  • Who wins between Oscar De La Hoya and Sugar Ray Leonard at Welterweight?

Both fighters were Olympic Gold Medalists. Both are 5'10. Ray has a once inch reach advantage over Oscar. 74 vs 73 inches.

    So, who wins?

    How do they win?

Would it be a good fight, or a boring chess match?

    Your opinions please.

  • When is it okay for a conventional fighter to go to southpaw?

Right now, I'm a conventional fighter. I'm right handed, but my left hand is my power hand, so I have a snappy hard left jab. The hardest punch in my arsenal is my right hook, but I rarely land/use it.

I've entertained the idea of switching to southpaw. Naturally, I feel pretty clumsy as a southpaw fighter, but the advantages would be I could switch hit like Hagler.

Also, I like to use the lead hook, so my right hook would be more active. My right jab however is slow, but from what I've read most southpaws don't really use the jab as much.

When I've practiced as a southpaw, I notice I throw a lot of lead lefts.

I guess my real question is... when is acceptable for a fighter to switch? If I do make the switch, any smarter way of making the transition easier?

PS. I am doing this with MMA/Muay Thai in mind, not just boxing. I shoot in with my takedowns with my left side forward as well.

  • Has anyone tried the Gracie Diet?

I've read a little bit about the Gracie Diet. So, I'm curious, has anyone tried it?

If so, what results did you experience? Did you lose weight? See an improvement in overall conditioning? Is it hard to stay on?

  • Help me pick a good, concealable knife for self defense?

I have a concealed carry weapons license. In my state, I can legally carry a concealed blade. I need help finding a good quality knife that will be easy to conceal. I'm more opt to a fixed blade, but I won't rule out a folding knife or switchblade.

For knife choices, I'm thinking about the Special Operations Group Mini-Pentagon. http://sogknives.com/store/M14.html

I've also considered buying a Cold Steel knife. I'm a novice with knives, so please recommend a good quality knife that won't let me down.

  • Help me pick an international author to do an analytical essay on for my world literature class.?

    Hey everyone,

I'm looking for ideas on who to pick for an analytical essay. It must be a non-American writer from any region of the world. It would also be helpful if you could recommend a good book written by that author. Thank you very much.
