    L-15P to L6-20R Adapter?

I have a 20 amp circuit with a standard 5-15R receptacle.  I'm hoping to run one appliance that draws up to 20 amps.  However, this appliance includes a L6-20 plug.  Is it safe/viable to use the pictured adaptor?  Assume nothing else will be on this circuit.  Thanks.

    Revive Lilac?

I think I overwatered this lilac.  The leaves turned yellow, then fell off.  Is there any reviving it?  We're heading into winter in the Chicago area.  Put in a pot and bring in the house maybe?

  • Sump Pump Switch?

Sump pump routinely gets stuck in the "on" position.  The float is NOT caught on anything.  I'll pull it out, and manually push up/down, still with no luck.  Then I disassemble the switch, disconnect all the wires, test the switch with a multi-meter and it shows the switch works correctly?!  Then upon reassembly/installation it continues to work correctly.  It seems dissembling is resting it or something.  Is there a more sustainable way to fix this where I'm not disassembling every time?

  • Rip deck beam to size?

Will I compromise my 2x10" deck beam if I rip 1/4" off? This is a triple-wide beam and one of the 2x10 s happens to be 1/4" wider than the rest. Thanks!

  • L14-30 Receptacle?

    Hi,

    I want to change a 3 prong receptacle (2 hots, 1 neutral) to an L14-30 receptacle (2 hots, 1 neutral, 1 ground). This is a 30amp 240v circuit.

The box currently has no ground wire coming into it. Am I correct in assuming I can just add and attach a ground wire to the metal box and insert into the appropriate terminal in my new L14-30? Thank you!

  • Refrigerator Troubleshooting?

Hi. Fridge is not cooling. Compressor is running very hot. The condenser fan is working fine. The coils themselves are room temp which leads me to believe refrigerant isn't even making it to them? Any other ideas? Thanks!

  • Digging deck footers close to utilities?

Hi. DIY'r here. Just had utilities marked out by 811 and unfortunately there's an electrical line running diagonally through my planned deck area. I can get away with digging footings within the standard 18" tolerance zone, but my question is this... is 18" still too close for comfort? How close will you guys typically go? I'll be hand digging... what are the odds I break through the conduit or whatever protects the line if I hit it? Thanks!

  • Partnership options?

I'm in a 50/50 partnership. Our company is profitable, pays the bills, and is making good progress on paying down it's debt. I work full-time on this company, but it's barely minimum wage and I could make far more at a 9-5. I believe with a cash injection we could be extremely successful and I would become re-engaged again. I have people asking (unsolicited) if they can invest , but my partner refuses to allow the company to take on more debt or sell any equity. I'm stuck and have to get out if my partner won't allow for any growth. The problem is, I've signed personal garauntees on the leases (some go for another 9 years) as well as personal guarantees for around 300k in debt. Do I grind it out for 10 years until the company pays off the debt and I can make a modest living, or pull off the bandaid and walk-away for a "real job"? Other options? Thanks.

  • Partnership Agreement?

I'm in a 50/50 partnership. I'm the class A stock holder and manager. Our agreement says "class A members will not be required to execute any lease guarantee, loan guarantee, or other surety on behalf of the company". Well, I've signed a number of guarantees not realizing this. My question is this... if I withdraw from the company, will I be held liable for these guarantees I signed, or will the wording in the partnership agreement over-rule? Thanks.

  • Yogurt/Cheese Making?

Hi. I m brainstorming some things we could do with the left-over waste milk at our cafe after it gets steamed. There s always a small bit of waste, even if measured and steamed correctly. After steaming to 155F, would it be viable to chill it again, then initiate the yogurt or

cheese process once we ve accumulated/chilled enough? (i.e. heat, cool, add culture/rennet, etc...). Thank you!

    Nitrogen Infuser?

Ever seen anything like this in the kegerator/beer world? It's about a 12" cylinder. There's two inlets: one for liquid coming from a keg, the other for nitrogen from a tank. Then an outlet goes to a stout faucet. It basically nitrogenates the beverage. It says "nitrogenator infusor" on it, but google gives me no results.

    New floor over carpet glue?

I pulled up some old carpet in a warehouse office I'm rehabbing, and there's an incredibly thick layer of old carpet adhesive. Anyone ever use a self leveling cement over this adhesive? Removing the adhesive seems next to impossible.

  • Quit Claim Deed?

So I'm a partner a few businesses. These businesses each have a lease with me as the personal guarantee. My wife and I also own a home (she's not part of the business'). If I transfer the deed to my wife, and my businesses fail, am I correct in assuming they wouldn't be able to come after our home? Thanks!

  • Nitrogenating Iced Coffee?

Hello, I'm currently kegging my cold-brew iced coffee, purging out the oxygen, and pressurizing it with 40psi of nitro. I then shake the keg for around a minute. This produces a nice creamy beverage with a "Guiness-like" head on it. My question is this... Can I keep the keg unrefrigerated and run my line through a plate chiller without my beverage going flat while it sits? Would like some opinions before I invest $200. Thanks!

  • Wood for Outdoor Furniture?

I'll be building some barriers for an outdoor cafe. What would be the most appropriate wood to use that will stand up to the elements while being affordable? Can I get away with a lesser quality wood if I put some type of protective coating on it? They will only be outside for the summer, but will be subject to rain. Thanks!

  • Drop Shipping Question for Small Business?

I own a business... another business wants to pay me up front for products and shipping. I will physically fulfill, and ship the order to Puerto Rico. What is my level of liability? For some reason the situation seems sketchy, as it's a rather large sale, which I am happy to take, just don't want it to blow up in my face! Thanks!

    5 Pin Electrical Adapter?

I'm trying to hook up a 115v appliance to an outlet. It did not include a chord, but just needs what looks like a 5 pin adapter type thing. Has anyone seen this, or know what it is? Thanks!
