  • Will I get charged with criminal charges for this?

So last week I was at dance with my stepdaughters and it was picture day which was crazy. While the kids were taking their pictures I left to go run to the store. While backing up, I accidentally slid against the parked car next to me. I checked their car for damage, and I did;t see any. It was pretty hard to tell because it was an old beat up van that was all scratched up on both sides so I couldn t tell if I added anything. I tried to see who the van belonged to when everyone was leaving but I couldn t figure it out. I should ve left a note, but I didn t. My stepdaughters didn t have dance yesterday because of a school event so I wasn t able to track the person down. I am worried that someone saw me because the whole front of the building is glass and people were standing at the front. I am worried that someone saw me do this and that I ll get charged by the police. It may just be anxiety/guilt getting to me but I am worried I will get charged with a hit and run. It has been a week since this happened, I m wondering if I should tell the police on my own but I m worried they will get me in trouble for waiting so long.

  • Five months to get a wedding dress from Davids Bridal?

Hey everyone! My fiancé and I are having a our destination wedding on August 19th, we fly out on the 15th. I am having a very simple wedding with only two guests, I m not very big into celebrations and honestly care more about the honeymoon then the actual wedding. I planned on getting a dress in a few weeks when my taxes come in. I m going to David s Bridal to look around. I don t plan on getting anything by Vera Wang or any particular designer. Does anyone know how long it takes for dresses to arrive at David s Bridal? Or what my odds are of getting it off the rack?

  • Is this a hippa violation?

So I work at a crisis unit for kids and teens to stay at for about a week or so. It just so happens that my stepdaughters best friend (we'll call her brittney) was admitted to the unit. So I worked with her the other day. Now, I want to point out that my stepdaughter was there with brittney and brittney's mother while brittney was admitted. Today, Brittneys mom brought my stepdaughter with her to visit brittney. Well after the visit my step daughter came home and told me stuff about Brittney and how Brittney had said something about me taking away a privilege from her for not doing her school work. I responded with "That's not true, her teacher was going to do that and I stopped her" I am afraid that this was a hippo violation. Acknowledging that brittney is there is not a hipaa violation because Brittney and her mom both involved alexia in the evaluation process. But I'm afraid that because I technically did give information about her. And if this is the case, would it be a civil or criminal violation?

  • I am a mandated reporter, will I be in trouble for not reporting this?

I work at a crisis center for children and am a mandated reporter. I know that as a mandated reporter, I am supposed to report incidents of child abuse and/or neglect even if the child being abused/neglected is not a client of mine. So here's my story; I have 3 step daughters who live with their mother (technically) but the children spend quite a bit of time at my house or their grandmothers because their mom provides them with minimal care. Mom has a bf living in the home as well as 3 other children (yes this woman has 6 kids with 3 different men) For a while, I have heard that her boyfriend spends a lot of alone time with one of the other 3 children (not my bf). I never suspected that this bf would be abusive, as he has never laid a hand on my 3 step daughters..but my husband has had his suspicions about the bf and this child. Recently, my husband filed a cps report on his kids mother for a neglect issue, and he also mentioned that he is suspiscious of abuse between the moms bf and that other child. After explaining to the oldest that a social worker would be coming by, she disclosed that she has heard loud hitting noises coming from behind the door of mom and moms bf's bedroom when mom isn't home, and this child is in the room with the bf (which the cps worker is now aware of) I was unaware of this and I am now afraid that if this child discloses that he was abused, I will be in trouble for not reporting that the bf and child spend time time together.

  • How does your homeowner s insurance company know if you have a dog that has bitten before?

So say you have a dog that has bitten someone and it got reported to animal control while you were renting an apartment. Then, you buy a house and get homeowner s insurance and you go to add your dog onto the policy (small dog not a dangerous breed), does your homeowner s insurance company check with animal control to see if the dog has bitten before?

  • How long can a dog be outside without calling animal control?

I live in mass. There is a dog next door to me that has been outside for hours. It started downpouring and no one let the dog in. Animal control is closed so I called the police department and they said they d send someone but no one came. I feel so bad for this dog. It isn t barking or making any excessive cries, it just whines every so often. It does have water and is not chained, but still. Is there a time limit on how long a dog can be left outside? She doesn t have a dog house or any shelter from the rain and I honestly feel she is being neglected.

  • Will I be able to quarantine my dog at home?

So at a cook out yesterday, my dog bit someone. My moms friend was slamming a bag of ice to break it, next to my dog. This apparently startled my dog and he nipped her, but I'm pretty positive he didn't break the skin, and there was no blood. I live in mass and dog and cat bites that don't break skin can still require a visit from animal control if reported. If she does report my dog, will I be able to quarantine him at home? He is up to date on rabies, has never bitten before, and is a 15lb Bichon fries, so he is not a dangerous dog breed.

  • Will animal control tell my landlord about a dog bite?

My dog nipped at one of my moms friends at a cook out today, she was slamming a bag of ice on the ground to break it apart next to my dog, and my dog took it as her trying to hit him. So he nipped her 😞 He didn't break the skin, but she was acting like she is concerned about it. I'm afraid she will seek medical attention and report it, and animal control will tell my landlord leading to me having to get rid of the dog. The bite did NOT occur on my landlord's property.

  • Backing up in a straight line for the road test?

I'm taking my road test next month, and I feel pretty confident about everything including parallel parking. The only thing that worries me is backing up in a straight line along the curb. They have you do it after you have parallel parked. Sometimes I can back up perfectly straight, but other times I start to drift away or towards the curb and I am not very good at telling when I am drifting, so therefore I am not very good at correcting myself. If I drift away from the curb a little bit, will I fail the test? I never do it so badly that I end up on the side walk or out in the street but I dont always say perfectly straight. If I do everything else fine but mess up a little on backing up, can I still pass the test? Also, the car that I am using for the test is the driving school's car. I have been practicing in my boyfriends car. The backside of his car is kind of big, and the driving school's car is smaller. Is it easier to back up in a car that has a smaller rear end?

  • what do i do about these hives ?

Starting last Sunday I broke out with hives and each day they got worse and worse. finally on Thursday am I was so covered in hives I couldn't sleep so I went to the hospital. They gave me a course of benadryl and prednisone. I finished the prednisone yesterday. I thought it was my new hair conditioner because they would get bad everything I washed my hair. I switched conditioner and the last time I washed it was 2 days ago. They were disappearing over the past couple days and yesterday I didn't even take benadryl. Now today they are all over my arms and getting worse by the hour. I am nowhere near as bad as when I first went in to the hospital but they are aggravating me. The thing I am most worried about is that I am allergic to my dog. I have had him 2 years but I've heard of people all of a sudden getting allergies. The days that I worked, they were actually getting worse while I was at work away from my dog. Is it likely that I'm allergic to my dog? What could this be??

  • does this sound like strep throat?

So my step daughter was complaining to me yesterday about ear and throat pain. I'm pretty much positive that she has an ear infection because her ear is draining fluid. In the middle of the night she was crying because it hurt. I gave her ibuprofen, tylenol, ear drops, and put a warm towel on her ear. It felt better but today both her ear and throat still hurt. She has had strep before so I asked if it felt like strep she said it does not hurt as bad. My insurance company does over the phone prescription for ear infections. So I'm getting her a prescription for her ear but they won't Do it for strep throat. Today is Sunday so No doctor is open and the near er or urgent care place is quite a drive and the streets are full of ice. Tomorrow it is going to be a blizzard so I can't just take her tomorrow. I'm doubting it's strep throat too because she has an appetite, and is able to eat. She has No fever and she said that it feels like post nasal drip. Her throat has Bern hurting for a week she said so I feel like if she had strep all week she'd be pretty miserable by now and She's not. Does it sound like strep or just a sore throat associated with a cold? If she takes antibiotics for Herbert infection will that clear up the strep throat as Well if she does have strep?

  • when will i get my state refund?

I checked on the status of my federal return and it is set to be direct deposited on Friday but I still haven't received my state. I tried the web site that allows you to check your state refund status but there was No option to check the status for my 2014 return. The most recent option was 2013. Is it to early to check state refund statuses? Is it possible to receive federal before state?

  • is a snowstorm likely in 36 degree weather?

So Saturday I'm supposed to go away for the weekend it's already paid for and it's about an hour and a half drive. The forecast says it's going to be a mix of rain and snow. It may only snow 1-3 inches but it says there's potential for a major storm. The temperature is going to be 36 degrees. Is that really low enough for heavy wet snow?

  • Is my dog experiencing an intestinal blockage?

So my 14lb 2 yr old bichon frise at pieces of sponge a couple days ago. I am not sure how much he ate I just walked into the kitchen and there were pieces in his mouth and on the floor. I don't know if he really swallowed anything but I think he did. I know sponges can tripple in size in the body because they expand, however this was not really a normal sponge that he ate. It's more like eating foam because it absorbs water but it does not expand. This was a full 2 days ago. I called the vet after it happened and they told me to feed him and high fiber diet which I did. He has not pooped out the sponge but it could be so such tiny pieces that I could not see them. He has been going to the bathroom normally and is not in pain or lethargic and his appetite has not changed. But just a minute ago he threw up a little bit. He's back to acting his normal self. It was just plain liquid nothing came up. He threw up the same kind of throw up on friday (well before he ate the sponge) so I dont know if him throwing up is related to the sponge, related to whatever was going on on friday, or if he just ate something he should not have..he's always poking around the trash. Is it likely that his intestines are blocked?

  • Will a dog be able to digest pieces of sponge?

I have 14 lb bichon frise who eats everythingggg. Anyway I have one of those sponges that are on like a stick and almost look like tenticles hanging of the the end. So I walk in the kitchen and almost half of the tenticles are off of it and hes eating them. There was some on the floor and I took some out of his mouth but Im pretty sure he swallowed some of the pieces he chewed up. They were probably 1 inch long and maybe a 1/4 inch whide pieces. Is he going to be able to poop this out or throw it up?

  • using ginger to help with asthma?

So I'm having chest tightness that I think is associated with asthma. This happens to me often. I'm not sick or congested it just feels Like my airway is tight. I used my nebulizer and inhaler it helped but I still feel tight. I don't feel bad enough to go to the doctor and ask for prednisone like I have in the past but still not 100 percent. I heard Ginger is a natural home remedy for relieving tightness. Does it really work?
