out to be 733mb.. This cant be right can it? I mean 2 hour movies sometimes dont even take up that much space after rendering! So if someone can please give me some advice id much appreciate it to save me from a 6 HR upload time..
1 AnswerYouTube8 years agoGood DSLR for Music Videos?
Hello, we're looking for a good DSLR within our budget. Honestly I dont know much about specs yet but have been studying for about 2 months now trying to gain confidence about a purchase.. hasnt happened yet. Our budget is currently $600-700 (might do $800) and for the last month or so my research has lead me towards the Canon t4i and I almost gave in after hearing that another very popular record label actually uses the t4i for MTV videos (and even uses the t3i and t1i for photos). Now I know its all about the lenses and lighting, but I just want a camera that CAN put out great quality IF we setup the set correctly (which will be done).
Id just like some opinions on the situation from someone who knows their stuff. Here are some requirements that would be great to have, though some can be worked around:
-Within budget
-Weatherproof (I know the t4i isnt, but we can work around it.. would be awesome though to get some great rain shots though)
-1080p videos, though we will work with 720 if ABSOLUTELY neccessary
-Does nice in low lighting
-Professional picture quality
-Can take ALOT of use
-Fast shutter rate (one of my artists is a skater and we often take pics of him doing tricks)
-External mic jack (for interviews and behind the scenes shots)
-Compatible with generic stabilizers and dollies
-Wide range of lenses would be nice
Thank you for your opinions and contributions :)
5 AnswersCameras8 years agoDo All Webpages Have To Match?
Hey, I was wondering. Does it really matter if your site doesnt look all the same? I mean iv been designing a website and wanted to install a blog (+ a News section that would be hosted on blog software making 2 blogs), Store and forum. The only thing is I havent figured out how to install a custom header (if thats even possible) on either one, but I really like these themes I found for each anyways.
Does it give off an unprofessional look? Or do people just not care as long as they get what they came for and have lots of content to look at and a place to socialize and enjoy the reads/entertainment? I mean, 10-15 pages WILL look the same, but the only different ones will be the Blog, Store, News and Forums.
Any opinions are appreciated, thank you :)
2 AnswersOther - Internet9 years agoWebsite Design User Preference?
Morning everyone,
Iv got a quick question. My company is working on graphically updating our website this month, but at the same time we're getting rid of some code issues and trying to make it a universally pleasing site (ie. Firefox, IE, Opera, ect..). However, we've run into a crossroads and instead of just decide I thought we should ask everyone how they feel about it.
The crossroads is: When listening to music on a website which also hosts a blog, forum, and store to browse through, knowing that nowadays all browsers just about support multiple tabs, would you rather have an embedded player within the page, or a pop up player such as seen on podomatic? Note that this wont effect mobiles since we're making a separate site for them. Just looking for 100% honest opinions, and if you have something to offer to your side of the argument then please feel free :)
1 AnswerOther - Entertainment9 years agoNeed some quick help with this?

1 AnswerRap and Hip-Hop9 years agoDo you know the name of this old cartoon movie? Any help appreciated?
Does anyone know the name of this movie?
The biggest part I remember from it is that theres this taxi driver whos supposedly in a future type taxi. Well 2 guys (i think) get into the backseat of his cab and point a gun at him asking for the money. The taxi driver then uses his foot to hit a button on the floor that incinerates the robbers.
it was a dark kind of cartoon i believe, i remember some death and what not. I think itd be hard to track down if no one knows simply because the only time i remember seeing it was on STARS verrrrry late at night when I was a kid.
Any leads or names are much appreciated! Even if you dont know the name but have seen the movie and remember different parts please include that :) Im on the hunt
4 AnswersComics & Animation9 years agoNeed to know if this is illegal?
I know that writing permanent graffiti on any public structure/surface is illegal without prior consent from the government. But I was wondering if its illegal to write on a public street with "temporary" paint, the kind that dies out after 10-14 days? The way I see it is that if its only temporary and isnt ontop of anything important like a crosswalk or near a "RR Crossing" then it should be fine no? Seeing as how no one will have to pay for cleanup costs its not technically considered graffiti is it?
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoQuestion About Buying A Car?
Iv never bought a car before from a dealership, only private sellers so im kind of new to this type of thing. Im planning on buying a car and I was looking around for one, well I came upon this perfect model I wanted and it was very reasonably priced ($400) from a dealership. Since it doesnt have alot of miles and looks to be in great condition im wondering is there some type of catch? I mean, I know some places ask you to pay for the car and then catch up on the payments and whatnot. So can anyone with dealership experience help me out here? I just want to know if its just a flat out rate or notl
Details: Used, 30k miles, no issues, fully loaded
3 AnswersBuying & Selling10 years agoAudio Skipping Issue (Brand New Comp)?
My computer is just killing me..
Ok heres the issue, most music I play has been skipping (a small amount) on Windows Media Player so i switched over and was using VLC player to test if it was WMP that was causing the problem, VLC performed as it should so i had diagnosed WMP.. ok heres the catch.. I then proceeded to play a movie on VLC and bam.. skipping audio through out the entire thing.. I took the movie to my ps3 to test it and it wasnt the movie that was buggy.
Now whats got me puzzled is my old system use to play audio/video flawlessly with only 2 GB RAM and a single core CPU.. well this system has 8 GB RAM and a tri-core CPU. How is this possible? I created this system to enhance my audio/video editing but if it cant even play a simple song or play a video without glitching then iv screwed myself..
Any suggestions?
Iv installed all the latest drivers for audio from the motherboards site
OS: XP Pro 64-Bit Service Pack 2
Motherboard: MSI 870-G45
CPU: AMD Athlon 2 X3 455 3.30 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
Dual Graphic Cards: Mystical & GeForce 8400 GS
2 HDD: 1tb (Main Drive), 500 GB (Storage)
If anymore info is needed then please ask away so i can get this figured out.. Thanks

4 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop1 decade agoBest Way To Multi-Boot?
Ok guys, im building a new computer next week once the parts arrive and i want to begin planning for the setup.
To start off im planning on installing XP, Win 7, and Ubuntu. I need xp for certain audio/video/photo editting software that isnt compatible with Win 7, I need Win 7 for the latest games, and I need Ubuntu because well.. Iv always wanted to try a linux os
Im getting a 1TB HDD and will be splitting it up into 4 partitions. XP:400 GB Win 7: 300 GB Ubuntu: 250 GB Storage: 50 GB. This HDD will also be accompanied by a 2nd Backup Drive.
Now iv never done a multi-boot system and need some input on this, such as.. what order? ( Im thinking XP > 7 > Ubuntu), is it really more efficient to do separate partitions for the Windows installations?
I'll also add that im installing 64-bit windows os's instead of 32-bit if it makes a difference.
Thank You :)
4 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoNeed Assistance Building A Business/Gaming Computer?
Ok, iv decided that my computer is frustrating me and I feel its now time for an upgrade. This upgraded PC must be able to support high end musical/video/photo editing (sometimes at the same time), run browsers with 20+ tabs with multiple browsers running at the same time, and play games on mid to high settings such as The Sims 3 and such.. Must also be able to support 3 Monitors and at least 4 USB drives.
OS - Xp or Win 7 (depending on how good it feels)
Network Adapter - NETGEAR GA311
Graphic Cards - Matrox Graphics Mystique PCI / NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS (these suit well for now)
CPU - Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.20 GHz (Will upgrade if needed)
HD - There will be 2 HD's, the main one with 2 partitions and the Backup drive (Both Western Digital)
CD Drives - Theirs a standard one that came with my other computer id take out and use along with an HP Lightscribe that will be installed as the 2nd one so please make the case able to support both of these drives plus Floppys.
With all that information im now looking for mainly a good unison between Motherboard, Processor (if neccessary), Fan, and Case.
I want a motherboard that can support between 8-24 GB RAM
A Processor that will let all these things work in unison (preferably a multi-core processor)
A fan that will keep the CPU cool and wont have to worry about shorts
A Case to fit it all in, point me in the right direction with the motherboard and i'll probably pick out a cool looking case :)
Thank You :)
2 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoName of this gospel song!?
Theres a song (african american singer) where there are 2 singers. They're talking back and forth and one is the dad (deep voice) and the other is the son. They're talk/singing about something (i cant rememebr) and then they start to pray together. There's also a girl that comes in at certain points and sings but i cant exactly remember what she says. If ANYONE knows the name of this song I will instantly make you best answer no problem.
Also, it was a pretty popular song. It had alot of radio play and is by a famous singer but i cant remember his name to save my life.. Thank you everyone.

2 AnswersMovies1 decade agoGame Freeze Issues (Need Help)?
Ok so heres the story guys..
I bought a game a couple of days back and it had minor scratches around the middle part (the transparent part) so i took it back and exchanged it for another disk of the same game. This last disk had light scratches on it but it still played which is more than the other one would do. So i played the game through up to level 3 and then.. bam midway through the fight it froze! So today i took the disk up to the game shop again and they fixed it with the repaid machine and it made it look brand new... until i got home. I played it again and guess what? boom, died during the 3rd level again.. It doesnt freeze during 2 player matches, just during the story line.
So what do you guys suggest? The game is Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and it freezes during the fight with vegeta after the vocals go out at the beginning of the level leaving just the fight noise.
Is my ps2 disk messed up? is it my ps2 period? Its a slim ps2
