  • how to make a poster on a Macbook?

I know I should have bought another PC - this Macbook is like living in a foreign country!

Anyway - I used to be able to make posters - like for sale signs - on my PC, no problem. I can't begin to figure out how to do it on this Macbook Pro. Anybody familiar with this?

  • Re: Chelsea's wedding - I think this is unfair?

Mostly because of who her parents are, Chelsea got a major amount of security, road closures, secret service, all sorts of stuff. I'm assuming that at least part of this was paid for by taxpayers.

I understand her desire to keep her wedding private. But come on - we paid for some of it. Shouldn't we be allowed to see more photos? Where are the bridesmaids, the cake? Why can't we know what music was used during the ceremony? I know she couldn't invite the entire country, but couldn't she at least share some of the details with the folks who paid so much?

  • this is a long shot, but I'll try it?

My husband has misplaced his glasses. We have looked all the obvious places. Is there anyone with psychic ability who might get a "feeling" where we should be looking for them?

  • how to change Google wallpaper?

A while ago Google offered me a way to change from a plain background to a picture when I went to the Google site.

I want to change the picture now and can't figure out how to do it. I have an Apple MacBook Pro laptop, if that makes a difference. Anybody know?

  • We bought an Apple MacBook Pro laptop to replace our PC?

I'm not much of a computer person, but I've learned quite a bit in the 6 months we've used the Apple.

Now, I have a question. When I'm on the internet and I type an address in the address bar, hit Enter, while it is processing I see the word "loading" on the right side of the address bar. Sometimes after it transmits, the word "loading" is replaced by the initials RSS.

What does that mean? Is it something to worry about, or something I need to do that I am not doing?

    I hope somebody knows - I sure don't.

  • Anybody familiar with shingles?

My husband has had shingles on his right leg for almost three weeks. The rash is almost healed, but the pain and the weakness in that leg are still going strong.

I understand that these symptoms can hang on for a long time, and this is nothing to be alarmed about. Yet.

What is scaring me, is that he is now getting weakness (not pain) in his left leg too. His knee collapses sometimes when he puts weight on it, and he has fallen twice. Is this normal for shingles?

  • My husband got the shingles vaccine two weeks ago?

And over the weekend, he got what I am almost sure is a case of the shingles.

Two questions - we will call the doctor when they open this morning, but is there any home remedy that will help in the meantime?

And is it possible that the vaccine caused the outbreak? He has never had shingles before now.

  • about the Fringe TV show?

My favorite show Lost is over. A friend told me I should start watching the Fringe. Since it has been on for two seasons already, what have I missed that I'll need to know to pick it up? Or will it make sense if I just start watching now?

  • Calling all computer folks -I need help with my MacBook Pro?

I turned on my computer this morning and suddenly, all of my previously white backgrounds are black. I did not make this change. It's harder for me to see this way, and I'd like to change it back, but I can't figure out how!

  • Facebook email problem?

FB keeps sending me a message that my email is incorrect and asking me to confirm my correct address. When I do, FB tells me it is wrong.

It is not wrong. I've had the same email address for 8 years, and it worked on FB until recently. I can't find a phone number to call them, and no place to send an email to them for help.

Has anyone else dealt with this, or do I have a brand new bizarre problem?

  • I need some ideas on what to do with corned beef?

I have a corned beef brisket and I'd like to do something with it that I could take to a pot luck dinner. Since we recently had corned beef and cabbage for St. Patricks Day, I'd like to avoid the cabbage and think of something different, and easy to serve and eat buffet style. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Question about a Tangelo tree?

A gardener told me that tangelo trees will "take a year off" - that is, not produce any fruit for one entire season. My tangelo appears to be doing exactly that, so I looked on line for more information about this and I can't find any mention of it. Has anyone else heard of this? Can you tell me where to find more information on line?

  • Why would a woman have difficuly urinating?

When I pee, it feels like I have to "push" or else my bladder does not empty completely. I am 58 years old, and when I think about it, this has been happening for years. I've just recently become more aware of it since we are spending time hiking and it makes it harder to deal with in the open. Any ideas?

  • Why did Facebook change?

When I started on Facebook, I would just go to the site and use it. Now it requires me to log in all the time, sometimes 4 or 5 times per day. I do mark the "remember me" box, but it forgets! Why?

  • I must have done something wrong, but what? And what do I do now?

Our mobile home has wood siding. When we bought it, it hadn't been painted for many years and needed it badly. So we primed the entire thing ( walls and trim) with Kilz Premium primer. After that dried, we painted with latex acrylic paint, also the whole thing. Then we painted the trim with latex acrylic paint in a semi gloss finish.

We finished painting on Thursday. On Saturday it rained. Today is Sunday, and we find thousands of little bubbles in some areas of the trim. What did we do wrong? And what do we do now?

  • Which accent color should I use?

I have a mobile home that needs repainting. The exterior will be a pale greenish gray, and the trim is going to be a dark cranberry wine color. So if I decide to add an accent color, what should it be? I'm considering either black or white. Any opinions on those or any other suggestions?

  • What to do with genuine maple syrup?

We have a family member who gives us a jug of real maple syrup for Christmas. Now we have 2 jugs in our freezer, and Christmas will be here in a few months. We do not make waffles or pancakes at our house. Anybody have any ideas on how to use this syrup some other way?
