  • Hypothetically speaking...?

If a masochist's greatest love would be to inflict pain onto himself, and he always gets joy from it, would he end up in Heaven or Hell when he dies, what would be waiting for him there, and why?

  • If Jesus is the one and only way to salvation...?

Doesn't that mean that, theoretically and according to the bible, people such as Adam, Eve, Abraham, Moses (I'm not too sure if he came before or after Jesus) and Noah would have gone to hell?

Despite Noah being the only one who god decided to come to to save the human race because he was the only one close enough to god? Saving god's beloved creatures wasn't enough to get him into heaven?

  • What would god recognize as acceptance of his son?

What is actually considered true acceptance of Jesus?

Does it only require that you have accepted him in your heart, or do you have to be baptized, or whatever? Do you have to go to church regularly, or at least once, or is that not even relevant?

  • "Female mice turned lesbian after altering gene."?

    http://www.zmescience.com/medicine/genetic/gay-gen...

Ignoring the possibility that this could be fictitious,

AND Assuming that humans would exhibit the same effect,

    In Christian circles,

Would there be any change as to your opinion of homosexuality (i.e. whether it is a sin or not, whether it is natural or not, whatever?)

  • God gives free will... you're taking it away?

Christians have stated before that God has "given us free will". Now i'm not sure about the rest of you guys, but look at Christians (some of them):

    Prejudiced against gays,

Prop 8 in the US (I'm not a US citizen BTW)

Trying to stop cloning because "god didn't want it"

Conversion of people by force? I mean, some (not all) of you are practically stuffing your beliefs down our throats.

So... god gave us free will, and you're trying to take it away?

(And I may be wrong here, but why are some people even trying to force Prop 8 into existence when time could be so much better spent on helping the needy than peering into people's bedrooms?)

And on something else somewhat related:

    God gave us free will.

To the group who insists this is why he doesn't show himself:

Why can't he show himself then? Showing himself does not take away our free will. Sure, even if we have proof that he's around, not everyone will believe in him. There are still people who believe that the earth is flat, for example, or that the sun revolves around the earth. I'd be really weird or stupid if I didn't, but there it is, free will.

  • Atheists: Question about Heaven?

This question is directed to mainly atheists... and I'm wondering if any of you feel like I do. (I'm an atheist as well, if you didn't get me.)

If there was a Heaven, would you actually convert to Christianity? (Please, no "Heaven/god doesn't exist", this is a hypothetical question). And if you're a Christian, please don't tell me "god loves you, accept Jesus" and leave it at that. I want something... more, like for example why we should be.

Because from the way I see it, either god:

    1) Accepts all those who worship him and sends everyone else to hell

    2) Accepts people into heaven based on what they've done in their lives.

If it's 1, I don't think I would actually want to get to heaven. I feel that an Atheist who strives in their life doing good to make the world a better place deserves a place in heaven far more than say a murderer, rapist, pedophile, criminal, liar, etc, who out of repentance/guilt/fear embraces Christianity no matter how truly they embrace Christ and because it is impossible to lose salvation (1 John 5:13)... would heaven be a place you want to go to, if that's the case? Not to mention that god has serious anger management issues sometimes - just look at the people he himself has killed (despite professing to love all of them). For example, killing 42 people, CHILDREN at that, for laughing at a man's bald head.

If it's 2, then is there actually a need to believe and be a Christian? Many of us are capable of living our lives to the fullest, and even if we are not perfect, we are able to live well.

Would there actually be any need to be a Christian, IF there was a heaven?

  • Weird Sleeping Habits...?

Two years ago, I used to be able to go through one whole day with about 6 hours of sleep, and almost not feel the effects at all. School on 6 hours (usually slightly less) of sleep during school days, 7.5-8 hours max during weekends.

Now, I sleep maybe 8-10 hours a day (without school), and in the middle of the afternoon I also feel tired and feel like sleeping.

I don't believe it's dietary because I haven't made a change to my diet, I love eating greens (I'm not vegetarian, though).

I'm in a sports curricular activity in my secondary school (same CCA all 4 years), and I'm 16 this year.

  • Can you guess what was going on?

    1) There was an ongoing battle all around. However, why did the battle end when two people from opposing factions engaged in the simple activity of sex?

    2) (I got this from somewhere. It's one of my favourites)

A woman had absolute proof that her sister had murdered her husband. The penalty for murder was death, and the woman's sister was convicted. However, the woman's sister could not be executed. Why?

    3) In a location where polygamy is illegal, a man marries TWENTY women. Why can't he be charged with polygamy?

    4) Another one of my favourites.

A man is able to visit over 20 countries in a single day, even without a passport. When he leaves, it is because he wants to. Why?

    5) There are two people in a car. 30 minutes later, there are four people in the car. However, during this time, the car doors were all locked, the windows were all wound up. No one had left or entered the car at all, and no one is in the car who wasn't already there. What just happened?

  • Weird feeling in chest region?

This few weeks, I keep feeling something in my chest (the area on the right), it's like a fast vibration (or fluttering, I'm not sure what I should call it), and not like a heartbeat or pulse.

It's not present most of the time, and it isn't pain when it it's there, and it goes away after a short while (within 3-5 minutes). I'm not sure what it is.

I'm still a few years off 20, by the way...

  • Big Bang or Creationism?

We all know there has been, and there is, the debate on which one is correct. Personally i'm more inclined to believe in the Big Bang, but when you get down to it, they're both just theories (BB just sounds more correct to me). Which one do you people out there think is right, and why?

  • Old joke but classic one?

This is one I heard quite a long time ago

Ther was this Panda who walked into a restaurant. He ordered some food and started to EAT.

After he finished he tried to leave without paying, so the cashier yelled at him to pay up. At this, the Panda takes out a gun form somewhere and SHOOTS the cashier in the head.

The manager runs out from the back of the store and screams, "What do you think you're doing?! How can you do this?!" The panda replies, "Oh yes I can. Look up "panda" in the dictionary." After saying that, he LEAVES.

The manager decides to follow the panda's advice and looks in the dictionary. What he sees is:

    Panda:

    An Animal.

    EATS...

    ... SHOOTS...

    ... AND LEAVES.

  • Synchronized Trampoline?

I've been searching online for Guidelines or Required moves in routines for Boy/Men's Synchronized Trampoline events in competitons like the Youth Olympic Games.

I haven't managed to find many guidelines, and when I do they aren't for things like the Youth Olympics. Could someone post a link to one, or have the rules and regulations for the YoG Synchronized Trampoline events not been decided on yet, or have they just not found their way onto the internet?
