  • How do I get rid of "Bannersdontwork" from firefox?

I'm looking for some software to kill off bannersdontwork, specifically on firefox. A free solution would be great, but I'm willing to buy a malware killer IF it does the job, if you know of any software out there that works, please advise. I've already run Windows Defender, Windows Essentials and a number of free scans, all with no results. Please be specific as possible with your recommendation. I'm running windows 7pro. Thanks for your help.

  • Went to have an eye exam. The next day I get the first stye in my 62 years of life. Coincidence?

I believe I was somehow infected at the exam. Optometrist says no but I find it hard to believe my body waits over 62 years to get a stye - the day after the exam. I told her I'd research and might be back to talk about the exam bill. I don't pay to get infected.

Any eye specialists out there? Is this truly a coincidence?

    thanks in advance

  • Can I add a junction box and extend a 220v line 30 feet to power a 1500 watt wall heater?

Had an electric range/oven in the kitchen, replaced with gas. The 220 line is not used for anything else. I would like to add a 220 wall heater in a bathroom on the other end of the house. The idea is to simply install a junction box in the kitchen and run a new line to the bath under the house.

Is this a safe approach? I really don't want to burn down my house.

  • Which router would you recommend?

I stream a lot of video and music, so I need a router that can handle multiple streaming appliances. Right now I use a bottom of the line Netgear provided free from comcast. On the upside, it was the easiest router I ever set up. I know routers can be a real hassle so a new router would also need to be easy to get set up. Also needs to be accessible wirelessly for laptops and internet radio.

I run windows 7 premium for an operating system.

    Thanks for your help.

  • A Major retailer sold me a set of tires last December.?

They did not have the capability to properly balance my wheels, but still sold me $900 worth of dunlop tires. Last week the shop manager said they couldn't balance them because of my wheels, which are STOCK. When I balked at that, he fessed up they didn't have "the tools" to do it correctly. He wound up paying another tire place $58 to balance rotate, only the other place also found a problem. One tire has "wheel hop" and is defective, should be thrown away. In a nutshell: they sold me tires 10 months ago that were never balanced and one is now found to be defective.

What is my recourse? I think I want to buy new tires someplace else, front end align and new shocks on their dime not mine. DO I have a leg to stand on?

  • Anybody successfully link a Samsung player to MLB.TV?

I just bought a samsung c6500 blu ray home theater set up, primary because its suppose to stream MLB.TV I was able to link to Pandora and Picassa, but when I try to link to MLB.TV, all it does is give me a spinning connect wheel and never actually connects.

MLB.TV email support said "maybe you need to wait until the season starts." I requested that maybe somebody from MLB would actually know this, I got no response. So much for customer support.

SO...anybody own a smart Samsung player and successfully link to MLB.TV? Do I need to wait for opening day? Should I return this unit?

  • I'm shopping for a new wireless router. Dual band routers seem to be all the rage?

I has a tech-type person tell me that to utilize BOTH bands, my computer's network card needs to be designed to run both bands. Funny - all the routers I've looked at don't mention it, at least on the outside of the box.

Is it true my network card needs to be capable of running both bands, or is this guy full of it? Of yeah, it was a Netgear tech I had on the phone, so he's SUPPOSED to know what he's talking about.

While I'm here, what high speed router is the easiest to set up?

    Thanks

  • Which computer components are needed to optimize video streaming?

I'm about to order a new computer. I want it to be optimized to stream video. I'll be streaming movies and baseball games. What components need to be top of the line? I already assume I'll need a lot of ram and a quality video card - anything else?

Is there a good off-the-shelf computer that would suit my needs? I already have a 27" hi-def monitor.

  • Is there a FREE internet radio station that will broadcast the World Series?

I live in a small town in Oregon - no ESPN radio here. I'd really like to listen, but the only access I have is online. I know MLB.com will broadcast, but it cost money.

  • Can I splice in a 220v heater?

Any electricians out there? I have a 220v spa outside with a dedicated circuit. I would like to install a 220v electric wall heater in the bedroom next to the spa. From a wiring point of view, can I add a junction box and simply splice a line to the bedroom? I have no idea what code might be, but would like to have things better than code anyway.

  • Why can't I see my active desktop on my tv?

Details: Vizio 47" LCD w/VGA connection, HP netbook running XP.

I connected my netbook via vga cable. I was able to designate my tv as display #2. My tv displays my wallpaper picture clearly, but not my active desk top. Yes, I clicked on the screen to use #2 display as active.

Since the tv displays my wallpaper I'm assuming the tv and computer are "talking" to each other. I just need to somehow get the computer to direct the right screen to the tv.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Where can I buy a Harley Davidson fuel filter?

Dealership wants $90 for a stinking fuel filter for my 2000 road king. This is a high pressure, fuel injection filter that resides inside the gas tank. This feels like a cheesy filter that HD just nails you on.

Where can I find one more reasonable?

  • Is there a WIRELESS device that will allow me to use my 47" LCD tv as a monitor?

I want to do things like watch Hulu and other video portals, only on my tv, not my laptop. I hope there is something I can connect to my tv via hdmi - I already am running a wireless router.

  • Where can I find a high definition TV antennae?

DTV changed my local channels, now all I get are standard def crap. Since local channels are broadcast free-to-air, I need a hi-def antennae, indoor or outdoor. I would prefer an amplified antennae.

    Which is the best?

    Where can I buy it?

  • Any electricians out there?

I want to add electric heat to 3 rooms at the end of my house. I have an unused 40 amp circuit (used to have an elect stove). I want to run a line from the junction box into a bedroom closet, connecting to a remote circuit box. From that I'd run lines to 2 bedrooms and 1 bath and install 220v heaters. I won't install on my own and will hire the job out - I just want to know if this is the correct way to run power and is it safe for my house?
