  • How should I balance enemy NPCs in a d20 Modern game?

I am planning on running Exodus (Fallout d20) for a party of unknown size, but neither the core rulebook or the bestiary have any examples of low-level human enemies.

I obviously don't want the party to just be fighting lizards for the whole campaign, and would like for something to shoot back at them eventually.

Assuming typical stat growth, when should the party start encountering humanoid enemies armed with handguns?

I will include a sample creature with a CR of 2 in the replies, for reference.

Where would Shady Sands/New California Republic be if it existed?

Based on this map of Fallout locations, it seems to fall somewhere within Death Valley, which would explain the "Sands" but not the "Shady". Would someone with regional knowledge of California/Nevada be able to tell me what highways pass through this area?

  • Is a cornered fox really more dangerous than a jackal?

In Metal Gear Solid, Grey Fox claims that he is more dangerous than the jackal-hunting Liquid Snake believes, as "a cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal".

What I want to know is, is this literally true? Do foxes pose more of a threat to hunters than jackals, or is that line a taunt and nothing more.

Is the world better off without Snakes?

In the words of Big Boss, the world would be better off without snakes. Given what we know of a post-snake world, are things any better?

  • In what way is the ending of Bioshock: Burial at Sea 2 satisfying?

I've been steaming mad over the ending since I finished it a few days ago, and I want to know if I'm missing part of it or if it really does suck.

Here is how I interpreted it, so obvious spoilers below. Elizabeth dies delivering the phrase "Would You Kindly" to Fontaine, which allows Jack to take down Rapture's leadership and save the Little Sisters. In doing so, the last Elizabeth in the multiverse dies, as does Booker's ghost/memory.

The reason this stings me is that this means all of Bioshock: Infinite and its spinoffs was just setup to get Jack into Rapture, which seemed like something that could have happened without including Elizabeth at all. I did no appreciate how everything Booker and Elizabeth did to fix the multiverse was just so one guy could save a couple children in one universe.

Also, a second point: how does Columbia even exist? It was established at the end of the main game that every Comstock-type Booker never existed, i.e. Columbia never gets built, so how is the city still there? I understand why the writes included it (to make Daisy into a more sympathetic character), but that seems moot since she has no reason to exist anymore.

  • Why did Ocelot betray Solidus in Metal Gear Solid 2, given what we know from Metal Gear Solid 4?

In MGS2, Dead Cell was set up to take down the Patriots, and had successfully disarmed Raiden before he could kill Solidus Snake. Given their plan was in its final stages, it would have probably worked out if it weren't for Ocelot announcing his loyalty to the Patriots and hijacking Metal Gear RAY for them.

Then, in MGS4, it turns out that Ocelot was working to take down the Patriots as well. This suggests he was just pretending to work for them to get access to their inner circle, but why would he need to if Solidus was going to destroy them anyway?

  • Did Naked Snake ever kill anybody before Operation Snake Eater?

When fighting The Sorrow, he tells Snake that he will experience the suffering of every person he's killed. If the player goes through the game without killing anybody, the only ghosts he faces are those of Cobra Unit, who self-destructed.

Does this mean that, prior to The Boss's betrayal, Snake was a pacifist?

Who is the moral victor in Fallout: New Vegas?

Between the New California Republic, Caesar's Legion, Mr. House and the Courier, who is best fit to run New Vegas and the Mojave Wasteland?

In this case, let "best fit" mean "best able to run the Mojave in an ideal way that promotes the interests of humanity".

If you don't have a fully formed answers, feel free to just throw out a suggestion, but copy/pasted answers won't get any points.

  • Is there any meaningful post-game to Pokemon X?

So far all I've seen is a shoddy, slow-paced Battle Maison, the even more boring Battle Chateau, and a handful of legendaries I don't particularly care about. Is there anything at all to do after beating the champion, or should I wait for a later installment to import my older Pokemon?

  • What are some good multiplayer Nintendo games?

I have every console between the Game Cube and the Wii U, and can emulate those that came earlier. I am willing to pay up to forty dollars for a game, and am reasonably skilled at shopping online.

    Common suggestions that don't work:

Smash Bros., Mario Party, Monkey Ball, Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros (already owned)

Kirby's Return to Dreamland (still selling for $70 online)

Fortune Street, Punch Out!! (being shipped)

  • How do I get infinite items in The Binding of Isaac without absurd luck?

I want a way to consistently get the correct setup to empty the item pool and crash the game, but I never get the right setup. I have the D6 unlocked and have downloaded Wrath of the Lamb.

What sort of steps should I take in the early game to ensure I get a game-breaking setup? What items are worth taking, and at what point should I reset the game so as to not waste time?

  • How reliable is *67 on cell phones?

I need to make some calls to people I would rather not speak to anymore. I don't want them to backtrace my number, because if they get in contact with me again, the consequences will never be the same.

To what extent is *67 anonymous, and how will it display on the recipient's phone?

  • How do I find the mass in this equation?

A 12.1 N force causes and object to accelerate at 10.3 m/s^2. Gravity is at 9.8 m/s^2. Assume no friction.

Despite my year in physics, I can still not solve this equation.

  • [Pokemon Black 2] How much is a Keldeo worth?

I'm trying to trade for one, but I don't know what a reasonable barter is. Since everyone and their brother has one after the last event, would a regular player be able to trade up for one?
