  • Is Obama going to go down as the worst US president ever?

He is completly destroying our county and it seems nothing can be done about it. They passed a horrible healthcare bill that most of Americans don't want. Along with Cash for clunkers, old golf clubs, etc,. and putting our county farther and farther into debt is just ridiculas (AKA "we're going to spend outselves out of the recession")..seriously???..now, I'm not a Republican, Liberial, Dem, etc., because I think they're all idiots...but this Obama, and Pelosi serioulsy destroying out county...

What do you random people think?

  • Moving my family to Victorville, CA area and need some area advice...?

Actually, my company is located near there but all of the research my wife and I have done on the area, it hasn't turned out that well. We have 3 young kids and my wife is going to be a stay at home mom. The housing is VERY VERY cheap in the Victorville, Apple Valley area but the crime and schools in the area just look horrible. So, I was looking at Santa Clarita or Rancho Cucamanga area...any advice on these areas or nearby areas that are "safe" and somewhat affordable? I was looking at renting a house in the 1500 range. After staying in Victorville, CA for 2 days, I just didn't feel that safe there and don't want my family there even though the housing is really cheap. 4br NEW houses all over the place in the 150's but the crime there is just too much. Palmdale didn't impress me either. How about Wrightwood or Phelan area? Is crime bad there as well? Thanks for any information you could offer me and my family!

  • The new Obama's stimulus package......?

I just read that part of the plan is to REWARD you for going into debt to buy a new car? Isn't that why many Americans are in trouble now because they have a car they can't afford and live in a house they can't afford? So, to stimulate the ecomnomy is to go into DEBT and buy a car you can't afford? Makes about as much sense as building an amusment park in Florida..anyone agree with me here?

  • Medical Lab Tech job question?

I've got a BS degree in Marketing but I'm looking for a career change and want to get into the medical field (more job security!). I tried Nursing but I'm not having any luck getting into a program because my GPA was a 3.1 and they said it's too low and would have to go back and retake classes I got a B in and try to get an A? What the freak! I am a male, and my wife suggested Medical Lab Tech. I have no idea what I'd be doing, but there is a program here in my small town that I can start in April. Looks like 18-20 hr here to start in Middle Tennessee which isn't that bad for this area but not great. It's a 18 month program and I've looked online and have a "little" idea of what I'd be doing. Testing blood, stool, etc,. My question is, is this a good or decent career field? I'd like to maybe have a answer from someone like me (34, wife and 3 kids) who's made a career change in the Medical field and is a Medical lab tech. Do you like you job? What pay do you top out at and how many "years" of experience does it take to be more marketable?

    Thanks for any advice!

  • Credit card and building 'wifes' credit?

My wife and I don't have any debt except our mortage and I only have one credit card that is in my name with 0 balance and a 10,000 limit. We went to refinace our house but my wife's credit score is 632. They said it's low because she doesn't have any "access" to any money. They suggested we open her up a credit card to raise her score. Anyways, I added her to my credit so is this the same thing as her opening up one herself and will it help her credit score? We both HATE debt and credit cards and would like to avoid opening up another one. So, by adding her to my card, does this effect her credit?

  • If Obama claimed the other half...?

If he claimed his other half, being White, do you think our new president would be this "sold" to Americans? He hasn't done anything yet but it seems everyone already has the confidence that's he's going to change the world, bring back the economy, bring world peace etc. etc,.

Being the first half black/white president is a great accomplishmet for minorities (I guess) but does his credentials prove he's going to do all he says and what Obama supporters think? Time will only tell...

  • Age and ways to get your baby to sleep in their own bed...?

My little girl is 10 months old and we're stuggling to figure out how to get her to sleep in her own bed at night instead of sleeping with us. When she was 4 months old, we started putting in her bed, with her baby monitor, at night but she ALWAYS starts crying between 1-4 am. We have a 2 story house, and it's VERY hard on us to come up here every night and get her back to sleep.

So, do you let them just cry? I've heard people tell me this, but my wife can't stand to here her cry. She'll come running to her aid. I've also heard of putting a bed in our room and slowly moving it out of our room? Anyways, any suggestions from anyone who has dealt with or have experience would be great! Thanks!

  • Question for Health Nuts....?

Do you think all this new "health" stuff like eating organic food and such is mostly fueled by Marketing? Seems ALOT of people are eating healthier and spending TONS of money on pills, diets, etc., to live longer. My great grandmother is 101 and is good condition considering her age. To this day, she drinks coffe, eats fried pork chops, fried corn, fried chicken,.etc. I'm from Tennessee if you haven't noticed. I think that this whole "organic" blitz and eating healthy stuff is more about companies making money. My great grandmother has never smoked or drank a day in her life in which I think that contributes more to living a long healthy life.

I'm 34 and eat healthy but don't take it as far as most people out west in California seem to do. I have 3 grandmothers over 80 and none of them has ever drank or smoked. I just think drinking and smoking are WAY detrimental to your health than trying to eat these crazy expensive "organic" foods. Anyways, I told my wife I'm going to eat like my family has always done..fried foods from and an Iron Skillet and add tons of bacon grease when making corn bread, green beans etc..and at least 2-5 cups of black coffee everyday. But I'll never drink, except an occational glass of wine, and NEVER smoke.

  • Is the SEC is the BEST conference...?

I know, it's a silly question. But every year there's always a debate on who has the best teams in the conference. YEAR in and YEAR out, SEC teams have dominated the bowls. Big 12 got DELT with, AGAIN, by the SEC. BIG 10, well no comment...PAC 10 did good by going 5-0 but they really only had one BIG game and it was againt a BIG 10 conference that..well, no comment..ACC, BIG EAST are mediocre. Anyways, year in and year out, SEC teams have dominated the competition. 5-0 in BCS championship game. There's no argument who's the best conference. If my beloved VOLS were in any other conference they would've made it to a bowl game this year.
