  • how do you get your employer to stop harassing you?

he bought out his ex-wife who was his partner but he felt didn't want to "obey" him. He hired me to not only take her place for the grunt work, but also to treat just like he treated her. I confronted him once about the way he spoke to me in a condescending manner and he stopped for a short while. Now it is happening again. This time he has decided to use stuff against me pertaining to the job and he has never had these issues before until now(coming up on a year with this imbecile).

  • Has anyone heard of Insurance Noodle and had success using them as brokers?

I searched online and found some pros and cons, but the cons stick out--they don't get you a quote fast enough. No good for business.

  • What is your take on opening up a start-up business in this slump economy?

Despite the negativity in the media, my goals started last year with my plans and I have been working on those plans. I disregard the slump because I'm not seeking a loan, and I'm starting on a parttime basis out of my house. I work full time and have lots of mental energy; although there are times I almost want to give in.

  • Can someone at Yahoo send those articles on the front page to emails in particular?

In other words, the one this morning about "12 Things We'd Tell Our Bosses if We Could", I want it sent to my unruly boss; how can it be done without me sending it? He is a huge stressor for all of us because he boozes the day before and explodes when he feels like it.

Am looking for another job at this point.

  • Parents who shield: are they hiding their ignorance?

Just found out this weekend that my sister in law has been shielding her sons disabilities although I have known most of them all along. I've worked in the field of disabilities and because her and her mother are those types to hide or sweep things under the rug so they won't have to deal with them head-on is the most disturbing and aggravating feeling for me. What right does a parent have to hide a child suffering inside just because they feel locked-in and hope that it will be brushed off somewhere else? This mother took her kid out of public school and placed him in a non-accredited "day care" for a whole school year while he missed the whole 1st grade. She became frightened when the public school teachers couldn't handle her son, (who has ADD) and asked her to place him on meds. Instead of meeting her fears head on, she scooped him from the public school system and placed him somewhere that would push him far from the services he is entitled to. My mother in law provides the excuses of her daughter that she basically, "has no balls" to face the public system and demand services other than just drugs. I tell her how hard she needs to get and she looks at me like I just told her to re-invent herself. And basically, yes, she needs to do just that.

  • Does anyone have problems with bosses coming into work the next day as a dry drunk and blows up at everybody?

Mine drinks the night away the evening before and then comes into work the next day ready to unleash on me or anyone. He works hard at being the perfect image and I suppose he doesn't know that I was told he drinks heavily especially on certain days. Why do we as employees need to put up with this? I am looking for another job(as soon as the times get better) because of this rotten behavior.

  • I started a webstore and can I get your opinion?

I drill glass blocks and decorate them, but wondering if a customize-your-own is a good idea?

This section allows buyers to actually pick what they want on their block.

  • I am giving away my husband for Valentine's. Any takers?

He's no pick of the litter; and still refuses to be house trained. He doesn't understand women but will make full attempt to fall over himself to get any one of them to notice him in a crowd. In the medieval days, the king would have named him the village fool because he knows how to make someone laugh, but also disappoints them highly as well.

He is a cameleon and changes his spots at the drop of a hat. He thinks this is a great quality as he doesn't understand that its a negative one when you aren't loyal to the ones closest to you.

He loves the sound of the word "wife" and "marriage" but he doesn't care to be "involved". Stress is what he gives out frequently and thinks that this how to connect.

I have love once and tried to do it again, but this one has suffocated me in his addictive trek to nowhere. So, ladies, or even men this Valentine's Day, my heart goes out to you struggling with such non-sense that your partner is dishing out. For a romantic gesture, serve him a pile of whip cream. And do what the three stooges would do...slam it in his face.

  • Employers taking advantage of their employees?

Why is the law allowing employers to fire employees during the recession when they have created no illegal activity, or posing no negative issues? I can understand lay-offs, but I've seen lots of firing for the benefit of the employer so the employee cannot collect unemployment.

  • Insurance agent personalities: What is going on?

I've had 3 places of employment in insurance in the past 3 years and I don't regret leaving a single one. I've experienced some sad-sack agent owners and they all seem to have major legal scare problems. My question is why do they take it out on their employees when the legal problems never started there? And why are so many whacked out? This new employer I am with freaks out on ridiculous things, goes to the other room to calm down, and returns to boggle you for an explanation. He has admitted that his mother is crazy, and a brother of his has mental issues and he cannot understand that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. How do you deal with a crazed agent owner?

  • Texas Law: Why would an employer think that a former employee.....?

who signs off a waiver to receive a severance check ending employment, think (that because they have legal jargon in the paper work explaining that they are signing away their "rights" to specific agreements) that the former employee would believe they have no rights at all?

I have yet to hear any stances on the issues at hand. And please don't tell me to define the issues. If you do, you've been under a rock or in a foreign country for a while.
