Funny feeling from drinking alcohol for the first time?
A few months ago at my sisters house after her wedding, I tried some alcohol for the first time. She mixed it, I believe it was...mountain dew with crown royal apple. After only 1 sip, and only 3 seconds later, my head felt like it expanded on all sides, like it bloated. Is this is a normal reaction to my first alcoholic drink? I'm 24 by the way, not a teen.
4 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits4 years agoWhat kind of economical system is this?
Hypothetical scenario: A group of farmers, clothes makers, and electricity producers. All 3 groups work for free. In exchange for working for free, they in moderation, get free clothes, free electricity, and free food from each other.
Is there a name of such an economy? This would obviously extend to all kinds of producers and manufacturers.
3 AnswersEconomics5 years agoContact lenses and sources of eye irritants?
I wish to get contact lenses because...anything more than 1ft away becomes a blur, quite near sighted, I don't care to have glasses squeezing the life outta my head and nose.
Dry eyes...could this affect how contact lenses feel on my eye balls? I don't have naturally dry eyes, they get dry from low humidity in breezy/windy moments, which in Florida is uncommon thankfully.
I have no problem touching my eye balls, I tried to just to see how bad it was, about 30 minutes ago, though my eyes tried naturally to close due to the proximity of my fingers, had to use my fingers as the 'jaws of life' lol.
So...can dry eyes affect contact lenses?
2 AnswersOptical6 years agoSide effect of Stevia?
I've had 2 curious encounters after consuming Stevia.
The first time, I used 1 pack. I put 1 pack of Stevia into some lemonade I made, and my body reacted oddly, i felt kind of fuzzy...hard to explain.
A few months later forgetting the whole lemonade reaction. I this time put 4 packs of Stevia into some coffee I made. This time after a while, both my hands felt tingly. Similar to what happens when you lay or sit on your hand or foot for an hour or more. It wasn't numb though, just tingly.
I know I have no issues with lemonade or coffee itself as I've always had them, I've only reacted TO them though then substituting plain sugar with Stevia.
This is the first time in my life I've been affected in a strange manner by a plant. I have no allergies, I don't even react to poison ivy or oak when it touches my skin.
Is this tingly feeling ever heard of with Stevia?
3 AnswersAllergies6 years agoWould extremely religious people be against the co-existence of E.T.s on earth living with humans?
I'm aware of a part of human psychology where, humans fear and possibly try to eliminate things they they don't understand or don't WANT to understand. Would very religious people have issues with E.T.s living side by side peacefully on earth with us?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoWhat were the Victorians views on pale skin?
I know they tried to stay as pale as possible, as MUCH as possible. What were their views on pale skin to keeping themselves pale?
I'm curious about this because I'm a very very pale person myself, like a Victorian era female, even though I'm male. I love my pale skin, I don't really wanna tan of course...

5 AnswersQuotations6 years agoWhich do you think should come first...humans, or gods?
Ensuring that all humans are treated well, have access to basic needs such as water, shelter, food, and clothing...or ensuring that any of the gods that, humans seem to worship, are pleased first by any means, despite the current state of humanity?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoWhy didn't our ancestors have the common sense to cast aside any 'deadly' gods?
They seemed to have kept worshiping, and kept believing in, gods which seemed to have harmed and even killed humans, or were at least, in general, ''evil''. Why didn't they have the common sense to get rid of these gods and focus only on the ones with positivity and good morality?
Was it perhaps because they related to these 'gods of death' because humans in general are naturally violent and thrive on violence most of the time?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoWhy has nature not allowed us to see colors into the infrared and ultraviolet light spectrum?
I know nature only gives entities the ability to see things that seem to be ''good enough'' for them. But is that the only reason?
1 AnswerPhysics6 years agoWhy does the Greek alphabet use 3 vowels for the same sound (i)?
iota, upsilon, and eta...these 3 vowels in Modern Greek are all pronounced as ''i'' (ee in feet), why is this? I saw information saying that Ancient Greek had 'more variety of vowels', so why did Modern Greek not drop 2 of the 3 'i' vowels? Same with omicron and omega?
2 AnswersLanguages6 years agoDo you think there is a cultural and religious bias towards the term 'demon'?
What I mean is, in the Western world, and any other part of the world with western influence, the word 'demon' is a noun denoting 'evil spirits/ghosts'. But I don't see how it is appropriate by those who believe in ghosts and spirits, to use this term as it is a christian concept. We have the Jewish Satan of which Satan means 'adversary', NOT an evil thing. In Islam we have Jinn...''allah created 3 types of sentient beings also with free will, angels out of light, humans out of earth, and jinn out of smokeless fire''. Jinn, like humans, can good, evil, or neutral, but seem more powerful than humans in the sense of what Christians cal ''being possessed''. But I've never seen ghost and spirit believers use the word Satan OR Jinn when describing an ''evil ghost/spirit''.
Thoughts? Do you think it's a cultural and religious bias?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoAre there any kinds of chemicals that 'attract' each other like an N and S magnet do?
I'm afraid I have no education in chemistry, so... Do any chemicals pull at each other like magnets do?
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoA question for people of European ancestry that are naturally pale skinned?
Do you like that you're naturally pale, or do you attempt and/or desire to have tanner skin, or perhaps even lighter skin?
I'm naturally pale myself due to my Irish ancestry (minus the freckles), I quite like my pale skin, looks quite nice aesthetically, and I'd look odd with a tan to be honest lol.
4 AnswersPolls & Surveys6 years agoDoes it seem that gods and demons are the anthropomorphized forms of human emotions?
Gods, representing the good in humans, the positive traits and emotions that humans naturally have that humans wish to attain.
Demons, representing the bad traits and emotions in humans, the taste for blood, violence, aggression, hate, bigotry, fear, desire for war, etc...of which these traits are what humans wish to lose.
Putting these 2 anthropomorphisms in a ''constant duel'' while 'meditating' that the ''gods'' will win each fight. Do you think this seems to be what religion is about? The fight between the good and bad that naturally occur in humans?
