Need help please, re-installing my Epson printer?
Everything was fine until the day I said yes to offered update, though I changed my mind when the windows warning message came up - but the update went through anyway! When it was finished, my printer was nowhere to be found on my laptop. Been trying since then to re-install. Disc no good as laptop says none of the software is compatible! Wizard offers me a "plug and play" option - don't know what that is anyway, plus wizard then doesn't detect anything.
Today tried Epson's guide. Two options: 1. "WPS push button setup wizard - press the WPS button on the router/access point [my router has one button on the front, looks like this ((I)) so that's what I pressed] or if there's no buttom click the button in your routers software setting utility [HOW do I get into that? I have the IP address and all info but don't know how to "get into" a "utility" to click a button]. Then press WIFI [on printer?] for 3 seconds.
"If that fails [and it does] check WIFI communications mode IEEE802.11 set for my access point matches the one support by my printer" - HOW?!?
"Check whether or not DHCP function for access point is enables. If disabled, change to enable" - HOw? WHERE??
or 2. enter WPS pin code set up wizard. Got the WPS pin code but again, where and how to I enter it?
Done the obvious, I think, like check laptop enabled for wifi (but it was already). I'm windows xp. Wonder if I've been unwittingly upgraded to Internet Explorer 8 cos I don't recognise anything or the language. Any help please?

2 AnswersCooking & Recipes8 years agoHow do I re-tune my digital TV having lost a couple of favourite channels?
I moved house, plugged in my digital tv, and only got BBC and the shopping channels and a long list of, for instance, French station (can't remember name) - not tuned, Spanish station - not tuned. So I called the TV man who did something that took 2 seconds and charged me £30. But then I found my DVD/video recorder wouldn't record, only play back. So I phoned him and he said that's because your tv is digital but your recorder (that I bought with the TV last year) is not... so I'd need a digibox.
Bought the digibox, connected the digital TV and non-digital recorder, and I've lost several of the channels including my favourites, Film 4 and Dave. Actually I could initially get them and watch for 5 - 10 mins before they faded out and displayed the message "not tuned." !
Short of paying the man another £30 to come back... does anyone know how I can get Film 4 and Dave (and Dave Ja Vu) back? When I first plugged in, the digibox did an automatic tune; I had no input. I cannot find anything on 'Menu'' or 'Tools' or 'settings' or anywhere re tuning. And even if I disconnect the digibox and restore it to how it was, i.e. put the aerial back directly into the TV, I still now cannot get those missing channels.
Bother! and Help please?
1 AnswerTVs1 decade agoWhy does the colour ink cartridge run down when I've only ever used the black?
Got a new HP printer (HP photosmart C4600 series), loaded it with colour cartridge and black cartridge, and whenever I print - so far only in black - I get a little onscreen picture showing how much ink is left. The black ink has gone down fast. But the colour ink has also gone down, by about half. How can this be, and why, when I've used no colour ink at all yet?
5 AnswersPrinters1 decade agoUpdated Open Office to 3.1; should I delete Open Office 3.0?
Just bought brand new laptop, installed with Open Office. As soon as I went to use it, I was offered update to 3.1, so I said yes. Now I have OpenOffice 3 and OpenOffice 3.1 on my desktop. Obviously I can delete the icon/shortcut but should I delete the program too? Reason I bought lapatop was to have more space for my daughter's gaming.
3 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoHow can I put channel 5 back on my television?
I've been using my Sky box (without a subscription for the moment) as a digibox and receiving tv through that cos I like using Sky's planner and channel auto switch. But recently everything got unplugged. When it was all plugged back in, I'd lost settings from when I last had a Sky subscription, that is the BBC1 channel is now London, instead of Southwest (that's OK, I simply found BBC southwest and flagged it as a favourite) and I don't mind watching ITV Central instead of whatever I had before. But I cannot find Channel 5 anywhere! On the TV guide it hops straight from 104 (ch. 4) to 106 (sky 3). It's not listed anywhere - neither is Fiver - and I can't find it manually.
There's a place you can add channels on system set up but it wants frequencies and I don't know them.
Does anyone know how I can get Channel 5 back on sky? OK, now I've realized it's missing, I can get it on the digital set. It's just I'd like to solve the mystery of where it's gone! And also it's more convenient having it all on the sky tv guide. Thanks for any info or tips
3 AnswersOther - Television1 decade agoWhere's the question from the 13 year old asking about jobs without GCSEs,interested in the military?
Just now there was a boy asking if he had to have gcses to get a job, or what jobs he could do without gcses; said he was interested in firearms and the military, called himself dumb. He had some rubbish answers. I looked it up for him and now I've lost the question! If you see this, you CAN join the armed forces without qualifications, and they train you. That's always been a feature of their recruitment ads. So for instance the person who said you had to have a driving licence to be a driver in the army is wrong; you can join the army and then get your driving qualification. Look on www.army.mod.uk There's also some Connexions information sheets on all the armed forces and the police. If you don't know about Connexions, google it, it might be quite useful.

Re your question on mind/body duality or dualism - I can't tell without knowing the context. My guess would be duality, but it's a guess without context.
1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoWindows XP or Vista? How to decide what to buy?
If buying a new laptop now, would you go for windows xp (very familiar for me) or Vista? And what are the main differences? This question was asked on Yahoo a year ago and the consensus seemed to be Wait a year or so until they've got the glitches sorted out. Well, have they?? Some people say don't touch it and other say of course get Vista, it's the Future. Actually, some of the answers to this question will probably be likewise split! How do I make my decision???
7 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoHow do you move files from one user account to another on Windows xp?
I have two user accounts and want to delete one of them - after moving the files I want to keep over to the other - so that I have just one user account with all my files on it.. How do I move those files, from one user account to the other, before deleting one of the accounts?
The Files Transfer Wizard is for moving files from one computer to another. What I'm asking is how to move the files on the same computer from one user account to the other so that I can delete the first and just have the one user account. Words of one syllable please! Thanks
3 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoI opened a second user account, in windows xp; how do I now transfer the stuff from there back to main account?
Now I want to close the second user account and have everything back on just the one, main administrator, account, but at the same time keep all the second user stuff (for example, the advanced Sims Life things!) But I don't know how to transfer them. I've read Microsoft's Q&As and Yahoo's other people's questions and answers - and still don't understand how to do it! So can I please have some very simple instructions e.g. 'Then navigate to ...' doesn't mean anything to me; can some kind person take pity and just say 'Then click on this, do that, etc.'? Thanks a million.

1 AnswerInsurance & Registration1 decade agoGoogle search page now full of unwanted stuff other than search bar?
Yesterday, my Google page was blank (except small decoration) and contained just the search bar. Today, it's full of stuff I don't want, and certainly don't want my child to see or access e.g. YouTube, horoscopes, other rubbish. How do I get rid of this? I didn't put it there!
1 AnswerGoogle1 decade agoRe my 10-month old 7mm tear in supraspinatus what are my options? Would physiotherapy help?
I've been told different things by different doctors: surgery, don't have surgery, it won't mend, it won't sew itself together but the raw edges will heal and thus the pain lessen. Now looking on internet I see rehabilitation, and physiotherapy mentioned! Don't want the surgery as injury's now 10 mths old so no guarantees of success. I've had the max, 4, injections (?cortisone), the pain's returned but becoming bearable; doctor says it usually goes after a year, so only 2 mths to go! But I cannot use my left arm at all, so feeling one-armed, disabled. Any info pls?
