  • Application of bug repellent & sunscreen . . .?

My daughter will be going to a day camp during the summer that is located in a wooded area. Since she will be outside quite a bit I definitely want to make sure she has sunscreen on but this year since the camp is located in the woods I want to make sure she is protected from bug bites and ticks. My question - should I apply the bug repellent 1st and then sunscreen or sunscreen 1st and then bug repellent or does it really make a difference?

  • Anyone own and Omni Blend V blender?

I have been researching fruit/vegetables blenders. In my search I have discovered that the Healthmaster (promoted by Montel Williams) is not as good as it seems. I have found a lot of good reviews for the Vitamix brand as well as Blendtec. However, these are priced out of my budget. I have found one blender, the Omni Blend V, that is within my budget but I haven't found a lot of feedback on it. Does anyone here own one or know of anyone that owns one and if so what is your opinion of this blender? Thanks for any help you can give.

  • What would you think about a Baptist pastor who . . .?

started off his sermon yesterday with this - "I think next year we should advertise a little differently for this day to get the Muslims in, because you know this is the 'Mother of all Sundays'".

  • Is it just me?

I'm an older mom of a 6 yr old and maybe it's just me because I waited until I was older to have kids, but do younger parents not teach their kids manners?

There are 3 girls my daughter's age who live close by and I hate it when they come over to play - they are so rude! One of my biggest complaints (all 3 of them have done this)--They come over to play and before long they are asking if they can have one of her toys. I'm a single parent and we don't have much -- my daughter likes to collect stuffed animals so she has a lot of the beanie type toys (espeically a lot from McDonald's happy meals) so it's not that these are expensive toys they are asking for and it would be different if my daughter offered them the toy - it's the fact that they just outright just ask for it (and it's not like they don't have toys of their own).

So, is it just me and the fact that I'm an older mom and of a different generation or am I justified in being upset w/their behavior?

  • What's with the new Skittles commercial?

The one where the old geezer is hooked up to a milking machine and eating sour Skittles and the farmer comes in wanting to know why the milk is all sour. I think it is totally disgusting and repulsive. What do you think?

  • Food ideas for a My Little Pony birthday party?

I'm having a My Little Pony themed birthday party for my daughter (who will be 6) and I'm looking for food ideas. I thought about getting some trail/granola mix and serving it in mini buckets for the kids to snack on and for dessert make individual bundt cakes decorated to look like hay stacks. That's all I've come up with so far -- I need help with other food ideas.
