Do you believe in death? If so, why?
All of us should believe in life, since we are experiencing it at the moment. But simply because I watch others die, can I assume that I will as well? Can I ever assume that death exists until I experience it?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do many people feel as though women have contributed nothing over the past 500+ years?
I suppose this stems from the patriarchal view that machines are more important than relationships. But women have definitely been contributing their half of work--producing humans. It is a full-time job to raise a child from infancy into an adult, and not one to be slighted either. I do find it interesting that during the mid-life crisis men usually want a more active role in their family, and women have an interest in work beyond the household.
20 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoIs an immoral person simply another individual who's values oppose yours?
Female rape for instance. Some have no problem with it. Others do. Who's right and who's wrong? Or are both belief systems justified?
15 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoWill an androgynous race supersede the human race in the near future?
Society has been revolutionizing itself in many ways. The gap is narrowing between male and female sex differences. Female waistlines are also broader now than in previous decades, and if this is biological and not due to the advent of corsets, this signifies that females are now producing more testosterone than in the past.
10 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoAre those who are "politically correct" limiting themselves?
For example, feminists are pressuring young women to pursue math and science careers. The issue with this ideology is that the majority of women have empathetic brains, and have a prowess in social skills as opposed to mechanical skills.
A people expressing the mindset that we are not hardwired much like our nonhuman counterparts would not be able to accept controversial scientific observations. But I do appreciate the feminist movement for giving women who have semantic brains, or a fusion of the two, an opportunity to pursue a career as opposed to mandatory child care.
But we need to accept that everyone has a niche. I can practice the piano all day, but if I lack talent and natural ability, I will never be the best. Rather then pressuring all women to pursue predominately male arenas, each individual woman should do what she does best. Which is most likely in the realm of child care.
10 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoWhen was your most recent participation in a feminist program?
Many users on here enjoy discussing feminism and it effects on the world. I'm curious as to your political activity beyond Yahoo Answers.
8 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoWhat do you think of the phrase "in today's world"?
Now that I have taken interest in the Mayan calendar, this phrase appears to imply another meaning. I've noticed that many phrases in human languages have a subtle connotation that can only be evinced when you are focused.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWho else equates patriotism with severe brainwashing?
I’m not an American, I just live here. I don’t belong to any country. But I do belong to this Earth. I feel as though I’ve had all my independence stripped away from me simply due to the jurisdiction of the American army, police men, and credit companies that endlessly seek to establish authority over my self.
What has this country ever done for me that I could not have done for myself? Did I choose to be a member of this institution? Of course not. Since birth I’ve been mentally enslaved to this government and its artificial motives. It’s a shame I can’t quite afford a trip to South America. I could care less for material possessions when my freedom and personal sanity are at stake.
And I don’t burn flags or the Constitution with conviction. To me the government is simply an extravagant illusion. It will only exist for as long as its people negate their ultimate responsibility for his or her self to a higher authority. Much like religion.
13 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoChristians, if given the option, would you make Bible study mandatory in public schools?
Suppose the US would allow the masses to vote on legislation that would not only make Bible education legal, but mandatory as well for all American students. Would you support such an idea?
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you treat everyday as an Earth Day?
In your spiritual beliefs (if you have any), do you have a deep reverence for this hospitable planet? How do you feel about our planet?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre you disgusted by a man with shaved legs? Or a woman with hairy legs?
If so, why do you feel that a woman shaving her legs is natural/mandatory, and yet when a male does so it is a source of disgust? Do you personally believe your views are the effect of societal conditioning or nature?
27 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoAnti-Abortionists, when was the last time you adopted a child that needs a home?
How many children have you adopted? When was the last time you donated money or provided aid for this institution? Do you want to actively participate in improving these children’s condition, or do you simply want to leave the job to someone else and forget all about these children?
Supposedly, these children should have the right to most likely be adopted by abusive people, and then contribute to the increasing crime rate when they join gangs to feel wanted.
What have you ever done to prevent this from happening?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow many people are actually laughing when they type "lol" or "lmao"?
Am I the only person who finds "emoticons" to be extremely annoying? I am unsure why they bother me so much, possibly because many people use them excessively and only because they find other users doing the same...
6 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHow many Christians have a deep understanding of the King James Bible?
Half the students in my college classes can't even comprehend the Bible (I'm attending Princeton, too). Though, there is a Catholic in my class who has a very profound understanding of the book. So it only begs the question whether or not the average Christian even understands what he or she is reading.
Do you?
Or do you need your pastor to explain everything for you?
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs anyone affluent in the "indigo phenomenon"?
I have been hearing this term used by many holding New Age Spiritual beliefs. The Indigos are “special” children who have the gift of psychic sense, intuition, and are unusually bright. Most have recollections of past lives and hold deep spiritual truths. Do you have a child you feel meets this criterion?

13 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoChristians, what is the name of your Deity?
YHWH is from the Torah. Is God's name directly mentioned in the Bible? I only hear him referred to as "God" or "the Lord." Isn't it kind of arrogant for Christianity to name its deity "God" as if it were superior to all other religions?
Isn't naming a Deity odd in it's own sense? Names were created by humans. Unless, you're willing to ponder if God might have been created by humans, too...
