Computer Science Sort Complexity Question?
Hi all
I'm wondering what the complexity (runtime) in big O notation would be for this sorting algorithm: (ex. best case, average case, worst case)
The algorithm simply randomizes the entire list/array (scatters the order of elements randomly), and if the entire list/array is not in order, it randomizes it again. Obviously beyond a max size of a few items this would be almost useless. I am aware that there are tons of other sorts out there like quick sort or merge sort, but I was just wondering.
Thanks!

2 AnswersXbox7 years agoTraditional Career Path for Frat Bros?
Where do most frat bros end up after graduating? Obviously the ivy league frat bros on the varsity rowing and lacrosse teams have promising careers because they're at ivy league colleges, but what about the average GPA guys at average colleges?
It seems most frat bros are studying arts/humanities, sciences or finance, but I was just curious what sort of careers they end up in / how successful they generally are.
I'm not trying to knock frat bros, just curious.

1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks7 years agoWhere To Find Free/Public Equity Research (on TSX Stocks)?
As the title suggests, I'm looking for analyst reports on TSX stocks without having to resort to using resources (ex. Bloomberg machines, Capital IQ software, ThomsonOne software, etc.) which are less convenient, although I fear I will have to resort to using these. If you know of any reliable sources (ex. big 5 Canadian bank) that provides free or public equity research, please post them.

Hey, I have a .ca domain registered through GoDaddy and hosted by Wix. Other than the email services provided by GoDaddy and Wix, what others are low cost and ideal? It would be for about 5-20 emails that would look like xxxxx@mydomain.ca. The lower the cost the better.

If 10 people (who were extremely proficient in financial modeling, financial analysis etc.) were given the exact set of financial information and asked to create a DCF, is it likely to have 10 different DCFs? What would the differences be? If a portfolio manager was given two different DCFs for the same company over the same years, how might they judge which is more accurate?

1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance8 years agoMovie Set In The Arctic / Frozen Over World?
What recent (released in 2013) movie matches these points?
-The characters live in vaults underground (I think) and have to travel through the arctic to retrieve something very important
-The world is frozen over I think... if not then it is set in the arctic
-Genre seemed to be Action / Adventure (maybe a bit of a Thriller also??)
-It was released this year (I remember seeing a trailer for it earlier this year)
-(It's not the movie "Oblivion" with Tom Cruise)
I had a hunch that I saw Liam Neeson in the trailer... but I couldn't seem to find any Neeson movies thta matched what I'm thinking of.
I swear this movie exists and I'm not making this up!
Thanks so much

1 AnswerPC8 years agoMens Fashion: Buying Casual/Dress Collared Shirts?
I'm trying to revamp my clothing from t-shirts and hoodies to flannel collared shirts, dress shirts, polos & sweaters/cardigans. I know many places where I can find the dressier clothing, but for day-to-day wear (as a student), I'm not as familiar to where I should be looking without blowing a hole in my wallet.
I'm looking to pay ~25$ for each flannel / polo shirt, but I'm not sure where to look. Sizing would probably be an XL, not sure if some stores don't carry above a L. How are stores like Abercrombie? Hollister? American Eagle? Gap? Old Navy? Or smaller boutique-style stores?
Just looking for opinions and your personal preferences/experiences/recommendations :D
Thanks :)

In Hotmail, if I have the account on my Mac (Mail App) configured to POP, and all emails are available on hotmail.com as well, does that mean there is a copy being stored on hotmail.com? So if I delete my account in the Mail App I won't be deleting any messages?
I know that the answer is "if you stored a copy on the server (hotmail.com) you will be fine" but I'm not sure if just being able to access the emails on hotmail.com means it's stored there or if it's just accessing it remotely.
2 AnswersSoftware8 years agoExercising With 100% Pure Oxygen?
Would it be unsafe to exercise fairly rigorously right after breathing 100% pure oxygen? Like to the point where your body is able to perform at a higher level for a time period, rather than performing at the same level with less effort.
While my friend was in South Korea, he had the opportunity to breathe 100% pure oxygen for a long period of time and exercise after. He said he didn't run out of breath despite sprinting for an insane distance. I know NFL players and other athletes also breathe oxygen sometimes...
Let's say you run 5k in 30 minutes and it burns 400 calories normally. And then on a different day you breathe concentrated oxygen and then run 8k in 30 minutes and burn ~520 calories. Would that be healthy or dangerous?
So long story short... Is it safe to exercise (fairly rigorously) after breathing concentrated oxygen? Is there a reason why not many people do this?
Thanks so much :)

I have a RB heavy team,
Right now its:
RB1: Michael Turner
RB2: Willis McGahee
FLEX: Peyton Hillis
Bench:
Mark Ingram
Michael Bush
I'm thinking I should maybe put in one of my benches for Hillis. Any ideas? Also McGahee has a tough week ahead of him against Steelers D, but I'm not sure if my Bench RBs can outscore him though.
Any ideas?
1 AnswerFantasy Sports9 years agoHelp me with Mac Time Machine?
My 1TB hard drive is full with my time machine backups, and as I change my files and back up again, it deletes the oldest one (or whatever the normal preset is)
I now need access to like 250GB of the hard drive now to backup another Mac, but the external hard drive is already full and I don't want to manually delete the folders because I feel I shouldn't (I might mess something up). The Mac I'm currently backing up has a 500GB internal hard drive that's almost full (with all 500GB backed up to the external 1TB hard drive) so if I do this correctly I should have a lot of room to work with. The reason the 1 Mac is taking up the whole 1TB external drive is because over the past year or two I've been adding and deleting files but it backs up all of them.
I also want to keep an extra 100GB of recently backed up data, whether that's a month or two months or whatever it may be. (I still want a little access to last week's backups/last month's backups)
So the question is how do I go about reducing the size of my Time Machine backup without deleting ALL of it?
Thanks

2 AnswersFootball (American)9 years agoRunning (Pacing Myself) Question?
I always went everynight on my elliptical to stay in shape, but I'm looking to actually run now. I'm doing a 5k run in about a month or a month and a half, and I'm trying to learn how to pace myself. I'm overweight, and somewhat out of shape. I'm about 6'0" weigh about 230, squat 135 about 10-12 reps and bench 50 pound dumbbells 10-12 reps.
So I'm not sure how many steps per minute I should be taking for a 5k. I run around the block, and I've determined that I currently run at about 160-200 steps per minute (calculated by running to the beat of the music with songs at 160-200. But since I can only run at this speed for 5 minutes tops, I need to obviously learn how to pace myself. But when I run slower like at 140 steps per minute, I feel like I want to go faster, and I can pretty easily walk at that speed.
Assuming I want to run the 5k in about 25 minutes, how many strides per minute should I be running at?
By my math I need to run at 12kmph to do that, and when I run around the block I'm running at about 17.
So if you didn't want to read all that: How do I learn to pace myself?

17 AnswersHockey9 years agoRunning/Sprinting Question?
In the past few months, I have transitioned from running outside to running on an elliptical I bought. I use it everyday on around 75% resistance.
I tried running outside again yesterday, and felt I was very off balance. Compared to what I run on the elliptical everyday, I am used to putting more weight forward now, as if I am running up a hill. So when I sprint on a flat surface now I am much slower than I was a few months ago due to my extremely off balance nature. I feel like I would sprint faster on maybe a 5-10% incline than flat at this point!!! And by the way my jogging is relatively the same.
Any help on how to train myself to "rebalance" my sprinting while still going on the elliptical regularly?
Thanks
3 AnswersRunning9 years agoMy Guinea Pig Needs Urgent Care!?
My guinea pig (age 3.5) has stopped moving. His heart is still beating (you can see it and feel it) and he is somewhat unresponsive. He has gone without water, but only for about 4-8 hours maximum. Even when I place the water bottle by his face or gently touch it to him he doesn't drink it. He also loves carrots and when I put carrots in front of him he doesn't eat it. I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow. My house is around 25 C which is 77 F, and he isn't usually like this.
He has been fine and moving properly and well up to a few hours ago, when I noticed his water was empty and he is somewhat unresponsive. What should I do?!
Thanks for your help
