Our cat won't stop moving her kittens around?
Our mama kitty lives in the chicken coop which is very secure. She had her kittens in a big deep box filled with straw in a quiet back corner. Now they are two weeks old and she keeps moving them to the nest boxes where the chickens lay their eggs! Not good because the kittens just fall right out of the nest box onto the floor!
Yesterday, I moved them all back to the box in the corner, and show Mama Kitty where they were and she went in to nurse them.
This morning....they were back in the nest box again, and one had fallen on the floor.
What to do?
7 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhat do you do when your child is waking up too early?
Our 3 young children usually sleep very well - all through the night from about 8:30 or 9:00 until 7:30.
But in the past week, our 5 year old daughter has been waking extremely early - at 4 or 5 in the morning. Sometimes we find her on the couch downstairs. Or worse, she wakes upstairs and then wakes her two brothers up so they are ALL awake at an ungodly hour. I tell them to go back to sleep which takes at least an hour, and then they are zombies when I come to rouse them at the usual time.
What could be causing the early waking? She's not sick and there's nothing new or stressful going on in our family.
7 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoDid the early Christians believe in "the Bible alone"?
or put another way: did Christians who lived in the centuries after the death of Christ believe that the Bible was their sole authority?
Please support your answer with historical facts - thanks
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat should we do if our baby/toddler seems to choke a lot?
He is 15 months old. We've noticed these things:
1. He still pushes against my wife when her milk lets down (seems like he should have adjusted to the flow by now) like it's too much
2. He has to swallow several times to get solid food down
3. He chokes when drinking from a regular glass or cup (with no lid)
4. Throughout the day, he presses his finger against his throat/adams apple like something is bothering him in that area.
He has seen an ENT (who did the scope) but nothing abnormal was found. What else could be causing all of these issues?
Yesterday he choked so bad he turned blue and stopped breathing. He finally coughed it out or swallowed whatever it was...but it was very scary!!
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoAny mothers have babies who were in the very low weight percentiles?
Our breastfed son is 15 months old - healthy and active. But he weighs 19 pounds. Our doctor said he should have hit 20 pounds at 12 months.....so he's way behind....in about the 2nd percentile or lower.
He eats three small meals a day and snacks. He nurses a little bit and also drinks milk from a sippy cup.
We're worried about his weight. Any mothers or fathers with a similar experience??

5 AnswersCats1 decade agoDo antibiotics given early improve the outcomes for whooping cough?
If an unvaccinated child with whooping cough is given antibiotics during the early or "Catarrhal Stage" of pertussis, will this lessen the severity and duration of the symptoms?
1 AnswerToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoFor those who follow the Bible alone and only believe something "because the Bible says so"?
The Bible, like the U.S. Constitution, is a written document subject to interpretation. In the case of the Constitution, judges and courts are necessary to interpret the meaning and their rulings are binding.
So when you say "the Bible says this or that" you're basically setting yourself up as "judge and jury" and granting yourself spiritual authority to interpret the word.
Ok, but where does the Bible say you have this authority? And do all other Christians have this same authority? And if so, why do we disagree on what the Bible says?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow soon after losing kittens can a female cat get pregnant again?
The kittens were 3 weeks old and disappeared overnight. We don't know what got them. The next day a male cat was already visiting the mother cat in the barn.
4 AnswersCats1 decade agoMy puppy acts like he's starving...am I feeding enough?
Our 3-month-old retriever gets 3 cups of food a day (split up between 3 meals). He acts like he's starving and gulps it down in like 30 seconds flat, no joke. Then he looks up for more. An hour or 2 later he still begs for food.
I was told by the breeder that male adult retrievers need about 4 cups a day. But ours is still a puppy. What should we do?
10 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat can I take for pain besides Tylenol and Advil?
Tylenol (acetometaphin) makes me feel nauseous so I've always taken Advil (iburofen) which works great.
But now I've found it's starting to give me nose bleeds, and now possibly an ulcer.
Any alternative pain killers I could try? I am dealing with minor back pain and tension headaches. Thanks.
7 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoAtheists, is there a better term to describe your philosophy?
The word atheism literally means "without God" which means those who hold this worldview are defined within those parameters.
Atheists, I am curious as to whether you think there is a better word that defines your worldview, a word that makes no mention of God. And if there is a better word, why is it not in common usage?
EXAMPLE - I do not believe "unicorns" exist yet I do not call myself an "aunicornist." It's not necessary to define myself in regards to a thing I do not believe exists.
Thanks for your thoughts!
29 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoThe number of people who died in Holocausts?
Whenever a debate about the number of Jews who died in the German holocaust makes the news, I am struck that no one seems to remember holocausts of a much greater scale that occured just before.
From 1894 to 1922 - the Turks martyred, massacred and starved over 3.5 million Christian Greeks, Armenians and Syrians.
And in the 1930's alone, between seven and twelve MILLION Ukrainian Christians were systematically and deliberately starved to death by the Communists.
It just seems so sad to me that Americans have largely forgotten these victims.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs it true that Attila the Hun was persuaded not to fight by the Pope?
I thought I had read that the Pope convinced Attila the Hun not to attack Rome in the 5th century. I just recently watched the movie "Attila" and there was no mention at all of anything like this.
1 AnswerHistory1 decade agoMy daugther makes funny hand movements when excited...is this normal?
She is aware that she is doing it and can be "stopped" immediately if we take hold of her hands, so it doesn't seem spastic or involuntary.

9 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat is your opinion about vaccinations for dogs?
Our pup is almost 8 weeks old, but we're very hesitant to get ALL the shots exactly as recommend and as often as recommended. I have several issues and would like to get your opinions:
1. Why must they get shots every year? Shouldn't the vaccines (like human ones) confer immunity for a longer period of time than that?
2. Why do they have to get them so young? Don't they still have some useful antibodies from their mother? Aren't their immune systems still developing?
3. Isn't it better to raise a healthy dog so that his own immune system will naturally respond to infection, rather than relying on shots for immunity?
16 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow did they decide which books would be included in the Holy Bible?
Ok, there were apparently many gospels and epistles circulating in the early centuries. Some were inspired, some were not and there were surely some debates about which was which.
So did God's Holy Spirit let the Catholic Church know which books were to be included in the Bible as we know it today?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians....I hate to spoil the Bible verse quoting party?
But surely we all understand that just quoting a Bible verse isn't an answer to a question? You do realize that people (being imperfect and subject to error) have different interpretations of the Bible and so you can paste a verse - but Christians can be all over the map as to what they think that verse means?
